Incredibly disappointing. I ordered a gift card for my half brother's birthday, it was supposed to be delivered via email. It never was. I called and they told me they would delivery it via regular mail. Four days later it never showed up so I called again, and they told me my order didn't exist. Can't recommend the Corvallis Game Stop. Their staff don't know the game requirements, they sold us something we didn't want (we asked for something without online play/membership requirements and that is what they sold us, online required game) and now won't return it because we opened it and realized it wasn't what we wanted. The same game is half the price online so we can't even sell it to recover. Guess my next purchase well be online, so much for supporting local business. read more

I'm not a huge gamer and I've never been up to date on the systems. I'm almost 30 and the most money I've ever spent on a console was $200 for an Xbox 360. Two years ago, I couldn't afford an Xbox, so I bought a used PS2 slim from Gamestop. It was $60 and after two years, I've had no problems with it. I've been into this Gamestop about 6 or 7 times and for the most part, the employees have been friendly and helpful. When I picked up my copy of GTA V, the guy told me, "And just to remind you, it's an 8 GB game, so if your Xbox is only 4 GB, you might need a new storage device." I felt pretty dumb because I couldn't remember how many gigs my console had. He offered to sell me a new portable storage device but told me not to open it until I found out if there was enough space on my console. That way, I could return it if I didn't need it. I really felt like he was helping me, rather than just trying to make a sale. Nevertheless, I did need the storage device, but had he not reminded me of the gigs, I would have went home, found out that the game didn't work, probably wouldn't know why, would make another trip to Gamestop, and would THEN buy the storage device. The guy I talked to saved me the hassle. read more

Last night we went to the Corvallis Gamestop and talked to them and purchased a game with some DLC. When we got the game home it was not what we were hoping it would be. I took it back in today and explained the misunderstanding and they gave me a FULL REFUND! Because it was opened and had downloadable content I expected them to tell us no way, or give us partial in store credit... I was floored by how painless the experience was. This reminds me why I like Gamestop and brick & mortar stores. I might be able to save a few dollars online but I doubt I would have gotten personal help or a refund from an online retailer. read more

I bought multiple refurbished xbox 1's from the Corvallis Gamestop. Each one would not work after a few weeks. After bringing back the 3rd, I ask for my money back because you cannot continue to give me a broken product for 500$. They refused, they offered me an option to pay them 20$more for a new one. That is right, pay them because their product would not work. They tried to ignore the fact that I had purchased a warranty (I did not want to go set up a 4th refurb). Their policy is that anything over 7 days will not be returned for cash. I talked to a manager that said, as i was receiving my second xbox, "Yeah, if this one doesn't work we can just give you cash back." Lies, straight to my face. Never buying refurbished again, sadly I must use my "in store credit" at a gamestop somewhere. read more

GameStop is a company that should be about helping the gamer as well as making the experience better to get games worth while. This is something Corvallis GS is lacking. In the simplest ways to put it, they are hunting to push sales on customers that may or may not be seasoned gamers. I watched as they continued to push sales on a Latin family that barely understood what they were buying and started to tax on the "system care" and additional controllers to them. They clearly were there for there kids birthday (I caught up with them after purchase) and felt like they spent more than they needed. They are very sleazy about there work. The staff is made up of a close group of friends that will only accept people they see qualified to join there "nitch." Applying is a joke. I wanted to work for them since gaming is something I'm passionate about but they said they are only required to post ads for hiring due to corporate wants. (Management response and multiple staff confirmed that) They strive for sales but at the expense of the gamer. They will know they sell trash products and anticipate that you won't come back in to return them. Staff acts like they know about most products but only push towards over stocked items to "increase revenue" and make the staff look successful. My personal experience would be when I went to buy a headset that I had asked the staff about on multiple trips if it was worth the $60 and how it was for gaming. "Oh it's the best, I use these at home" After 3 days of using them I realized the standard headset that my console came with was better than the mattress cushions and wonky headset they pushed me to buy. The best part is when I returned with the headset, I received horrible attitude from the female staff member about why I returned it and a "good luck with whatever you buy next" They push for sales on unnecessary items and don't carry a lot of products that are worth the value. If you want something, sure go and get it but don't expect great service unless it's a hot item that they are pushing to sell. Product knowledge at a GameStop should be pretty easy considering they just stand there all day, but nope. Try online ordering or the Game stores your console offers before getting conned into unwanted items. read more

Took my nintendo 3ds in here after the battery gave up on me. I had ordered a new battery off a random site, but the screws in the back of the DS were so small I couldn't get the back off. I took it in and an employee (didn't catch his name, but he's been there for a while. Really tall with Glasses and a goatee) immediately got to work searching the whole store for the right screwdriver. It was a regularly busy day, enough that the other cashier could handle it, but he still took time help me without making me feel like I was being a pain. It probably took him 15 minutes but he finally got the new battery in and even got a charger out to plug it in and check the charge for me. My 3ds is working great again, and he helped me at no charge without ever acting annoyed that I was taking up his time. Really cool to see someone take the extra mile at corporate places like this where they don't get paid extra to do stuff like that. I always love GameStop and always feel welcome in there. read more

i like this store and the people who work there seem to be knowledgeable about most of the games . i love being able to purchase a game for less then the new price new out of the other stores.and this is for the wieners who are not happy about there purchases from here who do not realize that we live in the age of computers and before you buy anything you should research it before you make a purchase. every game has to have internet you wont need it to play the games but you will have updates even for online they fix bugs. so in closing don't be an ass and post when its your fault. this is a great store friendly , knowledgeable, curtious, staff read more
