This place I'm convinced does not train their employees on what the prices are, nevermind how to use the cash register. There have been numerous times where I have bought pop, chips, and other snacks that were on sale and the cash register put them through at full price. Not only has this happened numerous times, but the employees are always dumbfounded when I point it out. Nevermind the items on sale are usually advertised at the front right next to the cash register. Then there was the time I bought about $9.00 worth of items. The first time they rang through, the cashier would have put them through as $40 if I had not pointed it out. Then it got reduced to $15 because again they were still dumbfounded at the fact some of those items were advertised as onsale right next to them. Did they apologize profusely? No; rather, one of them had the gall to tell me to calm down after I was clearly becoming frustrated with them for trying to overprice what I was buying. No real apologie, no here's something for free to make up for the fact we almost sold you a $9 purchase for almost $40. Just simply "Alright, mame, calm down." Yeah... I'll calm down and take my business elsewhere.

I really love going into Showtime Video. The owners/workers are very welcoming and the place has a…read morenice feel. I know, it's just a corner store, but nonetheless I have a pleasant time during my regular pop-ins. Showtime has become my movie center of choice. Sure it's no Video Difference which is just around the bend, but for $4 (tax in) you can rent a new or old release. I appreciate not having to spend a full fiver on a DVD, because really once you're over the five dollar mark, it might as well be ten bucks if you ask me. Recently, I was baking banana bread and didn't want to go to the grocery store, so what did I do? I went to Showtime and lo and behold, they had brown sugar and a few other ingredients that I required. Support this family run business and swing by Showtime for a DVD or a candy bar. But make sure your rental is back by 7pm the next day or face the $4 penalty. And for you folks out there who are pornographically inclined, I've heard tell of an adult section... but don't tell your mother.

The staff here is varied, some good, some not. I did not buy much here and the rentals not over the top. But will do in a pinch or if you do not want to walk up to Quinpool Rd.

I've stopped into Showtime just a couple of times to grab things like cat food & bread and recently…read morestopped in to use the laundromat. When you first walk in you'll be in the convenience store section, but if you keep walking past the cash you'll see all of the movies for rent in one section and the laundromat in the other. It's well lit with all of the basic convenience store needs. As far as the laundromat, there are ~6-8 washing machines including a double load one ($4/wash) for comforters, etc. and then ~8 dryers at $2 a load. There were two long tables with lots of different chairs to use. There are no electrical outlets though, so if you need to do work on a laptop, etc. while waiting on your laundry, make sure your battery is fully charged. The staff were friendly and helpful when I had questions and I always see them chatting with people when there isn't a line up of customers. There are also lots of parking spots and this spot is between a couple of different restaurants in case you get hungry for a meal while your laundry is drying. The spot is nothing fancy, but it gets the job done and the service is great!

Upon searching for model shops while spending a weekend in Windsor, NS, I happened upon this one,…read moreadvertised interestingly as "the only hobby store in the valley". (Uh, okay, then. Way to save me some time, I guess). I checked for a website, and while giving me location info, does, according to Google, suggest that there may be a virus on their host page's end. Fortunately, I didn't take that as a reason to avoid the place altogether, which in the end, was a good decision. (Note to self: tell the owner about it next time through Windsor). I don't know what I expected when coming into the small town store, but found myself pleasantly surprised by the selection available. In addition to the run-of -the-mill kits available by the big names (Revell, etc) there were a few more exotic labels to be seen as well. There was also more of a kit variety available too, including some harder to find items and vehicles of several sorts. There were also a few interesting assembly pieces in stock that I haven't routinely seen on shelf in some of the other stores I frequent, such as an air compressor converter piece and a handy model glue dispensing pen I was happy to exchange some coin for. There are also some additional items for sale in-store, as I suspect, as many mom&pop (but mostly pop) stores do, which included an R/C section, and a respectable section dedicated to sport fishing. Upon purchase of my finds (plus a really swell model of a Ford 427 engine), I engaged the owner in a bit of a chat, and found him quite knowledgeable about his work. Being a serious modeler himself, he seemed quite interested in keeping quality materials in stock when available, and seemed quite knowledgeable of "the scene", recommending that I check out at least one or 2 upcoming model shows in the province. All in all, a good find. Will definitely be back next time I'm in the area.

As I entered I was challenged with the question "what are you looking for?". I said I was a new member of the Annapolis Valley IPMS. The reply i got was "we don't do that anymore". I of course said "do what?" He said "radio control". I said thanks and turned on my heel and left. I am away from my home staying in the Valley and I have more kits at my temporary apartment than this business has. They have nothing, that could see that I can't get at Rewards In the Greenwood Mall. This experience is two hours of my life that I can't get back.
