This wall features many old school consoles and peripherals for sale.

I love all the Game Over Videogames locations, and this one is no exception! Great selection of titles across tons of old school platforms, including ATARI 2600 era. They have a space toward the back for you to play test games on an old CRT TV with a couch, as well as an Artist's Alley where you can shop for awesome arts and crafts made by fans in the area! The employee working here was highly knowledgeable and spoke confidently about games, systems, etc. One dude had come in looking for a very specific title, and the employee went the extra mile to check the stock of other Game Over Videogames locations (not just his immediate store!). That was cool. I purchased a copy of Sonic Spinball for the SEGA GameGear and the employee assured me that if I had any issues with it, that I could bring it right back for a replacement or refund. I love that this is their policy! It really sets a buyer at ease, especially buying old software/hardware that's twenty or several more years old. No one likes to gamble that something may or may not be working. These guys really rock!

I am giving this a 0 (but can't do any stars), yes they have cool older games but they are misleading. I purchased a game for the xbox and they told me it will be compatible with the xbox 360. Yet when i went over to try it, it was misleading and false advertising. It told me to buy a hard drive so i went in the store to try to return it. The game was $49.99 and they told me I could trade it in for $15. When i told them that i can just sell it the person " yeah do that".

Wrong labeling made right, great customer service

Best retro gaming store in the San Antonio area. I highly recommend this store to anyone looking to relive those childhood memories.

They really know how to burn their customers…read more I've been to D-Pad several times in the past and have had virtually no problems, so it was a huge shock to me when they sold my fiancé and I several marked up PS2 games without disclosing the issues prior to purchase. There was sharpie on the discs, cases, and booklets on every single one of the games, but when we brought them back to return them a few days later they charged us a 10% restock fee because they 'weren't defective.' The guy DID tried to get the sharpie off, but outside of that the entire situation was just horrible business practice. If you shop here, open and check the PS2 cases before making a purchase. They openly admitted that they received some 200+ PS2 games that were all marked up. Hope this helps someone.

I asked the guy behind the counter, who had just got done with a transaction, my question about being compatible. He replied, " I don't know" and then proceeded to get on his phone. Six minutes went by with absolutely no interaction, no reply, no answer. That was the first time in my lifespan that I've ever seen somebody behave that way in a customer based business. I would never spend a dollar in this place and we'll make sure my word-of-mouth gets as far as it can. The guy was in his late 20s maybe with an Afro.

There's so much to look through!…read more I've never been to this location since I'm located closer to the other store, but this one has so much packed inside. There's a sea of comic books to peruse along with a gazillion Magic, Pokémon, and other trading cards. I spent at least an hour shuffling through Pokémon cards and didn't even get through their entire collection! My fiancé was a little disappointed to find out that they didn't carry One Piece singles at present but was still able to leave with a Yamato deck. They had a tournament going on in the back room as they were closing up shop, so the staff was awesome and let us look around the store a little longer before ringing us up and giving us a discount on all the Pokemon cards I selected. Seriously. These guys are COOL. It may be a little out of the way for me, but I'll be back to check out all of the comics and the rest of the cards I missed!

Firstly, when a place marks there product so high and isnt willing to match market value thats a no go for me, I dont mind a little mark up but when your paying $5 over value per card it adds up. The store its self is fine, good size and plenty of cards to look at which is nice. Staff wasnt the friendliest and when I asked if they offered a military discount the female cashier seemed annoyed by it and abruptly said no which of course is fine but she didnt need to make me feel wrong for asking. The hunt continues for my new pokemon spot.

We are here all the time…read more My fiancé have a number of game shops that we like to visit, but this is one of those that's at the top of the list. We find something every time we visit, and we'll find some gems more often than not. The store is organized super intuitively so we'll find what we're looking for with minimal effort, and if it's not in store the incredibly amazing staff will see if it's at another location for us. This location is also pretty game focused, so if you're looking for a wider selection of merch another location may be more suited for your needs. They do have some good merch, it's just not as much as some of the other locations. That being said, we've found some really cool collectibles here like gaming statues that are just too spectacular to pass up. I will be the first to admit that we look for every excuse to visit Game Over. Zero shame. This place rocks.

I'm officially in love with this chain of stores! Stopped in at one of their San Antonio locations…read more(though I am an Austinite), and I was really impressed particularly by the selection this one boasted. To an extent I realize this is based off what gets brought in by customers looking to sell, but the organization of this store was also top-notch. In addition to ATARI 2600 cartridges, there were a few select Commodore 64 and Intellivision cartridges; on the opposite side of the spectrum, they had a decent wall of PS4 and Xbox One. So practically no matter what generation console games you're looking for, you'll find it here! Loads of games for handhelds as well, including GameGear, PSP, and all the Nintendo handhelds. You'll also find some neat modern "gamer gear" like hats, wallets/lanyards, plushies, etc. Some old guidebooks and manuals. And a fridge full of beverages. This location has a console museum too, where you can step through time and admire how far video game technology has come! Some really obscure consoles in the glass cases, with descriptions of each. So rad! *w* There's also an Artist's Alley toward the back, where you can support local artists who do video game related art. I love seeing all the creativity and how gamers get inspired! I did come in to do an exchange, because one of the ATARI 2600 cartridges I'd gotten from another location turned out to be a dud. The employee, Jake, was cool about it and happily supplied me another copy they had in inventory. Gotta give him some props- he's an excellent multi-tasker. When I came in, it was pretty busy and he was the only one there, but he did great at attending to everyone and cheerfully at that, even with the phone ringing too! This location doesn't have a set-up to test/demo anything in the store (some Game Over Videogames do), but they did seem to have a backroom area where you could schedule to host a party/meet-up, and that's pretty neat.

I was greeted as soon as I walked in with big smiles from people who asked me if I needed help finding anything. I told them what I was looking for, and the lady found me several options and took the time to walk me over to the exact areas. I was in and out quickly and efficiently. I had an issue later with one of the accessories falling apart. But when I came back, a different lady apologized and explained they had been having issues with that particular item and offered to replace or refund with no hassle. Sometimes I worry about the quality of the items here. In the past I have bought items from Spirit that were pricey and didn't hold up. So I use this as a last resort. But the stellar customer service and the no hassle replacements may be factors that keep me returning, at least for accessories and free clown love.

The costumes are split up into different groupings ranging from Disney, movies/TV shows, and then to your classic Halloween costumes including the traditional college girl short skirts and animal ears. Finally, the store carries Halloween decor for your home and a few fun odds and ends to decorate for your Halloween parties.
