Stopped here with my son to get a new game controller for him. The service was ok. The staff wasn't the friendliest, but luckily my son could find what he needed on his own. The store was organized and clean. They had what he wanted in stock at a somewhat reasonable price. We got what he wanted and left. Not much else to say. Every time I buy a gift card it says "invalid code" I come back here and they say "oh well" and it's a complete pain in the ass even after I show them where it says invalid code card not activated. Stay away from here they don't give a fuck read more

So I normally do retro game stores but I try to give gamestop some business when possible. The good: the folks here are friendly and can offer lots of advice on video games and accessories. I dont hate on them for upselling: it is part of their job. From a collector point of view: they sell games as new that have been opened. I find this annoying as new is sealed to me. Someone opens it up it is no longer new. They do have a lot of sales off and on that give some good opportunities to pick up games at decent prices and if you shop in store you will know if you are getting an original case and manual (if applicable ) From a gamer view: fun place, fun people, good location. read more

This is a legit GameStop location, not perfect.. but worth it should you be in search of a retail store to satisfy your gaming needs. I've been coming here since they opened back in '09/'10.. They've always been good to me, as far as staff interactions and carrying what I'm looking for. The selection of games here I would say is up to par with your standard GameStop. I have been to larger and I've been to smaller stores. Yet, I would say they all seem to carry the same amount of product, larger stores tend to have more shelf space against the walls to utilize in display where as the smaller ones often have to resort to 'grab bins' on the floor.. you know those large bins filled with sales. Now with any GameStop location, there are chances the store won't carry the game/item you're looking for should it be used. All brand new popular games/items they tend to have in stock, but if it's a 'used' version of that item you're looking for, as to save money on your purchase, call ahead and make sure they have it. I've been shopping at GameStop since I was a kid & if it was a used game I was looking for I always called between three locations, this being one of them. For example... Back in September'15 I wanted to purchase the Forza 6 Xbox One, this location was out of the bundles, but I was able to locate at store in Mechanicsville.. Few months back I was looking for used copy of Naruto Shippuden Storm 4, a week or so after it had came out, and luckily they had one. People are correct this store can get pretty crowed. I've been in this store multiple times and had to wait in a hefty line. I feel it's a based lm the popularity of the store, being the only dedicated game store in the area. Each time I got caught in a line it had been at peak hours, like an hour or two after the 9-5ers got off & were bringing their kid(s) to grab a game, or around holidays. The staff do everything they can to move the lines, while assisting customers in making their selections. The employees are extremely helpful and friendly.. in my years coming here never have I had a negative customer service experience. read more

I called for some information and Donald was a GREAT help! His personality made him very easy to speak to and he delivered the information with much professionalism and excitement. It was nice to see someone as excited as me for the Switch! The smallest and least stocked Gamestop in Richmond. This shop isn't even half the size of the store near VCU but always has twice the customers. Service is slow, selection is limited, and parking is surprisingly worse than the one actually in the city. I only stop in here if I happen to be in the area and want to trade some things in. read more

God this place SUCKS. Has to be THE WORST Gamestop in Richmond. Staff is rude, ghetto and slow. Same with their customers. Do yourself a favor and just go to the Best Buy across the street. They have better deals and promotions anyway. They also do trade in's too. read more

Ronnie that's not an option now since Best Buy is closed. The store can be a little slow at times due to the volume of customers but the staff is really nice and informative, especially the one young lady who knows all the Final Fantasy and Metal Gear info. Cool place. read more
