Unique selection. You can definitely find some hidden gems. My husband samples vinyls for making beats, and one of his favorite hobbies is crate digging. Ive been trying to get him to take a break and go to Batcave for some good music therapy and we were impressed by the owner's knowledge of the music in his shop as random a all the crates are. Super friendly and doesn't hover. We were the only ones in the shop at the time and he didn't distract by asking hundreds of questions, he just let us explore and answered questions as we had them. Highly recommend for good 'ole fashion treasure hunt. We visited this shop yesterday while exploring the north side of town for vintage spots, and I was really excited because it was my husband's birthday. The location in Artisan Alley is super cute, and from the outside the store looked promising. I was specifically hoping to find a meaningful vinyl for him. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. When we opened the door, there were records spread all over the floor and a person sitting on the ground sorting through them, making it difficult to even step inside the very small space. Between the uneven flooring and the clutter, it felt chaotic and uncomfortable to navigate. There was only one other couple inside, and honestly it already felt overcrowded. I understand small vintage shops can be eclectic, but this didn't feel organized at all. I even had to ask who the owner was because we were looking for something specific, and while he may have been busy dealing with a recent record purchase, he seemed distracted and not particularly interested in helping customers. I really wanted to love this place because it has charm and potential, but the overall experience felt stressful instead of enjoyable. read more

I would rate this business at 4.5 stars. I was on the hunt for a gift for my niece who is into records. The business is tucked away in an eclectic shopping center. When I made the turn into the driveway I almost turned around because I thought I was in the wrong spot. The is why I gave the lesser rating. You can pass right by and miss it. Now to the actual shop. There are cool posters and stuff on the wall. They have records from every genre and period. I found a double record in pristine condition and it was only $20. The owner can order records or help you locate hard-to-find records which is very cool. I am glad that I stumbled upon this store and may go back again for another gift. read more

This place ROCKS! You won't find a better selection or knowledge anywhere in South Texas. They have all the vinyl special editions, super friendly service and will go out of their way to help. It's a bit hard to find so turn right into the parking lot at the Alley at Bitters and you'll see it in the corner. Check out Toto - the little dog that belongs to the owner. The business was kinda hidden in an office building, but it was clearly marked on the door. Stopped in last year and they had a good selection of music on vinyl. Picked up some fairly rare stuff in good condition. The owner had a record player so I could sample what I wanted to buy. If I'm ever back in town I will stop by again. read more

Prices are way too high. This guy will try to sell you a used record marked up an extra $20-$30. I highly suggest you price his records online before buying if you don't know much about the value of "used" records. Honesty, that's just bad business. There are way more successful and popular shops in town that don't insult their customers with ridiculous prices. That makes me question if the autographed memorabilia they have is even legit, make sure to ask for a certificate of authenticity if you plan on buying those from anyone. Never going back, never recommending this place. I regret even going in to check this place out. It's sad that businesses like this are part of the vinyl record scene in SA. read more
