Literally the PERFECT place for board games. We came here as a group of 7 and there was plenty of table space. The owners/employees were super friendly and the food was delicious. They also had a lot of games, obviously. There is a small minimum spend, which is totally worth it. I was shocked and how much I enjoyed the food! Food - 4.5/5 4/5 - Buffalo Chicken Dip (not pictured) - this was so tasty and such a nice snack. Felt homemade and had a kick to it. I'd get it again, perfect snack for board games. 4.5/5 - Cookies and Cream Pie - Omg. A slice of pie that isn't a cake nor a cheesecake. Whatever the case, I loved every bite. Wasn't overly sweet, a nice size, and really hit home. Loved it and so did everyone in my group. Ambiance - 5/5 - Again, the perfect place and ambiance for board games. So overwhelming! There are so many games here you won't even know where to start.All the games are categorized into sections to help find the perfect games to play with your friends. From strategy to simple party games, you'll find many options to fill your night. You can also ask the staff for help with recommendations if you're new to board games or stuck in a rut of always playing the same ones so many times that you feel you might as well have just bought it. The food is basic and nothing special, but if you're hungry they have decent options. The kettle chips are my fave! You get a big bowl for like $4 and it's a good price if you're splitting with friends. The overall atmosphere is a little professional. Not the cozyiest of places but it gets the job done. PS Don't forget the key words in the title! Games ON TAP. They serve alcohol if you're looking for a night of drinks to go with your board game fun! PPS Groups of 3+ people are usually ideal for these types of places since there's only so many games you can play with 2 people. read more

They have 900+ boardgames but they are so popular we had to wait for a long time to get a place to sit. I tried their Nutella latte because it is their all-time-fav on the menu. It was no more than a regular latte you can get everywhere and you cannot taste any nutella because the only bit of nutella is on the spoon used to stir it. It is pretty disappointing to be honest. My friend ordered hot apple cider, IT IS SO GOOD and if I come back next time I will try that one instead. Anywayz, the atmosphere is 10/10. read more

Came here last night with 2 other friends and we had an absolute blast! The boardgame cafe is really chilll. Also it was much less crowded than crossroads on king and the selection of games doubled crossroads as well. We ordered some snacks and tried new boardgames. One of the boardgames, which none of us have played before, was Pandemic. We asked the waitress if she could explain it to us and she brought someone to tell us about it. He took atleast 15 minutes patiently explaining it and setting it up for us with an awesome positive attitude! Overall Games on Tap is a nice place to unwind and have fun with friends! Came here once with my friend and immediately knew I was going to love it. The inside is very warm and cozy. It was a nice surprise to walk in and see how classy it was despite what it looks like on the outside. It was actually quite spacious too! We came on a Saturday afternoon and I'm pretty sure we spent around 5 hours in there until it started getting busy in the evening and we overstayed our time. Our waiter did let us know ahead of time, however, that we were allowed to stay as long as we want until it starts getting busy, in which we would only be allowed to stay for 3 hours. It's $5/person to stay and play games which is very worth it! Our waiter was VERY nice and helpful; they all are! They even offer to explain how to play some of the games that they know how to play. I was impressed with our waiter's in-depth explanation about a game called Tokaido. It probably would have taken me and my friend a long time to figure it out hahaha. Sometimes it helps to have someone explain it to you verbally. But I was glad I game. I got to try out so many different games and now I know which ones were fun and which ones I would play again. There are A LOT of board games here; to save time, you might even want to look up some that you're interested in before you even go there lol. I recommend trying out their Jenga remix game, where you add on pieces instead of taking away pieces. Such a fun twist on Jenga! I ordered an iced tea (which comes with 1 free refill) and we got the nachos. I like that they offer snacks here. Their default iced tea is VERY sweet, like canned iced tea sweet, but I'm sure you can ask for less sugar if you prefer it that way. I could have gone for less sugar. I'm so glad I tried this place out. I will definitely come here again! I'm recommending it to all my friends. read more

Really great service from the staff - constant water refills when necessary, checkins, wide variety of games to choose from, and decently priced food and beverage items as well! Great atmosphere and location, though parking can be a bit painful to figure out (back of building down one steep side of building). Nice interior, fresh food, nice and friendly staff. Didn't notice any sort of sound damping panels (important in large spaces when many gamer gather). Quiet during the day and early evening with decent enough space, but I can see this spot loud at the busy times. Needs a few more tables in the space as well. My main concern is, as a long-time and hard core board-gamer (40+ years now), I was a bit underwhelmed by the selection of games. Admittedly, most of the familiar Euro and Ameritrash are there, along with many lighter/filler-type games, but there were also a very noticeable selection of Milton Bradley flat box type games mostly suitable for very very very causal gamers I could pick up at most garage sales. Maybe a third of the game inventory on display struck me this way. That said, any game cafe is a good one, and the space is modern fresh clean and new (food is also pretty good) so I'll give this 3/5 for the time being. read more

This place is awesome! The interior is designed in a way that's very cozy, warm-feeling, and spacious. We got in Friday night, so it was crowded, but even then, you can still hear the people at your table, which helps with playing games. My friends got desserts (berry crumble cake and Nutella panini) and they seemed happy with those. I only got a smoothie, but I was happy they let you substitute dairy milk with soy milk (I'm vegan)!!!! The staff here are extremely friendly, helpful, polite, and attentive. read more

We showed up last night for an impromptu night, only to discover that it was actually trivia night and they were fully booked. : ( By some stroke of luck, a table of 4 had cancelled though so we were able to get their table. $5/pp to play the games and trivia was included. It was a lot of fun, I really enjoyed the trivia more than some of the other locations we've played at, and the food was really good too. We had a pitcher of Steam Whistle, the grilled cheese sampler and a pepperoni flat bread, as well as a nutella latte. Everything was great, we'll definitely be back! read more

Cool and chill atmosphere with a wide variety of board games available. Cafe food, from paninis to salads are available with a decent selection of beer. Staff were very friendly and helpful with the recommendations for the type of board games. Had a nice Sunday afternoon with friends here. They have a wide selection of games which was really nice. I tried their B-52, which was not that great, but their brownies+vanilla ice cream was to die for. When I ordered my first brownie, I didn't realize I can have ice cream with it, so once I found out I HAD to order the second one.It was a very enjoyable place, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to play board games for a few hours, or just sit there and study a bit - I think they allow that on weekdays before 6:30pm. read more
