I'm visiting from Hawaii, and there are no stores like it besides thrift shops and buy/sell bookstores where you only hope someone donates or sells their games, which is very rare, and also hope they're not incredibly overpriced, which is often. I found Gamedeals and Press Start. I went to Gamedeals first, and it's in the same area as Press Start in New Westminster. I wish I can to Press Start first! It's a small store and messily organized because it's jam packed with everything retro. I was just interested in NES games. Their quantity isn't much, but their prices are a lot better than the other store. They also have more rare games, but they were still overpriced, just not as much. The person who helped me was very friendly and helpful. He's genuinely into this stuff and it clearly shows! I grabbed another load of NES games even though I said I wouldn't because I still had to carefully pack it away in my luggage. Next trip, I'll just bring an empty suitcase with bubble wrap! Overall, I wish there were more stores and people who sell retro games fairly and reasonably because the people buying are collectors too and look to just collect. Most people just price gouge like crazy just looking for the uninformed customers. I'm glad Press Start Video Games doesn't do that. All their games are guaranteed with a 14 day return policy (much better than 7 days at other stores). Just a great store! Reminded me of a video game store in Kaimuki I went to every Saturday when I was a kid. I regret not buying more NES games at that time!

What I really didn't like was that the trading cards my husband looked through for close to an hour were all individually priced. When he was about to take them up to pay for them, he was informed that the prices on the cards were not the prices, and that he would have to "look them all up" Are you kidding me ? #1 If items are priced- that should be the price you pay. PERIOD #2 If this is your policy - have a sign or take the price tags off. This really pissed me off since there were literally hundreds of cards that had prices on them ! #3 Price the cards before they are put out on the floor & people look at them ! #4 Tell the person looking BEFORE they spend an hour wasting their time !! So, this guy was planning on raising prices as we were about to pay - I don't think that is fair business practices! My husband was planning on spending a few hundred dollars - but after this we left without buying anything. This place could be so much better if changes were put in place. But what impressed me the most it's how clean , tidy and well-organized everything is in the store . Yes because of their enhanced square footage they can and do carry a lot more stock than other locations but it's really the way how everything is placed and presented that makes the difference . I also dig how they have not just one but several copies of , for example , newly released Star Wars figures to populate the pegs . In all it was worth the trip !

Reset Games is one of my go-to game stores in Bellingham. They have an amazing selection of games…read moreranging from the earliest Atari games to modern console titles. Also, they have many different consoles there, and at good prices too! Sometimes they will have rarer consoles in stock like the Atari Jaguar or the Virtual Boy. They also have great deals on consoles. The prices may seem higher than market for the consoles, but that is because if you buy a console, it comes with OEM cables and controllers included, not 3rd party junk. For example, I got a VG condition non-yellowed SNES for $90 with all the previously mentioned accessories included. The staff are happy to accept a return within 30 days of a purchase with a full refund, which is very nice if an item stops working after a few days. As for trade-ins or selling, Reset Games will not currently accept defective/broken items as they do not offer a repair service. If you want to sell broken/defective items, go to Cosmic Games, as they offer a good repair service. The only slight downside is that the game prices are sometimes a bit higher than competing stores in the area, but their massive selection of games makes up for that. In conclusion, Reset games is a great game store. I always love stopping by. It's a must-visit for gamers.

Every copy was bad. Every console I have gotten from there was busted and not tested properly. Multiple PS2 slims with dying disk drives. So, I went to their sister store down south. [over a 3-hour drive] Their staff told me they tested the ps2 they had. We drove back home and within 5 min the 1st controller port was bad and making the controllers loose connection and power. (how can you miss this if it was properly tested?) Also, that ps2 couldn't read disks towards the end of the disk. We have sold them a console ourselves and watched how they test consoles. They turn it on, throw a disk in, and if the disk reads, they just shut it off. There is no performance testing done, or everything I have said above would have been caught. BEWARE OF CONSOLES YOU BUY FROM HERE. ASK TO DO YOUR OWN TESTING BEFORE HANDING THEM MONEY, AS THEY WILL NOT GIVE BACK A REFUND, ONLY STORE CREDIT! They lost a customer that goes in spending 500 to 800 bucks a visit today. Their staff (dude with blue hair) told me they don't normally return consoles until I told him I spoke to someone in a higher position about this already, then, he wanted me to fill him in on what I was told so he could follow their policy better. Seemed like he was trying to cut me off on returns until I notified him, but I knew better already. Cosmic Games not only sell everything that Reset Games has, but they also do repairs, and their employees don't try to lie to me. They have made 1000s off of me and counting. Any issues I have had, they fix without charge as far as consoles or handhelds that I have purchased goes. Cosmic Games IS THE SUPIRIOR STORE costs more but WAY MORE accommodating and professional.

This time unfortunately was unfortunately not the case. I stopped in to pickup a double pack blu ray dvd movies from them. I only realized later I already owned this one and wanted to bring it back to exchange it for something else. I have exchanged things in the past without a problem and they had been very accommodating before so didn't think it would be an issue this time. I explained to one of the staff members the situation, her name is Jo and she told me that because one of the discs had this green hue and scratches on it, that she they the store would not have accepted this in to sell at the store, therefore they could not have sold it to me and she refused to take it back. I was not aware of this as I did not check or look at the time of purchasing these blu ray dvds as I trusted they claimed they had a strict policy of checking their discs everytime they are traded in. It was another staff of her's that sold it to me and I didn't check the disc nor would I have known what to look for as it was only my second time buying a blu ray movie from them as I bought usually mostly game cartridges from them and I trusted them to sell the customer good condition discs if she claimed they were so picky about buying used discs. This is obviously a lie as if she claimed they checked it how would they have sold me a disc in such poor condition? I was very upset to hear this and I left the first time and came back the next day wanting to resolve the issue and see if they could rectify the situation and I had asked to speak with the owner manager and this staff member Jo straight away cut me off and said only she deals with these situations as the owners don't deal with it and she was very firm on not accepting it back, despite them selling this in the first place to me and even implied I switched the discs out and tried to return it to them as it had been close to the 30 day exchange/return policy. I do not live in the area and I was working a lot therefore I couldn't come in earlier. Jo then instead of trying to help me she then proceeded to tell me that I can take the resurfacing or or leave it and I do not have to come back to shop here again if I was not happy. She was extremely rude, impatient and very unprofessional dealing with this situation. She obviously does not care about her customers at all despite them being a longtime customer supporting the business. I was very shocked and disappointed to hear this from willow video. They will sell you defective product and then proceed to lie and accuse you of wrong doing and deny that they made a mistake in selling defective product to their customers instead of rectifying the mistake. This is the worst and most appalling customer service I have ever received from any business.

I'll say it out loud, it's probably not the best shop to go to, but they do have a massive amount of inventory of back list titles that would otherwise be difficult to find. I've been on a bit of retro-game binge lately, and games for systems like the GBA/GC/PSP (to a lesser extent) are harder and harder to come by. Thankfully, these guys seem to stock a lot of them. You can find the odd gem, and it's probably something you'd need to keep on top of to find what you are looking for, but it can be done. Gone are the days when Willow(in my area), Microplay/Gaming Ground Zero are around to provide viable alternatives to EB Games, so now we are left with very few options in terms of shopping around at strictly game-centric retail stores. The store offers some features from a bygone era, such as offering cash for your trade ins. I'm not sure how much they give you (I overheard the guy offering $90 in-store credit for a PS Vita, or $60 cash) or how the process works, but it isn't a feature that I'm keen to take advantage of. They will also buy and sell PCs as well as iPods, old cell phones and consoles/games/peripherals. By no means am I a regular customer. I think I've been to the store a few times since it's opened, and only bought a harder to find game a while ago. As I mentioned, they have a large amount of inventory, that in some cases seems prohibitive, and it certainly could use better organizing. None of the games are filed in any sort of discernible method, which means you'll have to go over each game case by hand. This can lead to some interesting finds for sure, and I'm not really certain if they have a basic inventory system (it might all be in the guy's head). I do wish their PSP section was better displayed (the UMD cases arranged haphazardly in a glass case does not make for easy discovery). That being said, things are priced moderately. If the owner is reading this, please for your sake and the sake of your customers re-arrange your product so that it is sort of alphabetical or even sub-categorical, and easier to shop. They seem to also have a huge amount of newer product behind the counter, but it isn't exactly clear what is behind there, or how much it is. I'll probably go back at some point when I'm in the area to look around.

The "coffee bar" is a laugh, and since they have it there, they don't let people bring in their Starbucks or whatever while they look around. They try to be "renaissance" by having music events and classes and suchlike, but they should probably just take a good hard look at their store and their selection and focus on being a good used bookstore.

There prices are about 20% more than the highest eBay price. I would venture to say 30 to 40% more than press start in new west or game bit in mission. Honestly I wanted super Mario Allstars for my snes. This guy wanted $69 for it. I went to press start and it was $29. That's $40???? Over double the competition. Avoid this con man at all costs. Seriously there is like 10 retro game stores in the lower mainland. Take a drive, it will literally cost less in gas then to deal with this bozo. Or order the most expensive copy of what your looking for on eBay. You will still save money. I was in there yesterday, their games are also in shit condition. There snes and nes games. So not only are they ridiculously expensive, they are ridiculously expensive shit. :)

Fun fact! I'm poor now.

Not a single problem encountered with purchases , refunds , and picking up online orders etc . Walls that were once full of video games have now given way to Funkos, Shopkins and Slime. I guess that since more people download games online, brick-and-mortar stores have to evolve in order to survive. This store is cramped and the inventory is messy and unorganized. They have a lot of "collectible" items, but a lot of them are not in mint condition anymore because patrons mishandle them. Merchandise can be found cheaper on-line or at big-box stores. However, some collectible toys are "EB Game Exclusives" which mean that they aren't sold elsewhere. I wasn't happy about my last visit. I was waiting in line, but was told later that the line started elsewhere. The queue was not clearly identified. While waiting in the correct line, the customers ahead of me were all given a lengthy spiel by the cashiers about why they should purchase accidental damage insurance. This lengthened what should have been a minute transaction into a 4 minute transaction. All told, I waited in line for about 10 minutes, which is way too long. Avoid the lineups and pushy salespeople and buy online.

This store isn't called Mishra's anymore, it's now "Core Games", new name, but same great store…read more Core is the best place for any gamer needs. the guy who runs the place is friendly, knowledgeable, and and absolute pleasure to deal with. There is a $1 rare bin that often has some incredible finds in it, and if it's not in there you can ask for it, odds are they have it in one of the many boxes and binders behind the counter and will happily find it for you. The selection of anime, puzzles, board games, and the like is also very impressive. If you're a gamer, you owe it to yourself to check this place out.
