I felt that they could have charged me more but didn't, what they did charge was reasonable for the job done and I would not hesitate to go back for any other IT problems with my phone or laptop, or if I need any accessories as they have a lot on display in the shop. .

Completely-Pc
Completely PC is a relatively new addition to the random assortment of shops on this local street,…read moreand I will be forever grateful for its founding! Christmas 2009 saw a very nasty contagion- and demise- of numerous electronic goods in our household. My laptop surrendered mid-university essay and I, quite literally, ran to CompletelyPC. Keith worked tirelessly to save my little laptop- providing a copy of word to enable completion of my essay on another computer. Unfortunately the laptop memory was lost but she was returned to full working order and adopted. I have recommended C.PC to a friend whose laptop has also been fully repaired quickly and relatively cheaply. Two computers and one degree saved! I recently purchased a new laptop, upon which Keith installed Office 2007- for a much more reasonable price than Currys were charging! Definitely consider this place if you have computer trouble; Keith is really helpful, very patient and won't overcharge!

I then got a call to go to the clinic to put in my 4 digit code to give them access for repair. At this point I decided to have the screen replaced even though it was not causing any problems. It had a very small crack that was hardly noticeable. 6th June after a new screen had been fitted and allegedly the charging fault fixed we paid £160. On collection we found that the charging port had not been fixed the keypad had dead spots and would not go in to sleep mode. 11th June returned the iPad for repair. 22nd June collected the iPad charging chip had been replaced, 2nd screen fitted. Keyboard still had dead spots and would not go in to sleep mode. 25th June returned iPad and the third screen was fitted. 5th of July informed by telephone that the iPad could not be fixed. 6Th July informed that the iPad needs a new mother board at a cost of £140. Martin would be prepared to fix it if I paid half of repair cost plus £10 labour. I collected the iPad to back up my files. I had used the iPad for my business right up to delivering it for charging repair. I could not wait any longer. I had to purchase a new iPad. After contacting the clinic and leaving a number of messages I was unhappy with their lack of professionalism and eventually spoke to the manager who for some reason had never been available when I had contacted them. I discussed claiming a minimal amount through their insurance company and in return giving them the iPad. The owner promised to call me back after 48 hrs. He did not call me back or contact me in any way. As I have been out of the country until recently I have been unable to attend to this matter. I have now decided to take this to the small claims court and trading standards. The clinic had taken £160 under false pretences on 6th June when they informed me that the charging port had been repaired. This is illegal. I WOULD NOT RECOMEND THIS COMPANY.

If you're a techno or a computer geek, you'll be interested to know that the branch sells everything from RAM, computer fans and motherboards to name but a few. Having visited earlier today, the guy who served me appeared co-operative and friendly taking the time to listen to all my needs. The only drawbacks I would mention, is the fact that it is located in a place where it is out of mainview and some items are slighlty pricier than your average PC World or Comet goods. Also, if you're not satisfied with an item or you just bought the wrong one, you're unable to refund the item which has been opened (understandable), whereas other stores might allow the refund. However, the branch does have a decent website where you can freely search for your items and order through delivery. This is a store which sells electronics dedicated to computing which your local high street stores won't offer (apart from Maplin) but it is generally cheaper than Maplin. All in all, this is a store which is handy to have out there and will offer advice if for instance you wish to build your own desktop computer.
Phoenix Computers

The first thing that struck me about Phoenix Computers when visiting it was its name on the front…read moreof the shop. It reads 'Pheonix Computers'. As those literary types amongst you may recognise, this is not the right spelling of Phoenix. Not the most professional thing for your customers to see before they even enter the shop (maybe they should have used the spellchecker on one of their computers?) Thankfully though, the shop itself is a lot better than its first impressions suggest as Phoenix offers a great range of computers for sale at very competitive prices. As it is a small local shop and not one of those faceless chains, it also manages to offer each customer a very friendly and personal service without any hidden agendas. They also offer their services for computer repairs, working on a 'no fix, no fee' basis that is much better value for money than their larger competitors. Other computer related services such as website design and data backup are also available, meaning Pheonix...sorry, PHOENIX is a great place to go for any PC or laptop related problems.

From the front of the shop it looks small but don't under estimate it . It is a family run buisness and a lovely family at that. It is run extremely professionally. I found this shop last year and have been on a number of occassions with various problems from computer viruses to laptop charging problems etc and no problem is ever to small or difficult for this company to deal with. No matter what the problem has been they have repaired and delivered on a very quick turnaround. Most importantly they are very reasonably priced and do not cost the earth like other companies I have dealt with in the past.. They are very down to earth people and don't try to blind you with" technology jargan" If you have any computer repairs I would definately recommend this company. I give this shop 10/10 and will certainly deal with them time and time again.

What makes this place good though is the personal service and expertise that the guys have. They have been in business quite a few years and really know their stuff. They will give you advice and will not try to make you buy something you dont need. Their aftersales service is second to none, and they also repair and replace any old pcs that you have. Highly recommended.
