This used to be a store that I would avoid at any cost. Not because it's cheap with cheap quality…read moregoods, but father it was a mess, and the queue was always so long. If I saw something I wanted to buy, I would pick it, look at the queue, put it back down and walk out. If I really wanted something, I would come back at a later date, but make sure that I arrived and got served before the hoard of shoppers arrived. I have to say, since the opening of the two huge Primark stores on Oxford Street, things in this particular branch have inproved enormously. The display no longer a thrift shop appearance of jumbles clothes. Also the queues are not as bad as they used be. I think the die hard Primark shoppers would rather make the trek to Oxford Street, where the chioce of goods is that much greater. For any American visitors coming to London wondering what kind of store Primark is, think an even cheaper version of Old Navy for clothes and Walmart of bedding and household accessories. The reason this store only gets three stars is due to the size of the store means that the selection is limited and does not cover the full range of Primark goods.

But, after my visit to the Kilburn location I learned that each store is very (VERY) different than the next. Crap is EVERYWHERE. I seriously didn't even see anyone working there picking things up. I know Oxford Circus is the huge, flagship store, but they always have about 50 workers scrambling around the tourists trying to fix up the shop in order. Any retail business should care as least a little bit if their merchandise is all on the floor. It shouldn't matter if it's only 1 quid either. Not only is this location a complete and utter disaster, but the merchandise isn't even any good. Yes, the store is smaller, but I found what is in store not to be really any worth buying. Suck it up, wake up at 9 and go to the Oxford Circus location. TRUST ME.

I was a little disappointed when I went in though because it essentially has the same stock as the street vendors in the market but you can try the own and it isn't open to the elements. The clothes are nice though, despite being a fraction of the price 5 minutes away; lots of pretty cotton dresses with lace or embellishment detailing. The average price for a dress is about £50 though which is quite steep.

It's certainly not the chic and stylish clothing that I would associate with France. However, the dresses are quite nice and they have some fashionable shoes and handbags. The quality of the clothing doesn't seem to be very high but they offer some quite pretty things for the lower end of the market-but I wouldn't expect them to last very long. The dresses are, I would say, aimed at an age range of 16 to 18 but they do have some office style clothing as well for the younger market.

Everything they sell is hand picked, so you know there aren't going to be rails of dubious looking stock like you find in so many vintage shops nowadays. The shop lady was super friendly and helped me decide which hat to get! The jacket I saw initially was in stock but the shop was so packed I decided to stop by later when I could properly try it on. Based on the ten other branches of Primark I've visited in the past throughout the UK and the Netherlands, this is pretty much a typical store and reminds me of other mall locations such as those in the intu Metrocentre in the North East, and St David's in Cardiff, Wales. Primark is your typical more budget fashion retailer, they do have some nifty items at low prices but of course, with the price comes perhaps lower quality or at least a variation of such. The store had a decent feel to it and a decent selection for a Primark store, in terms of being modern and standing out, it was pretty much your average large mall location of the chain to the ones mentioned and definitely beats other branches in the likes of Liverpool and Southport, both of which are in the Merseyside region. "A-OK" sums this place up, it is okay, it isn't too impressive, it's average at best, and the understaffed nature of the store, with the staff that there are not seeming to be too friendly or helpful is another downside. 3*

But those local yummy mummies and fashionistas were until recently lacking a gorgeous place to go shopping. They now have Iris, set up a few years ago by two local mums and doing very well. They have had some flair to pick up and coming brands and mix them with more established labels. While not being cheap, the store is full of very affordable pieces from labels such as K Jacques de St Tropez (sandals), French labels Isabel Marant and Vanessa Bruno, but also American Vintage, Zoe T's, Malene Birger, Velvet, and the unavoidable Antik Batik. They also have a maternity range since women in Queens Park are the perfect target for that too Worth stopping by if you are or live in the area and are into fashion.
