I'm not even sure I want my child to go here as of yet. Why would I want to be put on a waiting list for school I wasn't even allowed to see?? Kinda of hash stance to take for a school who only has a 3 star rating. Any case, first impressions are everything to me whether it be on the phone or in person. Needless to say this was not a good one. With so many choices for preschools in the Santa Rosa area I'll be moving on ...

His communication and his confidence blossomed almost immediately. For months, he was the youngest in the school and it was so sweet to see how all the older kids looked out for him. He carries the skills he learns at school with him and incorporates them at home. The teachers are amazing and build genuine connections with the kids. The campus is a beautiful, calming environment perfect for learning and playing. The community is welcoming and encourages parent involvement. Best of all, my son loves his school and is always happy to be there!

We declined field trips and our child has been taken off campus multiple times without parent consent. Our child has witnessed a verbal and physical incident between an associate director/teacher and younger student resulting in police involvement and NO parents were informed for days. The middle school teacher allowed our child to purchase alcohol paraphernalia during a field trip with SCHOOL FUNDS. A student assaulted our child and was not removed from campus. The Director had direct contact with a parent at pickup and said NOTHING. Do not trust this school with your child's education or well-being.

The teacher Mrs. J is exactly like Ms. Mention from the Little Princess. Not warm at all to her students. My son came home several times during the year and stated that he hated himself and wanted to kill himself. I'd recommend the school for regular Ed, but steer clear for special education. Another parents words for her are "if she smiles, her face will crack". This may sound harsh, but sadly it's true. We've loved every other special education class that we've been in and every other school we've been to.

Due to his experience here he was diagnosed with PTSD and has been hospitalized for suicide attempts. I highly suggest to not put your child here. Some things to make note off is that the facility is unclean, behavioral specialists untrained, and their main form of behavioral management is locking up children in empty rooms for 2+ hours after minor disruptions (inappropriate jokes, swearing etc.) The real kicker that made me instantly pull him was the frequent restraining of him when he refused to go to these empty rooms. These physical actions only made my son retaliate making him more aggressive and in turn be restrained more for sometimes hours at a time. There was a governmental investigation a few years back where they found these facilities were unsafe, they promised to change things but it is clear that has not been done well.

Sure we have had our share of issues but most schools have a bad teacher or two and god forbid a bad admin. But right now in 2024 we are doing really well. Great parent organization and very supportive of all types of kids and families. Everyone is truly welcome there.
