Cuff's dining experience was fantastic.....the service was quick, professional, and super friendly. The tour is amazing as well but I recommend you stop into eat before the tour which is located in the same building (bonus).

This was sun an interesting experience and I learned a ton about the history of this prison as well as the history of Ireland. The tour itself took almost 2 hours. The self guided tour has many jail cells that have videos explaining what each room was used for and they share intriguing stories about prisoners. You get to see the gallows , solitary, a padded cell, kitchen, cells for children, and much more. Thai prison was open much longer than it should have been because it never has been updated or atleast it doesn't look like it. The end of the tour you see giant military like vehicles which was also very interesting. I would highly recommend this attraction.

Fascinating that a former prison is now a tourist attraction, filming site for movies, and a turn-key event/party space. I guess there are sections of the property that makes this all work. It's just oddly funny as having walked through the tour and hearing about the stories of hangings and executions and even marriage proposals happening here. Go figure! The Gaol Prison is indeed an attraction in the town of Belfast. With the former Court House directly across the street, now in a deteriorated state, the stories of past history is what makes this place unique. As you walk through the guided tour, you get to see where the prisoners were hung, their confined quarters, and the "sterilization" room. Eerie yet fascinating. It certainly was a sight, seeing the false bottom floor where prisoners were hung and took their last breath. The tales of why they were imprisoned and the attempted escapes were quite interesting as well. The torture devices on display were indeed once part of real history. Very well narrated tour. This is a very different kind of sight to see, that's for sure.

This was the last stop that our Belfast Black Cab Tour guide Paul, took us to see. While on this tour we didn't actually go inside, my brother and I had visited this jail turned museum experience during our previous visit to Belfast, and when I checked in, saw hadn't written a review and so am rectifying that oversight now. The Crumlin Road Jail's started life's as "The County Gaol for Antrim" and from an architectural perspective it's a fantastic example of Victorian penal architecture. It's a 5-sided wall layout, and then within those walls are 4 wings fanning from a central area known as The Circle, or Control Area. The goal was built to house between 500-550 prisoners in their own individual cells and initially also housed women and children. The jail gained its notoriety in the 1970s when a lot of IRA members were sentenced in the court right across the street and then taken via a secret tunnel built underneath the road, to the jailhouse. Also just up the road is the HQ of the Orange Order and you can identify that building by its statue of William of Orange, atop a rearing horse and with a sword held aloft. Apart from being a museum nowadays, the jail is also used for a lot of TV and films shooting. Well worth a visit! Yelp 131 / 2019

Went here after a cabbie recommended the tour. So glad that I did. The tour guide, Roy, was quite enjoyable and knowledgeable. There were only three of us on the tour, which was quite pleasant. Apparently at 2pm on a Tuesday is a great time to visit. Only downside was being stuck in traffic afterwards. So much history and sadness within these walls. Apparently they offer paranormal tours, which are held at night, which I will gladly pass on. Not my cuppa. If you are in Belfast, go here, it's only 8.50 if booked online, 9 if purchased at location. They've got a cafe called cuffs that you can visit without a tour as well.

Closed in 1996, the prison is still finding its footing as a historical spot. The history -- including Political prisoners during The Troubles -- is fascinating. I was hoping for more on the actual prisoners, especially Republican and Loyalist factions. There is still time to grow!

South route(Winterfell) and North route(Ironisland). Since north route sounded more scenic as it goes along Northern Irish coast, we chose the latter. It was £50 per person and whole day affair. So, make sure to leave your entire day open for this. We rendezvoused at Jury's hotel at 7:45am and boarded on the bus. And our guide Richard was an extra in the show himself. His red long beard once made me think that he was a Tormond's stunt double.(but he wasn't) Entire way through he was talking but NEVER ONCE I wanted him to be quiet. Because he was very informative and HILARIOUS! They are also equipped with plenty of House of Greyjoy costume and weapons(swords and axes) for photo shoot. Although we were tourists, we became the attraction ourselves when people saw us in the group wearing those, carrying weapon at the House of Greyjoy site. Every stop was breathtakingly scenic. I honestly think that you can still enjoy even if you don't watch the show. Definitely check this tour out and ask for Richard. He's really a fun guy.

The communication was clear and they allowed me to choose which tour to do instead, and I chose Iron Islands. The pick-up time was exactly what was stated on the itinerary...actually, the bus was already parked at the meeting point 10 minutes early. The guide I got was Richard and I automatically thought in my head: "he must be a Wildling...maybe, even Tormund". A few minutes later, I saw a guy that look like Ser Davos who parked right in front of our tour bus! The tour was informative without being boring. And in true GOT fashion, there were curse words...yeah!!! We went to several filming locations in the northeastern part of Northern Ireland. Oh my, were the sites amazingly beautiful! We had a lunch stop at a GOT-themed bar in Ballintoy. We had a reasonable amount of stops to see sites, stretch our legs, grab a quick snack/ drink, and bathroom break. The bus has a USB power outlet which I didn't discover until we were almost back to Belfast. This was one of the most memorable parts of my European vacation. And whatever I did and wherever I went prior to doing this tour, I had forgotten about already. I'd have to come back to Belfast to do the Winterfell tour and meet the Direwolves as well.

The trails were beautiful, filled with lots of greens and MOSQUITOS! Be careful, I didn't count them, but there were millions!!! Aside from the mosquitos, my husband loved it! He wore his cloak and took some pretty cool pictures! It was nice to see him so excited. Aside from the tour we did, they have others: Archery movie set experiences, The Narrow Sea boat voyage, Tyrion's Axe Throwing experience, Luxury Private Tours for Winterfell & Kingdom of Mourne/Luxury Private Tours for Dragonstone & Giants Causeway, Glamping Overnight Mini Breaks, and Meet the Direwolves at Winterfell Castle. They have a pretty cool but expensive gift shop as well for all of you hard core GOT fans. Tip: Online booking is highly recommended! Irelands only Game of Thrones Visitor Attraction.

Google map shows that there is a way to get here via public transportations, but definitely easier and time efficient to drive down here yourself. Admission was £8.50 per person just to get in. There are guided tour via bicycle. Although Winterfell's distinctive disk shaped roofs are all CG works, you'll recognize these buildings from "in the castle view". There are few sites in this compound that were used for other scenes such as Audley's Castle where Rob Stark set the camp during the battle of Oxcross(where he received the news of his father's death). Everything here got me excited "oh yeah! I remover here! This is from that scene!" Although I came here on my own, I'd recommend to come here via gameofthronestours.com. It's £50. Coming here on my own cost far more(£120 for rental car alone). If you are a huge GoT fan, this place is a must!

A Belfast native, he grew up during the era of the Troubles, but his memory stretches from the settlement days and in and around every corner. You'll find on his eclectic tours that you can steer the discussion in any direction you wish. You'll only fail at trying to temper his enthusiasm. I understand that he offers tours that focus on history or street art or other specific subjects or neighborhoods, but I imagine your best bet would be to do as we did and just unleash him. Belfast is a city with good restaurants and attractions but a good tour helps bring out the incredibly rich history and will certainly show you a hole-in-the-wall or two you'd never have otherwise found. We went out on the town for a pretty unscripted three hours. My 78 year-old father started to fade along the way, so Marti detoured to a nearby spot for a quick cuppa, enabling our small group the legs to carry on. Next time I may leave Dad behind in order that I might test Marti's stamina in full. And if you still aren't convinced this is a great way to introduce yourself to local lore, take a gander at the glowing comments on Trip Advisor.
