Our family has had a wonderful experience with Gaowa Montessori. We first visited during an open house before the school had even opened. We were immediately impressed by the beautiful campus, and how clean everything was. We were so confident in what we saw that we put down a deposit that day, and our son started the following spring when he was two years old. Gaowa has been an incredible place for him. They nurtured his natural curiosity and love of learning, especially when it came to reading and math. He was reading before he turned four, and I truly believe his teachers played a huge role in fostering his love of reading, even bringing in chapter books just for him. When our son was four, we went through a period where he was having some behavioral challenges. Instead of blaming him or us, or making him feel like he was a "problem child," the teachers worked alongside us to give us tools to help him. They approached the situation with patience, compassion, and genuine care, and I'm incredibly thankful for the way they supported our family during that time. We put our daughter on the waitlist before she was even born. She attends Gaowa now, and we've made the decision to keep her there for TK instead of moving her to public school because the education and nurturing environment are exceptional. The teachers genuinely care about the children. They know each child as an individual and create an environment where kids feel supported, encouraged, and excited to learn. Like any newer school, Gaowa experienced some growing pains in the beginning. There was more staff turnover than we would have liked during those early years. However, through all of that, the quality of the education remained outstanding, and over time the school has become much more stable. UPDATE: Haven't heard from the school admissions again. I also want to note that we did not "put all my eggs in one basket." We have waitlisted at other schools at the same time and gotten periodic updates regarding the waitlist and an estimated timeframe from them. Transparency, ya know? SECOND NOTE: This is clearly a review of the waitlist and admissions process. I'm glad y'all love the school curriculum, teachers, and fancy app updates, but that's a different topic entirely. I had visited Gaowa during the Open House in July 2022. The school has new equipment and very cool facilities. The school starts from age 18 months. At the Open House, admissions had informed me that my child (11 months at the time) had a good chance of being able to start at 18 months in February 2023. I submitted the paperwork, made the deposit and joined the waitlist. Everything seems fine. Fast forward 3 months, in October 2022, I called the school to see if I need to submit anything else for the February 2023 start date. To my surprise, I was informed that it is highly unlikely that my child will be able to start in February 2023 and admissions informed me that I can call back every 3 months to see if there is any "movement on the waitlist." I was further informed that they cannot give me a timeframe for when they believe my child can start. Admissions absolutely refused to give any type of timeframe. I found this to be absolutely ridiculous that (1) the school took no responsibility as to the initial comment that my child would be able to start in February 2023 and (2) the school lacks transparency as to how they deal with their waitlist. I have attached the email correspondence between myself and the admissions office. The school states that it had hired a consultant to deal with its waiting list and it found out that the wait time on the waitlist is much longer than it had originally thought. However, when pushed to give a timeframe, Gaowa insisted that it is too difficult to calculate (even though it has a consultant). Gaowa did not respond to my last email. I have also attached a copy of a Department of Social Services Facility Evaluation Report that shows that Gaowa has 24 toddlers (18-36 months) and 96 preschool children (3-6 years old). I am assuming that the school knows the number on its waitlist, the mandatory student to teacher ratio, number of classrooms and age of each child. So logically, the school can figure out how long the waitlist is and the timeframe for available start dates. Again, this seems like Gaowa is purposely not transparent about the waitlist/wait times. In a time where childcare is in high demand, I can understand why Gaowa feels like it can do what it wants. However, from a working parent's standpoint, this seems unprofessional and discourteous as we have to plan the upcoming year. read more

This preschool is amazing! The facilities are beautiful and the staff is kind and encouraging. Their communication with families is excellent, and we got so many pictures from the school day so we could see what our kids were learning. My youngest daughter started here right after they opened and had a wonderful experience. They do a great job building community and we still keep in touch with families we met there. We just came back to visit during their open house and my daughter was so excited to see her teachers again. Highly recommend! read more

One of the most important and difficult decisions we make as parents is the school we choose for our kids. Choosing the Gaowa Montessori School has been the best decision for our family and our son. I was that anxious first-time mom sending her toddler who grew up during the pandemic/isolation to school. My numerous questions, concerns, calls prior to start date were met with nothing short of patience and compassion by everyone at Gaowa. Our son adjusted well and quickly beyond our expectation and now runs towards the door every morning! With a well thought-out and organized curriculum that is hitting all the age-appropriate learning skills, we're noticing a big shift in his development. 2) Clear and consistent communication - you'll have access to an app that updates you about every detail of the day that pertains to your child and class. I LOVE getting picture and video updates regularly. In addition to the app, they're always available if you'd like to discuss anything about your child more in-depth. 3) During the peak of the pandemic, they went above and beyond with safety measures to put our minds at ease. That speaks to how deeply they cared about our kids and families. Oh and one last thing to mention is the beautiful indoor and outdoor design of the building! My son joined the primary program in August. He had never been in a school or daycare environment and we're so impressed at how much he has developed both academically and emotionally this past year. The administration is incredibly kind and welcoming and the teachers are amazing -- Ms. Tatiana is a true gift and has taught us so much as parents, too! From Ms. Rocio's music and Spanish classes to book share days, to monthly curriculum themes, there is so much for the children to look forward to. The school itself is clean, organized, and well-kept, and Ms. Gaowa's seasonal celebrations and holiday decorations are truly unmatched. We LOVE this school. We were in a bind getting our son into preschool on short notice and were lucky enough to drive by, drop in, and immediately know this was the place for us. It is impeccably clean, high quality, and every detail has been thought out. My son is incredibly happy here and has learned and grown so much in his time. My son has taken Spanish, Chinese, Music and now piano lessons all in one place. His reading has advanced so much and his love for learning is fostered here. My husband and I feel so grateful to have found this school for our child. The grounds are beautiful and clean with great security measures. The school also works with an app that provides daily picture/video activities of your child and their class. We love getting the notifications and seeing our son learning and interacting with friends - it really makes our day. Gaowa Montessori's campus and facilities were the best we had seen when touring various schools for our child. Within our first 20 minutes of our tour, we knew this would be the school we would choose to send our child. What we didn't know was how truly amazing the teachers and staff would be. It is easy to say that they are nurturing and caring but it is more than that. They make us as parents feel like we are in the classroom experiencing our child's development with their daily, and sometimes, hourly updates in their app. They also provide guidance for us to help our child develop at home. This Yelp review has been long overdue for sure because GAOWA has impressed me since day one. But what compelled me to write it now was seeing the one negative review; it sounds like someone put all their eggs in one basket and when it comes to childcare, you have to have plan B. When I was looking for schools I had also put my name on another waitlist other than GAOWA's, and the other school had told me that most likely my son could start in Feb/2022 but no one ever called me at all (and we're in November already). But that was ok because GAOWA accepted our son and we have been extremely satisfied with the way they run the school and most of all, the way they ALL care for my son. Every teacher and every member of their staff has been so genuinely kind to my son, and to the rest of our family; the after-care staff, the office people.. they're all just amazing and sharp! You can tell by the way your child talks about them; plus, you can see from the videos you get through their app. I love how many pictures and information about their day we get everyday on there. My son has also learned so many skills thanks to Gaowa; you can tell they continuously invest in materials, events, decorations, to make sure it's always fun and dynamic for the kids, never dull.. They've also done things to accommodate us plenty of times such as a change in schedule here and there. They're just so very patient and we are all VERY GRATEFUL. read more

Our son has been at Gaowa Montessori for 5 months. From the day of our first visit, we were treated like family and they made us feel very comfortable. The staff (Ms. Suzzaine, Ms. Tatiana and Ms. Cassidy), and the Gaowa family are very supportive, caring, and professional. The school is immaculate and has natural lighting in the rooms. There is a beautiful garden and playground, where children are taken for outside play, and the room shares the window with the playground, which is quite nice. Also, there is secure access, which is reassuring that safety and security is important. When I'm at work I never think twice about his safety or well-being. They also have an app where I am able to get status updates from diaper changes, nap time, meal time and most importantly pictures. I do have to say they take some good pictures of my son. Every day I pick up my son, he, as well as all of the other kids, are so happy and I always see the staff being kind and using encouraging words. Since my son started there, he comes home with new skills, interests and words every day. I have always been thrilled with what he has learned at his age. This is such a wonderful school and our family couldn't have made a better decision! Above all, it is clear to me that Ms. Suzzaine and the teachers cherish my son for who he is and recognize his potential and to me that it is the most important thing that an educator can do to support a child's development! read more

I cannot say enough good things about this school. Our daughter started here back in December when she turned 18 months. I was nervous sending her, but she has really blossomed. In my 25 years of teaching, I have never experienced a school such as Gaowa Montessori. The owners and staff are so kind, compassionate and loving. They go out of their way to recognize each child as an individual. They give the teachers extra support and help when needed.
