We walked in and were so confused at what we were about to do looking at all the ceiling vents over the tables, but it was so fun and entertaining of a meal! It reminded me of a fondue place with Korean food. You order from your phone (super easy) and the food magically shows up. You cook it in front of you and it was all so tasty! We loved the noodles, the sushi, and all the flavorings of the meats. I didn't love the sushi pizza being fried (but we were getting so full by that point haha)z My husband would have loved this place since it was all you can eat haha. We unfortunately didn't try the desert since we were looking forward to ice cream cones. Only surprise was a 30% service charge that we weren't expecting! Definitely come hungry to get your money's worth.

I made a reservation online for 715pm which was quite easy to do. Also, there's a ton of parking since it is situated in a strip mall. We had to wait no more than 5 minutes to wait for a table. Usually when it comes to AYCE places, people complain about how long it takes to get their food. Not this place! I don't know how many people they have working in the back but the management are doing a mighty fine job. There's also a lot of staff from busboy/girl, waiters, hostesses and you can't forgot the robot ! The raw meat was well seasoned. They even had lamb chops. Yes you read right, lamb chops marinated with cumin. They were cooked to perfection and hot. Now that I done blabbing about them, I never have too much faith in the nigiri or maki but it was delicious. The sashimi was fresh and cold. The cook cut the fish in smaller pieces which I appreciate- I dread of buying into one big blob of raw fish. The soup looks plain and white but they put white pepper and it hit the spot. White pepper tastes completely different than black by the way for anyone who is wondering. My mom loved it. I loved it and will be back!!

I use to love this place…read more But this is the second time I've gotten Terrible service.. i did an Uber order which was suppose to arrive at my house 7:35PM. It got delayed to 7:45,8pm and 8:04. At 7:39 I called the resto and the person who answered said my food was sitting there for 5 mins. How is it ready for 5 mins when it was suppose to be delivered at 7:35/7:45?!?! The uber driver changed 3 times because you guys were still preparing my food. As you guys called me to see if I still wanted the order or not. One hostess on the phone said There was a misunderstanding with the food and laughed a little. We're in a time where every restaurant needs customers. You should let the customer have a bad taste in their mouth. You should be doing something to compensate for the mistake. This is the second time. I would rather drive DT and get my food than order from you again. On top of everything my food was so filled to the top the sauce spilled in the bag and when I too lit out it spilled all over my table.

The chicken is amazing! Spicy and juicy and so crunchy! The chicken came with a little coleslaw, kimchi and pickled daikon. The kimchi fried rice was so good! I got it for my husband and ended up eating half of it. Everything here is a little spicy, a little fish saucey (in a good way) and really flavorful! So happy to have a place like this on the south shore. And this week I learned it is just as good to take out as it is to eat in!

TL;DR/The Short Version: Casual Korean eatery. Great combos…read morewith lots of variety. Everything was tasty. The Long Version: My husband and I went here for lunch. I got the fried chicken combo ($16.99) and my husband got the beef combo ($16.99). We requested no sesame seeds for our food and they accommodated by not sprinkling sesame seeds on the rice, japchae or beef, but they forgot that one of the fried chicken sauces has sesame seeds in it, so I had to give my husband that piece. We were going to share anyway, so it wasn't a big deal for me. The Fried Chicken Combo came with 3 pieces of fried chicken, each one a different flavour: original, sweet and spicy, and soy garlic. The sweet and spicy sauce has sesame seeds in it. Since I can't eat sesame seeds but can tolerate slight contamination, I didn't bring it up and just gave that piece to my husband. Although in retrospect I should have alerted them for them to be more aware for someone else who might have a more severe issue. Both combos came with japchae, rice, 2 dumplings, and coleslaw. The fried chicken was crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. It was great. I liked both the original and the soy garlic. Hubby liked the sweet and spicy. The beef was tender and flavourful. And I liked that it was lean meat and not gristly. The dumplings were deep-fried and had pork and vegetables in it. The rice was nicely steamed and slightly sticky which I liked. The japchae was flavourful and had shiitake mushrooms, carrots, bell peppers and onions in it. It was little too oily for my preference, but I still enjoyed it. The combos also came with a can of soda or a bottle of water. My husband got a Coca Cola and I got a bottle of water, which I took to go to drink during my shopping adventures after lunch, since we were given tap water with our meal. Service was courteous and efficient. Lots of indoor seating with televisions playing K-pop music videos in the dining room. The restaurant is down a flight of stairs, so might be a problem for those with mobility issues. Review #18 (2025)

Service was one of the better things about this restaurant. Our server was attentive quick and the food came out fairly fast after ordering. Restaurant has a lot of small tables and is better for smaller groups and you can squeeze multiple people into the smaller tables as long as you let your server know that you're fine with squeezing in. May be getting carry out instead? We were able to get seated at a two top picnic table before 7pm, only about a 5-10 minute wait. Ordered two sides of kimchi, Kim gui, tteokbokki, regular spicy chickie, Buldak chicken. C$74.23 The kimchi side comes with a side of shredded radish, which is quite sweet. Was hoping it would be the cubed radish kimchi instead. The shredded radish clumps together, it's ok. The kimchi is also so-so. The seaweed is good. The tteokbokki is a small portion, the gochujang sauce tastes smokey, it's pretty good. Comes with mushrooms. The spicy chickie is good, the breading is light and crispy. The chickie is nicely fried, not too dry. I should have read more carefully, the Buldak is smothered in cheese, had to removed it all off the top of the meat. The meat is oddly cut, it's nicely cooked and tender. It's a big portion of meat. There is no complimentary rice with the BBQ Buldak chicken, that's a first. No banchans here as complimentary here either, not very Korean of this place at all. :/

Why do you eat out? Perhaps there's no energy to cook today. Maybe there's a celebratory occasion…read morewith friends. Maybe there's a viral new restaurant with the most beautiful interior. Or maybe we want to feel cared for. On those days, people tend to look for comforting flavours that are down to earth, simple dishes. These restaurants often get undeservingly relegated to a lower category. We don't dress up to go there, we don't take as many selfies. But why? Is it because the interior is kitscht or "cheap"? Because there's no lobster or dollop of caviar? What if I told you that inside a little shaby restaurant was real, honest, painstackingly well prepared food? Laon is a special little gem that moved into the Milton-Parc neighbourhood, near a street corner that sometimes gets rough. It took over a restaurant that changed hands several times in the past, and still carries inside the remnents of its other cultural memories. The man that owns it, Jinsoo (Steven), seems a bit shy and does not speak English very much. But his care is immense. The neatness of that space, of each item placed for you to use, translates in gestures gratefulness, kindness and hope. The dishes are simple, homemade comfort classics of Korea. But done well, very well. They speak of the relief of getting home after a rough day at work, or of visiting parents after a long school semester away. They speak their own language, in the tenderness of the zucchini that is cooked just right, the small bowl of fluffy rice where each grain is distinct yet slightly clingy, the golden brown edges of the onions, bell peppers and beef in the cheolpan that are expertly even. At Laon, I said thank you and I meant it from the bottom of my heart. P.S. Prices are amazing. P.P.S. Just go.

My husband felt like having a few appetizers for his meal, so he got fried pork dumplings ($5), vegetable imperial rolls ($6) and Dakgangjung ($7) which was fried chicken pieces in sauce. I got the dumpling soup ($12). I really enjoyed my soup. It had a good amount of dumplings in it and the broth was an egg drop soup with shredded carrots and zucchini. The broth was flavourful and not too salty. And the dumplings were plump and filled with ground meat, vermicelli noodles and vegetables. I had a piece of my husband's fried chicken appetizer and it was delicious. I also tried one of his fried dumplings, which tasted similar to the dumplings in my soup, only deep fried instead of boiled. I didn't have any of the imperial rolls but he seemed to enjoy them. There was only one server for the entire restaurant but he did fantastic job. He was very attentive and refilled our waters as soon as our glasses were empty. He checked in on us and our food was served in a timely manner. He was attentive but never intrusive. I was thoroughly impressed. Laon Restaurant used to be on Rue St. Denis but they moved to Ave du Parc in 2023. I don't remember what used to be at this location, but I think it was an Indian restaurant. The restaurant has a homey feeling and I did notice that despite it being April during our visit, they had some Halloween and Christmas decorations still up, lol. And some autumn/Thanksgiving stuff too. That gave me the idea of having all festive decorations up all the time at our house. I'm talking New Years (both Western/Gregorian and Lunar), Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, Canada Day, Thanksgiving, Halloween and Christmas year-round. My husband nixed that idea pretty quick. Lol. I found this a bit amusing at the restaurant but also strangely endearing. It's a lovely spot that feels genuine in heart. Review #71 (2025)
