The amount of one stars for this place is stupid. So I'm adding a review to help the guys out. It's one of my favorite shops and absolutely has the best singles selection and order process. I have shopped at so many card shops, and I'm gonna give my opinion on it. More than likely you are not going to be greeted like you just walked into a corporate retailer that has the "six feet rule." There are some outliers and shop owners and employees that are super engaging and chatty. But like 9 out of 10 times in card shops it's usually a quiet not in the mood to chit chat kinda vibe. Most everyone just says hello when ya walk in. I've personally had some good conversations with the guys who work here. But at the end of the day, not everyone plays the same TCG runs the same colors/strats or knows every card ever created among like 10 major games. Do your fuckin homework before you pull up. There are literally endless amounts of internet resources. Now to the important stuff. I really love the way you order singles, you literally text them your order. They reply when it's done and give you pre tax price. Shop is clean and organized and they have crazy old sets. I play MTG so it's a mecca to me. They pretty much have whatever I order and the cards are in good condition. You also get free packs after you buy a certain amount of cards which is rad. It's literally a reward for "just buying singles" You gotta pop into this shop if you play TCGs. Its a really good one. read more

I am building a commander deck in MTG and had some cards from my previous events (one with this shop which went somewhat well) that I wanted to trade in for store credit. The cards I was looking for totaled roughly $70 and the trade ins per the website they sent me was roughly $100 (not including the 30% they take off for trades which is no problem at all and not part of this complaint). They send me a multi-paragraph text with a bunch of rules regarding their policies, which I read in full. I then bring my roughly 15 trade in cards to the store to pick up my new cards. The employee at the trade in station (on 8/9/26 at roughly 5:30 PM) was incredibly rude, dismissive, and belittled me by saying that I should "probably read the rules before coming up here" (as if my 15 cards were really wasting his time). The rule in question is that they require the cards to be a $5 minimum for trade in, which again is not a problem for me, I just didn't know. This is because the rules for that were not sent to me, despite me telling the employee I was planning on trading in cards, and are instead posted in print outs as a wall of text stapled to the wall next to the trade in counter and only in one spot does it say that the minimum is "($5+ Only)". Either way, fine. I was already feeling upset from that unnecessary bad attitude but I took my cards back and within 2 minutes separated out the cards that were over $5 using, again, the website THEY sent me. He rolled his eyes and started taking pictures of the card, then gives me roughly $44 in store credit which I used to purchase the rest of my cards. Overall, nobody deserves to be treated like that, and that person needs to get their attitude checked or the store needs to step in if they want to retain customers. would have given a 0 star review if possible. I walked in a few weeks ago hours before the shop closed. I had a short list of cars, 6 to be specific. It should have been an easy $100 sale for the store, they said they had to have a list sent in online, which is reasonable, I asked if I sent them a list now could they have if before close. Again, this was 6 cards in two hours. there were 4 staff present and no customers at the counter. 3 of the staff were leaning and scrolling on their phones. I was told "No" I took that list of cards to another local shop and happily gave them the $100. I also had the cards pulled in 15 minutes. Save yourself the headache and shop elsewhere, even if it's online. this place is not worth it. read more

I have no clue why there are so many bad reviews for this place!! Went in and they were super helpful and patient with me as I was looking at the singles and answered any questions I had. I traded in a card and they gave me a really fair amount for the card I gave them. Prices are very reasonable, they are a bit over MSRP but tgats expected for any card shop. The girl working on 9/11/25 (didnt get a chance to catch her name) was super friendly and helpful! They have a pretty wide selection of cards. Was able to find about 3 different cards of my favorite Pokémon when I wasn't expecting to find any. Just wish it had a bit more of a crowd, every time I've gone in there, there isn't many people sitting at the tables looking to trade or playing games. read more

Store is terrible now. The people that work there don't like their job and always seem like they are in a rush to get you out of the door. The selection of products they have is okay not great/not bad but absolutely not competitive at all. They have Pokemon binders with cards in them that are 2,3 and 4 dollars over priced. Selling a 40 cent card for 4$ in 2024 in a market where your customer base knows what they are doing is insane. This store used to be great, good people who ran things, old location was good and cozy. Now you definitely would be way better off going up the street to Level 7. read more

The customer service was horrible. Barely a greet when you walk in and when wanting to see if a trade could work they weren't helpful nor did they offer to have a look through our trade binder. The customer service of this store has seriously gone down hill. I used to frequently visit this store to buy and sometimes sell pokemon cards just for fun. Unfortunately I have been giving this store the benefit of the doubt the last 6 months after reading all the reviews. I never thought it was that bad the blonde haired girl and younger guy who wears a hat give good service hats off to them, but I cant say much for the guy early 30's with black slicked back hair. I personally avoid talking to him because he clearly lacks any people skills and takes things way too personally. I told him I did not want to sell my cards for the given price, so I took my cards back and while I was walking out he insulted me calling me a simp? and told me to go to Level 7 games instead, which by the way I did and got a way better offer and selection, so thanks for the rec! I was genuinely shocked that he had the nerve to insult a customer just because I said no to the lowball offer. What kind of atrocious store hires people like this. I'm honestly glad it happened because now they lost a customer, told all my friends to stop going here, and I wouldnt even consider spending a penny here anymore. Service is an absolute ZERO. On three separate occasions with three separate employees I have left with a disgusting taste in my mouth to say the least. Employees have expressed annoyance with the simplest of questions, and feel completely satisfied with belittling customers. I will never step foot in that store again. Super unprofessional to change their reviews in the first place not to mention change it to "crying in mommys basement". They have done this to numerous people not just my friends. Service is abysmal! Staff is not friendly whatsoever and making a big purchase or selling off cards is like your bothering them! Selection is great and the only reason why I would give them a star! Everything from Older Pokémon sets to MTG set they do have a good selection! Value, which brings me to a current trend in this industry! I get why NO gaming store would ever buy back cards at Market Value, they would be out of business. Terrible place to buy Pokemon sealed product right now, good luck finding anything at MSRP. Decent selection of singles with reasonable prices but I'm done stopping in to this store. The preorder prices they are offering for shining fates and battle styles can be beat by many online retailers with shipping included. In addition the owner will attack you online for voicing your opinion of his store and call you too poor for the hobby and ban you for life using your facebook profile pic. Probably one of the best magic stores I've ever been to. They usually have any card or sealed product you would ever want and they always have TCG mid prices on everything. Folks there are usually helpful and work on hard completing your singles order. Cannot recommend this place enough read more

I stopped by this establishment with intent to sell or trade some of my old Pokémon cards. At first I was welcomed in and I was browsing at what they had. I asked a question about sell or trade and was directed to read a note they had on the counter. I thought nothing of it considering the times but an easy going convo regarding nostalgia is what I thought I'd find here. Nothin but a rude ass middle aged man pointing for me to read some note that says nothing about trading which was my initial question. I went in today as a first-time customer and was going to buy a $14.99 item and once I confirmed that I was going to purchase it I was told that it is $24.99 despite the sticker price saying otherwise. I pointed this out to the customer service associate who was literally picking the sticker sticker off in front of me while I was talking to him. he directed me to a shelf label which was not the same item and I pointed that out to him to which he went to speak to I guess a manager who didn't even have the professionalism to come forward and address this discrepancy. I drove from Lafayette with my good friend to show these guys some magic and Pokémon cards. As we walked in we were greeted by a man behind the counter. As we showed him the cards he instantly said "we aren't interested in these" ok, we said may we ask why? "Well, they're fake" he said. Fake? What makes them fake? We said. Then quicker than we can get another word in he begins shooing us out the door! He was not willing to help, assist, or explain anything. He seemed as if we were bothering him. So we left. Not knowing anything more than we did when we walked in. Incredibly disappointed. Would not recommend. And as he said verbatim "there are hundreds of game shops, go see someone else." I have bought and sold cards at what we call scam heroes (game heroes) They buy your cards for half price if they have a $20 or more value. there bulk pricing is a pile of bullshit. $4 per 1,000 cards. Just the cardboard and materials are worth more. I sold a $50 card for $24. They offered me $10 dollars for my entire collection wich is worth about $200-$300. Do not sell or buy anything from this store full of scam artists. if you know anyone who gives their buisness to this place. TELL THEM TO STOP BECAUSE THEY ARE GETTING SCAMMED. I came here trying to sell my Pokémon card collection. My collection consists of 49 cards and is about $389 in total on TCGplayer. I know that they wouldn't pay the full price for all of the cards but I didn't know that they would lowball me so hard. The employees also had really bad attitudes. They didn't even take the time look at the cards and just gave me a price of $0.25 per card. That is $13 for a $389 collection. I could have had a 1st edition Charizard in there that they missed out on. I understand that they are trying to make money as a business but they at least could have had better customer service and pricing! read more

Game Heroes used to be a nice place years ago. Currently their prices are far too high and the trade in policy practically steals from the customer base. The rules about how trades work are mercurial and they lack adequate consistency. The ventilation is atrocious and the air becomes sickening during tournaments. Use them if you must, but do just that. read more

At the bottom of this post is the two sentence review that I originally gave to the store. Since writing it, I've been inspired to provide some more details on my overall experience with Game Heroes. Here is a story of something that happened to me: Two months ago I had plans to go to a prerelease event at Game Heroes on a Sunday afternoon. I get to go to ONE event (if that) for prerelease because I have a family of 5. Limited time. Scheduling is key. Makes sense right? When I showed up to the event, the guy behind the counter told me that it had been canceled. Brutal. Sunday afternoon. Literally the last event scheduled in Denver, and I had stupidly put all my eggs in that basket. I had missed the entire prerelease weekend for this. I was obviously pissed. I checked my phone while I was still in the store. There had been an announcement on the page cancelling the event a few hours prior. No FB event cancelation that would have sent notifications out or anything, just a post to the Game Heroes main page. I expressed my frustration and the guy there (the owner?) said that it was a child care issue. Nothing he could do. As a dad, I get it, but as someone who also has to manage child care for there kids, it didn't exactly hit home for me in the moment. I stalked out of the store, went to my car, logged onto Facebook and gave the store a one-star review with the comment "Showed up for a tournament that had been canceled via Facebook post. Get it together y'all." As I was pulling out of the parking lot, some guy (the owner?) came running up to my car screaming for me to stop. I rolled down the window and he asked me if I was the guy who just posted on social media. I told him I was. He said that I left the store before he could offer me product as compensation for the cancelled tournament. I explained that I didn't want product, that I wanted to play. We were both obviously agitated... He told me that I shouldn't have given him a bad review and "asked" me to take it down. I said that I would think about it. He didn't appear to like that reply. Asked me again to take it down. I drove away. Needless to say, I didn't take the post down. I understand child care issues, but I don't see a huge transgression in giving a store a bad review for bad service. And I didn't like the way that this guy ran out to my car all pissy and insistent that I change my review. It felt creepy and I kinda wanted to stick it to him. Fast forward two months. Someone on a FB page suggests that I go to Game Heroes to ask for some starter MTG kits for s chill club that I am going to start shortly. I reference my experience from two months previous as an explanation for why I proooooooobably shouldn't be asking Game Heroes to do me any favors. The owner (Rubio?) blows a friggin gasket! Goes on to explain that I almost ripped the doors off his store and how I contrived all sorts of things. How I see it, he reacted to this one social media post the same way that he reacted when he ran out to my car on the day of the prerelease. Like a bully. So yah, I think that the owner of this store is a jerk. I'm sure that he is super duper popular amongst all his buddies and the store's typical acolytes. Not me, I think he's a jerk. I'm not scared to go in there or anything, I'd attend a larger scheduled event there. I even thought that the store had some of the more competitive prize structures for prerelease and release tournaments (which I like). I just think that the owner is a turd, so I won't be spending any of my spare time there. My original review: Showed up for a tournament that had been canceled via Facebook post. I'm a fan of thinking everyone is allowed to have bad days. Idk what most of these negative reviews are talking about other than being bent out of shape about not getting market price on their merch. It's a business yall, they have to be able to pay the bills and their employees. I've found their prices to be quite fair once you get that through your skull. Most everyone I've come in contact with is rather knowledgeable about the variety of gaming supplies they sell. I understand what TCG player says about card prices but that's if you're doing the leg work yourself. Not to mention the over saturation of products we (I play magic and D&D) are getting nowadays with WOTC literally putting LGS's like this out in the cold. Their booster and box prices have always been fair so y'all need to maybe just open your own TCG account and sell it yourself before you put my LGS down like you have, maybe then you'll understand how hard it is to sell cards in this economy. Did a preorder with this company via eBay and they fulfilled 16 of the 28 cards I ordered. When I opened the case with them they only refunded 4 copies calling me a liar and scammer in the process. I have since reported them to eBay for conduct. Please beware - they have great feedback which was why I used them for the preorder to begin with, but clearly when they make a mistake or face adversity their tactic is to pass that onto the buyer instead. read more

My kids have been crazy about Pokemon, and we discovered that this huge TCG store was just a short drive for us from Louisville. The guy we talked to, Chris, was super nice and patient with my 10yo and 8yo, explaining how the store worked and how we could search online for everything we needed. On check-out he asked my son if he used sleeve protectors for his cards, and when my son said no, he threw in some sleeves for him. My son's eyes lit up. When they opened their booster packs on the way home, apparently they got some amazing cards, so for them this store is now magical. My kids have already started to do extra chores around the house with the goal of coming back soon. Thanks for the great experience. read more

I have to give this store 5 stars. If you are a MTG player this place has everything you need. I could see if you didn't play MTG you wouldn't know what to think of this place or even how to rate it. The employees are interesting... knowledgeable and chill. I've been finding all employees from comic book stores and magic shops have the same personality. This is definitely our go to place for new magic cards and advice. They have a lot of events for Friday Night Magic - much more than other stores. The employees act as judges and are very helpful and know their trade. I'm always excited to visit Game Heroes. :) Keep up the good work guys. read more

But realize you have said this out loud, in a crowd of people, in the mall. Couldn't believe how rude he was when he answered the phone too, very apathetic. Do not go here if you want a pleasant shopping experience. So this Leo guy is pretty awkward but cool, and that Thomas guy is too tall and rude, but the owner Matt is the shiz. One of the best stores in Colorado. Wish there were more stores that were like them, but be careful they weigh singles. It's a despicable practice but they have to make sure the cards are real.
