There does seem to be some confusion about playing music/presenting the pictures. I wish they had let us know there was an issue earlier (they told us the day of the funeral), but they did go out of their way to go buy the cord so some of pictures were displayed of a cellphone. The owner, his mother, and the other employees were all kind--and we really needed that. The prices were economical. Also the Mexican sweet bread and owner's mother explaining the different options in Spanish during the initial consultation gives the business a uniquely Laredo ish atmosphere that felt comforting during such an overwhelming and painful period. read more

I feel like it is important to advise people of what to expect from this funeral home. Sadly, we did not have the best experience. I will say that the staff is very nice however, they are not the most informed. They were often times completely unaware of certain things that were asked of them during my father's service. In an already incredibly difficult time in our lives, they made it very stressful. Firstly, the "complimentary" video memorial was a mess. They required I send in four songs, none of which were played. During the service they continuously kept restarting the video over and over again. I was a bit confused as I had sent them the list of songs two days prior. Secondly, the flowers that we were charged $125.00 for were never displayed on the casket. They ended up placing it on the casket at the cemetery. Also, another spray that was sent by a family member was lost. They sent a spray and a floral rosary(which was delivered so obviously the other arrangement made it to the funeral home as well). We paid $75.00 for a deacon to pray a rosary during the service. He was never advised and thus did not show up. The deacon was brought in at the cemetery. The obituary which costs $250.00 was published the day of the service which resulted in people not attending. And lastly, as the previous reviewer mentioned, we were also rushed out of the funeral home while we were clearly having a moment. It has been three weeks and the funeral home has still not obtained a signature from the doctor for the death certificate. I have called several times and the girls always tell me they'll call me back but they never do. This funeral home may be cost effective but it comes with a lot of minor issues. I would recommend you proceed with caution and to be in constant contact with them to remind them of the little details(which you shouldn't even have to be worrying about during a difficult time). read more

The only reason this establishment gets ONE star is because ZERO was not an option. Attended a service and the "funeral directors" and staff were very unprofessional. Not only were they dressed in everyday casual attire (T-shirt's and blue jeans), they were rude and dismissive. An hour before the service was scheduled to end, the staff went into the viewing room and told every visitor that they had to "start wrapping things up because they would be closing soon." Adding insult to injury, the staff made their way to the visitors lounge and made it a point to tell the grieving family that they had to "hurry and finish their sweet bread and take their conversations elsewhere because visiting hours were almost over." Earlier that evening, a staff member noticed the coffee in the lounge was low. They informed the family that they would no longer provide complimentary coffee because they had already made several pots for them and their guests. I understand that they might be one of the most affordable funeral homes in the city, but what happened to respect, dignity, and common human decency?! This funeral home advertises itself as taking care of your family like their own. If this is the case, I would not want to be part of their family. read more
