All Weather Windows - Casement triple-pane window with failed seal, less than 8 yrs.

All Weather Windows

Quality is mid-tier. This was a company selected by our builder for building a show home. There…read moreis a door on the deck with an awkward upper and lower lever-style locking mechanism that has to be closed all the time during the winter. If this style of door is not latched, it does not seal. With poor seal, the door swells at the upper corner and does not close properly until summer when it shrinks enough. The windows are only 7.5 years old at the time of this review and triple pane with low-e and reflective sun coatings. The one in the picture lost its seal resulting in fogging between the panes. They state a 20-year warranty but it turns out that is only for the materials. They charge for replacement labour of their products. Anyone who buys these as replacements may be happy at first, but just give it some time and you may change your mind. In my opinion, 7-ish years is a short time for a window to lose its seal. If you are replacing your windows and choose these for price, maybe consider them if you are moving or flipping. The thermal properties are also not as good as other windows out there so if energy efficiency is important to you, look elsewhere. When Polar Windows was around (more expensive), it was measured at about several degrees warmer at the surface. Unfortunately, Polar is gone as the market appears to forget that you get what you pay for in most cases and chooses the cheaper brands. If budget is a constraint, better to replace windows a couple at a time. I didn't have an option to choose the window/door manufacturer for our home. If you have a choice, consider carefully about AWW. I would have preferred to pay more for better quality. The second star is simply for their honouring replacing the window. If they included labour it would have been three stars. If the window seal didn't fail within the warranty, four stars. If they performed as well as Polar Windows did, five stars.
