Linen Mills Studio in Banbridge, Northern Ireland, which served as a filming location for the Game of Thrones, now serves as its only official studio tour in the world. The Game of Thrones Studio Tour experience is a self-guided walk that starts off Beyond the Wall, and that winds through various themes, locations and scenes, ending in Kings Landing at the Red Keep and the Destroyed Throne Room. Costumes, accessories, weapons, and location sets are heavily featured throughout the tour. Everything here is family friendly; there is no nudity or scenes of violence. There are a several interactive features in the Tour. I visited three: - The Hall of Faces lets visitors add their faces to a tower that displays faces on digital screens. - There's an area that demonstrates how visual effects are done by overlaying the Night King's face over one's own. - There's an Iron Throne in a small photo booth at the end of the tour just as one walks into the gift shop. A photo on the Iron Throne, with a themed album to store pictures from the full set of interactive features from the tour costs £26. There are two cafes at the Studio Tour; one inside the building entrance (i.e., before and after the tour), and another somewhere in the middle of the Tour. Lighting conditions for photographs are harsh and varied. It's probably best to use a smartphone that supports computational RAW, like Apple's ProRAW (i.e., a "Pro" series phone) or Samsung's Expert RAW, to take pictures while minimizing distraction to one's tour experience. There was surprisingly little on the Studio Tour regarding dragons when we visited in late August 2025, other than the section with the giant dragon skulls. Even the gift shop lacked dragon-themed merchandise. Tickets for the Studio Tour must be purchased in advance.
