My husband and I haven't bowled in a long time, so we decided to check out Gametime. The place itself is great. They offer ten pin and candlepin bowling, arcade and axe throwing. We played candlepin, which was a lot of fun. Our fun was short lived when we were done bowling. It costs $30 an hour for candlepin. After bowling for an hour, we went to the counter to check out. (You can't "stop the clock" yourself at the lane). There are separate counters for the bowling area and arcade area. There was only 1 girl working both counters. I actually didn't see anyone else working in the whole place. That said, we waited approximately 15 minutes for the girl to finish waiting on a family at the arcade counter before coming over to the bowling counter to check us out. We were charged $38.50; $30 for bowling and $8.50 to stand around waiting to cash out! read more

We paid the $10 "fast pass" on line, when we got there we were told we had to wait 45 mins. when two lanes freed up they wouldn't let us bowl because someone paid $200 reservation fee. $200 to reserve lanes! We were there today called to reserve lanes they said the don' reserve them. Spent over $300 was watching the U Miami game with 2 minutes left they changed the channel I asked the to change back they said someone reserved the tv for the Michigan game which hadn't even started and would not change it back. Not sure why yelp is still saying this place is closed because it isn't, it just isn't Leo's anymore. This place is so much fun. The offer ten pin and candlepin bowling. They even have glow in the dark nights with a few lanes that remain fully lit for those that need it. They also have a massive arcade, a full bar/ restaurant with trivia and axe throwing. I did axe throwing about a month ago and it was a blast. They assign you an attendant that teaches you the technique for throwing and will even help you if you're struggling. You can purchase a bunch of different apps to snack which were delicious. The scoring is automated so all you have to do is push a button to keep score and keep track of who's turn it is. I have been to this location several times and have never had the experience that I did yesterday night. I reserved a lane for 930pm & paid the additional $10 to proceed. I arrive and order my drinks & appetizer 30mins later..... we have still yet to receive our food at this point I ask the front desk on the update. The verdict was the order was unfortunately never put through to the kitchen and now at this point it is closed... The employee proceeds to ask me if i was interested in getting my credit back for the food I never received ?!?! which i was clearly taken back considering the circumstances. Few minutes after groups started to fill up in the lanes next to ours and were getting food delivered ... at this point i'm confused and approach the front desk once again with the obvious question about the kitchen clearly not being closed. He stands with his hands behind leaning against the counter stating " i did everything i could i don't know what to tell you ". I walk away and contact friends and family whom i know that work for the company and they bring over management as she apologizes for the miscommunication and will " open the kitchen " for us and give us second round and food on them. Although the end result was we received our food - the customer service was awful and beyond unacceptable so with all of that being said I will not be returning again. read more

I met my kid here for a few hours of bowling, the candlepin lanes were all taken by children (birthdays) so there were no lanes available so we had to use the other lanes. People weren't friendly, the attendants were less than personable except the younger one. The one we asked questions of....She was super helpful. However, we were there for two hours and paid over $100 to bowl. That is excessive to me as I'm used to paying way less! At $30+ per hour--totally not worth it, plus if you're hungry? forget it...the food is sub-par and $18 for chicken fingers? NEVER AGAIN! I'd suggest Academy lanes in Bradford, MA where you're not robbed by walking in the door. read more

I traveled from Maine and met up with some friends at Game Time. I use an electric wheelchair for movement, and the entire facility was handicap accessible. I was able to throw axes, ride a virtual rollercoaster, and there were even ramps to the bowling lanes! One of the first things I noticed was the number of special needs individuals smiling and laughing. I was impressed with the owner's positive interaction with patrons and employees alike. This place was a lot of fun for an adult night out, Ax throwing, bowling , arcade games and drinks. The drinks were good and the staff was friendly . The appetizers were very good however our main meal was not good at all. We ordered burgers and we waited forever for them. We finally got them and they were chard black and just a Hockey puck . I hadn't been bowled candle pin since I was a kid in the early 70s so during a recent vacation in Amesbury I was looking for such a venue and serendipitously drove by it while returning from Haverhill. The venue is perfect for parents and children with half of it an arcade the other half the lanes. Thankfully I brought my bowling shoes with me because everything I knew about 10 pin was worthless for candle pin. Still I loved it Thursday evening and again Saturday when they had cosmic bowling. Will definitely be returning if I ever get up to Essex County again. read more

This review is strictly for their absolutely incredible arcade room! I've been to a lot of arcades in my life and this one by far one of the best ever. Tons of brand new games here that are all operated by a game card that can be loaded up with money at the kiosks there. Most of the games run between 6 and 12 credits. If I remember correctly $20 gets you 200 credits plus 50 bonus credits. Which gave me a my 2 sons about 30-45 minutes of gaming time. Any tickets that you win at the machines is stored on the card so you don't have to carry around those handfuls of tickets anymore! If you've been to a Dave & Busters this is a very similar setup but close to home and much less expensive. A+ stuff here folks! read more

I've been coming to this place since I was pretty much 3 years old. It's a bowling center that I grew up in and made some great memories, some which I remember like it was yesterday. That being said, this place certainly has changed A LOT over the years. From the GIANT arcade, to new lane surfaces, it really feels like a new bowling center in general. I like coming to this place since it's a challenge to bowl here, but I also like the arcade that it has as well. They keep all their machines very clean and maintain the lanes really well in general. HOWEVER, one big reason why I don't really go to this place as much as I used to is......their PRICES!!!! I know that most centers usually charge the same amount that Leo's does ($4 a game I believe and nearly $2 for shoe rental), but nearly every other center I've ever been to has a special when it comes to getting discounted bowling. This place doesn't offer that (not that I know of anyway) So when you're going here to bowl, expect to at least pay $20+ if you're bowling more than a couple of games. Overall though, I've always liked Leo's and I do recommend it to people if money isn't really a big issue. read more

Fantastic atmosphere with everything you could want for a day and/or night to entertain yourself with friends, family, whomever. Between the axe throwing, bowling, and gaming you will never be bored. This bowling alley has been around in Amesbury for.. oh.. MANY years. It was under a different name when I used to go here as a kid. It has definitely had some upgrades over the years, but it is still lagging a little bit in that the scoring is still done manually - you actually count the pins yourself, versus it being smart enough to just know how many you knocked down. Not really a big deal, since it prompts you how many balls to roll if you get a spare or strike, if you're not familiar with bowling scoring (which I still am not after playing for years and years). The balls are a little tired if you don't bring your own - chipped here and there. I bring my own shoes so I can't comment on the state of the rental shoes, but from what I see they look decent. The lanes themselves are in great shape, nice and polished all the time. You can have a beer while you bowl, and there is a pizza place in the same building so you can grab a snack too. They play XM channel 46 for tunes, which works for me! This place is a regular stop after going out to eat somewhere in town, to burn off a few calories. read more

Had our sons birthday party here. Ran smoothly, able to buy more food next door for the adults at the party. Matt was our attendant, he made sure the party ran smoothly, and on time.. Answered all our questions. We chose cosmic bowling. The kids loved it and the parents enjoyed watching the kids ( and the sox on the tv next to the score screens) the bowling was unlimited games for an hour.. Keep score don't keep score... We live 30 miles away and once again we took a road trip up to Leo's Super Bowl.... If you have never been here it is a refreshing change to many other alley's. Clean, employees are super friendly and helpful, beautiful arcade... well worth the drive. My kids love it! read more

We brought the kids here recently on a Saturday afternoon and had a great experience! When we first showed up, we were greeted by a staff member at the counter and informed that there was a wait to get a lane, due to the fact that not one but two children's birthday parties were taking place at that time. We chose to leave and come back. We arrived back there about an hour later and were greeted again; this time there were several lanes open. Staff were very friendly and helpful; from the two people at the desk to the teenage employee that assisted with sizing and handing out the hideous bowling shoes. (Which were neatly organized by size and gender, and children's shoes were placed lower to be more accessible for them!). Bowling was a fun experience; we opted to go the bumper route as we're far from pros and were playing with our kids! Leo's also has glow bowling which looks fun as well, and a big arcade area. Pricing was very fair; you're only charged from the moment you begin til the game is over, (rather than being charged by the hour) plus the cost of renting the shoes, which I believe was $2.50/pair. Leo's is always a fun time -- you can bowl a few strings, play some arcades and air hockey, and get a slice of pizza and a beer on the cheap. They've got cosmic bowling (with laser lights, music, etc) on Friday nights, Moonlight Oldies on Saturday nights, and regular bowling the rest of the time. Leo's is a fun place to bowl although it can get a little expensive at times. I wish they had some type of frequent bowlers card or discount bowlers program. That being said we do always have a great time going here and appreciate that they serve beer and wine but wish they served more. We haven't really used the arcade except when we have gone with the kids but do enjoy that feature. Over all we would recommend this place as it is a fun challenge to bowl here! read more
