Absolutely outstanding customer service. Game stop is one of the businesses that I can usually depend on for friendly and knowledgeable customer service. I have to say that last week absolutely renewed my faith in this companies ability to deliver that level of service. The receipt reads 349078 John for the employee name and employee number. The service level was above and beyond. I was in the game stop for about 30-45 minutes browsing, picking up a few things, and updating my membership. In the time that I was there I saw about a dozen customers come in and everyone of them left smiling or laughing after checking out. Including a parent child duo that entered the store arguing, but after a few minutes at the counter, some information doled out by John, and a couple laughs also left smiling. One person handing that many customers and everyone left happy... I can not say enough. Most games stops are good, but the experience here was great. Preordered a game that released tonight and have gone to this store twice since then to make sure they'd be doing a midnight release for the game. I was last in the store and asked on Saturday the 15th and they confirmed for me again that it would be a midnight release. I got there at 11:15 to be early, and they closed their gates at 11:20something. I walked up to the door and asked if they were not still having their midnight release and the associate told me no, it was at 11. I explained to him that I had been told twice by an employee at that store that it was to be at midnight and asked if there was anything I could do and he told me that they had already closed their registers. I am normally a model customer and rarely complain. I work retail, and have worked in the food industry and I know that sometimes the customer isn't always right. I've had my share of headache customers and ones that have tried to kick in our locked doors after hours. I'm not that person. I'm just highly miffed that after triple checking that it would, in fact, be at midnight, me getting there what I thought was 45 minutes early and ending up being 15 too late is something that could have easily been avoided. I have been following this game for months and preordered practically the day it was made available for preorder and had paid it in full so there'd be no headache for the associate when I finally got my game. I'm just really questioning why even if it was an 11o'clock release that they would close so soon after? And when someone who had preordered walked up as soon as the gates were being drawn would have been turned away since it was still within the hour? Generally it just sucks and I feel this could have been avoided by either A) employees knowing what they're talking about when it comes to big game releases or B) them being open long enough for people who would have shown up to the 11o'clock release to have been able to make their transactions. If it wasn't for the fact that I am receiving bonus content for preordering this game, I'd ask for a refund of my order tomorrow and buy it elsewhere. I certainly won't be preordering/doing business with this particular Gamestop again after this experience. read more
