First timer at this GameStop location. Turns out, this is one of the biggest, nicest GameStops we have been too. We called ahead and they had the game we were looking for, so we took the drive to Gainesville. They are located in a strip mall (i believe near a walmart). The staff was knowledgeable, friendly and busy. My teenage son even said "hey, this store is nice mom!! ". We had fun walking around shopping (video games for every system, t-shirts, collectibles, Pokemon and Yugioh cards), stuffed animals, etc. etc. Check it out, its a very nice clean fun store! read more

I Walked in with a simple question in mind, "Are you currently taking PS5 preorders" as I walked in, a employee named Brain, behind the register and face shield asked if I had a Mask, I stated "oh sorry I forgot, I have one in the car, standing at the entrance, I said I'm not looking to shop around, I just had a quick question, so are you guys currently accepting PS5 preorders, Brain said Facemask, I said I understand I'll get one it was a quick question, brain kept only saying face mask, face mask , over and over even cutting me off multiple times mid sentence and even raising his voice over mine, just to repeat face mask. I work it a place where facemask are also required , but we greet the customer at a safe distance , acknowledge that we can help them, and then ask politely ask if they can wear a face mask, if they have a question instead of trying to look around, we quickly answer it so we and the customer can move forward, Brain was extremely rude, and used this situation as a power trip, He needs to be properly trained on how to handle customer interactions in regards to policy around face masks, like kindly setting expectations, acknowledging request , sympathizing , and Strategically preventing escalations. To prevent escalations or portraying the sense of rudeness , he could have answered and can continue assisting me after I get a face mask and state "but in regards to you question yes or no". Following this interaction I got my face mask from my car and I came back in just for him to answer in 1 quick word, NO. Very unprofessional and irritating interaction, with this employee, other interactions with other employee's here before have been great, and kind, just not with brain. read more

I am writing this review in reference to Gamestop as a whole since I placed my order online. I placed an order for an Animal Crossing Nintendo Switch and screen protector on 1/2/2021. I received my package shortly after, but all that was in the package was a Nintendo Switch case, which I did not order. I contacted Gamestop and they said they would send me a return label and once they received the package, I would get my refund. So I returned it and waited. After a couple weeks passed, I checked the status of the package since I still had the tracking number, and it stated it was received at their facility. At that point I had not received any email or anything regarding my refund. So I contacted Gamestop again, and they said once the package was scanned it would process the refund. Again, nothing. I kept going back and forth about 6 different times and each time I was told that either the refund was being processed, or that the request to process was not yet sent. Finally, the last person I spoke too said they sent in a request to process the refund and I should be getting an email for it. The next day I did receive an email, but only for the screen protector. The money was in my bank account shortly after. So it IS possible to process a refund quickly. However, I had not received an email or refund regarding the Nintendo Switch. I thought to just wait a bit because given the pandemic, I figured things might be backed up. At this point, my husband had a work accident which distracted me for a while, so I didn't follow up with the issue. I can tell you though that all this time (it is now end of March) and I have still not received an email nor a refund for the Nintendo. So I contacted Gamestop again, and again was told they would put in the request for a refund. That was over a week ago. Today, March 26, 2021, still not having heard anything from them, I again contacted Gamestop. This time I finally got a bit more information and hopefully a resolve. I was told that instead of a refund, a REPLACEMENT was submitted for the Nintendo Switch. First off, I did not ask for a replacement, I asked for a refund. And second, I have not received any replacement at all for the Nintendo. So now Im refundless and Nintendoless. Well, to stretch out this already long journey, they submitted an investigation to see what happened to the package which will take another 3-5 business days. At least they made an extra effort to investigate, but what upsets me is I have been more than patient and they just seem to not care. They are not losing any money and are toying around with my hard earned money. I was already weary of Gamestop to begin with, but I gave them the benefit of doubt and placed the order with them.
