If you decide to cash in and sell your items to them, remember that if you ask for you money in cash you will get less than if you have it as a CEX store voucher so best bet is to swap for store credit and replace the stuff you didn't want for stuff you'd love. Recently I got rid of a load of DVDs I'd been given over the years and an ancient phone and got series 1 of heroes instead great deal as I wanted that and wasn't using any of the stuff I sold.

Don't get me wrong, occasionally you can get a good deal or something a bit different, but I really do mean occasionally . There is not a huge amount of choice in terms of electronics and accessories nowadays, and what they do have is really overpriced. As for the games, to be honest, I can get them cheaper brand new in most cases, so I have given up even looking. I know they are a business and they need to make a profit, but selling second hand games for more than they cost brand new makes no sense to me. Perhaps things will look up in time, but for the moment at least, there are far better places I would recommend.

The location has two massive stories of wall-to-wall geeky joy. Books, action figures, art, video gaming goodness; it's got it all. I appreciated how everything was very well organized (largely by pop culture features/brands). It was so well organized that I didn't need to actually ask for any directions or help finding stuff.

The shop can be quiet alot of the time, and some of the stock remains in the shop for months. The staff are friendly and personal and experts in the field of video games in general.

Gametron is also good for retro games, especially Gameboy cartridges. They have some good bargain…read morebins with old carts and controllers for 50p. They seem to do a good trade in second-hand consoles and some of the rarer, collectible stuff and sell lots of Japanese imports. If the shop isn't too busy, they'll happily plug in a game for you to try, or just let you have a go on whatever they've been playing when they didn't have customers. The owner has been trading games in Cambridge for as long as I can remember, must be 15 or 20 years now. Customer service is very good, if you do buy a second-hand game which doesn't work properly, they refund or replace with no fuss at all.

Worst part though was the truly useless customer service when I contacted them to find out where the heck my stuff was. Confrontational, blame shifting and unable to even muster an apology or read my emails properly. I've spent €1,000s here in the past but they won't be getting a penny more from me. I know their discount is tempting but there are other retailers with similar discounts and WAY better attitudes.

Okay, before I even begin to write this review, let me start with... no, they are not actually…read more"toys" they are miniatures. And no, I do not play with the miniatures, but the man I love does. And of course, that has direct repercussions on our household life. It means many hours walking by Games Workshop and Dark Sphere to pick up things for his army. It means many hours helping him paint tanks and aliens. It means bookshelves in our cramped apartment devoted to paints, men with little guns, and armored aliens. It means all of this to me. But of course so much more to my husband. With my husband's discovery of Dark Sphere, it means that he can now complete his army and get 25% off. Not only does that make him happy, that makes me happy too! Because that 25% in savings usually means treating me out to a nicely deserved weekly dinner for being a very tolerant wifey! (You can save 20% when dropping their shop, or 25% by ordering online, OR you can even order online and then pick up in their shop!) P.S. They're currently moving to a less crowded location! This is a little gem. Although it is a games shop where you can buy playstation and various other…read moregames it is also a great place for a birthday party. I have an 8 year old who wanted a party there. Basically for £15 a head you get 10 children maximum that take over the shop - they shut the shop for this two hour period and you get to play on all the playstations, wii, xbox, etc and then there is a fun football challenge at the end with a prize for the over all winner. You get sausage and chips or something similar from the chip shop next door and the kids love it. The man who owns the shop is lovely and the guys he has working there are really helpful. The kids had a great time and that is the main thing.
