I had called on a Thursday afternoon b/c my kid was sick. Was told I need a same day appointment and was offered one for the same day. We couldn't make the appointment due to traffic. After explaining our concerns to the "triage" nurse she told us we would need to call back the next morning to request a same day appointment. Seeing it pointless to go through all the details again and waste the opportunity form our kid to see a Dr. the "nurse" dictated their same day appointment policy to me stating "We don't allow sick visits to be scheduled in advance because sometimes the kids get better and don't have a need to come into the office. You'll have to call back tomorrow morning to get a same day appointment. Our phones open at 8:10am sharp and you'll be able to schedule the appointment." She also had to advise me that all Dr.s have a Friday morning meeting that goes until 9:30am. She looked and saw that our Dr. had time for an appointment in the morning but refused to schedule it for us because of their sick visit policy. No exceptions. When I called at 8:10am their phones were not on. By 8:20am the phones still not being turned on but I was able to get in touch with their on call service. They took my information and told me I'd get a call back within the next 5 minutes to schedule the appointment. I was never called and decided to call back and request a same day appointment again. I was again transferred to their "triage" line and had six calls ahead of mine. Slowly the number went from six to four but that's only because the other callers decided to hang up instead of wait. I wrote this review in the time I was on hold and continue to hold. Through my experiences at other medical providers this office stands out as disorganized, provides misleading information to avoid doing the work and total lack of regard for patient's schedules or medical concerns. My advice would be to the office manager. Review how your office sets up sick visits. Implement a no show policy that changes for the now show. Your lack of understanding and urgency for patients that are sick to protect your schedule is unacceptable. I'm still holding after 30 minutes for the "triage" line after being told "Oh yea, we have plenty of staff here to help you in a timely manner." Turned out they don't have any morning appointments available as they said I would get yesterday. Due to their incompetence and policy we've wasted our day. Parents are now late for work and our kid missed the entire school day. read more

The most incompetent bunch of doctors and caregivers I've ever encountered. Nice people, but we dealt with multiple instances of complete negligence and lack of care that almost cost our son's life. We saw multiple doctors in the office over the course of a couple weeks, and they downplayed any questions we raised as non-issues and instead of actually doing their job, they chalked up things like extremely high repeated fevers as the result of our son being "a fever baby." That was not the case, and if we didn't bring him elsewhere because we didn't trust the response, he could have died. Go anywhere else. Can't give zero stars so they get one but I wouldn't trust them with caring for a house plant. read more

My son previously saw Dr. Graves at GCPA. Initially we were impressed. He spent time in Special Care at birth and while we had no established rapport with Dr. Graves because he was our first baby, she came almost every day of his 11 day stay. She also fought for him to come home, which meant a lot to us as parents of a term NICU baby. That said, once we were discharged we often found that there was a huge lack of awareness of his medical history and an inability to answer questions like, why does he need an audiology follow up due to his special care stay? What will the cardiologist look for at his follow up. Months later we found out my son was diagnosed with a hole in his heart and amongst his care team no one ever disclosed it, we found out from our health insurance company. We found it amazingly difficult to get sick visits because you have to speak with a triage nurse first who then decides whether your child needs a sick visit. These calls were frustrating when you knew your child needed to be seen. There were multiple times one particular call nurse would say it was "weird" I was still breastfeeding my child when he was 6 months old and that they don't treat babies for thrush. When I pointed out he was treated in special care she told me they always treat preemies and I constantly had to point out my child was full term. We also found that no matter the provider, appointments were never even close to on time and we frequently waited 45 minutes or more past our appointment time. That's frustrating enough on its own, but with an infant it's extremely difficult. We understand that people run late but we were never notified at check in and they would always act like you were unreasonable if you would check about the status after a half hour. An appointment is a time commitment between parties and if you're that late every single time, to me it indicates that they have too many patients and need to schedule longer appointment times. For us the final straw was coming in for his 9 month visit after my child had been sick all weekend and not permitted to have a sick visit only to find out they rescheduled his appointment without even bothering to call us weeks before hand. No one bothered to even apologize for the experience. We decided at that point to switch because continuing despite my child not getting the care he needed out of obligation and gratitude for the care he received before he ever left the hospital no longer made sense. read more

Dr. Dean is absolutely amazing. Both of my daughters see him. He is so helpful, informed & involved with my children & me. Every time I call & speak to a triage nurse, she is always so helpful and informative. I've never had an issue & highly recommend! read more

The office staff is okay. Occasionally quite rude. The doctor was personable and had a good manner with my son. However, she insisted on retracting his foreskin, which you are absolutely NOT supposed to do and as I was telling her not to do it, she blew me off and continued. I was shocked that she didn't at least stop and talk to me about it when I was telling her to stop touching my son. It was very upsetting and we have switched practices to see someone who actually knows how to care for an intact male. read more

My son has been seen by Dr. Suzanne F Graves, M.D. for the past year and a half. Most of our visits were routine and were fine visits. With the exception of them giving him a vaccine by mouth which was told needed to be mixed with a thick liquid due to his aspiration, they refused and gave it to him without mixing it, he choked, stopped breathing, turned blue, and the nurse just froze. My husband and I jumped up, performed sternum rubs and got him to start breathing again. A few weeks ago my son developed extremely swollen lymph nodes on one side of his neck. Dr. Graves saw him, didn't check any other nodes, didn't run any baseline tests, and put him on Augmentin for 10 days. On the 8th day, the mass doubled. We saw Dr. Graves again who was sure it was an abscessed node and sent us to Beverly Hospital ER to have tests done. Once there, the Children's Doctor who was on call knew right away by feel that it was not abscessed. After 5 hours at Beverly Hospital, we were directed to Children's Hospital Oncology and Children's Hospital Lymph node clinic where our son is still undergoing testing and treatment. I called GCP to have his records transferred to Children's and the nurse who does that said she didn't see them and that I had to do that myself with a horrible demeanor. I then called BH records department and they sent everything over right away. We decided to transfer our son out of this practice, but due to insurance, he is not able to go where we wanted. We then requested him stay at Garden City, but to be seen by a different doctor. We received a letter from Doctor Graves today stating "This request to return to our group has been reviewed and deemed inappropriate at this time"! I would not recommend this practice to anyone, especially if you have a child with any special needs! Dr. Graves was extremely incompetent the last two times she saw our son!!! read more

Even when your kids are older they always respond. Called about the flu and the nurse was great and got back to me with a question I had for the Doctor. Have always gotten great response from them. Our primary pediatricians are Dr. Sklaver and Dr. Graves but through the years have had contact with all and that has been positive!!! read more

Pros: Super friendly staff (front office, nurses, drs.) Pediatricians are on call during the first hour of the morning (7-8) where you can speak directly with them. There's a Pediatrician who will fit your needs based on your parenting style (8 drs to choose from. Super clean. Located next door to Beverly Hospital! Staff is on call 24/7, 365 days per year to answer all questions (especially those first time mommy questions that come up at odd hours!) Friendly attitudes from everyone--even when you call on (ahem) a holiday needing to speak with a nurse about a seemingly important question...which miiiight not be quite so important. ***I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Sheryl Silva. Cons: The building is cute, but a bit worn. Could use a fresh look. read more

I've brought my new born son here a handful of times since he was born in December 2015. In the 3-4 times my wife and I have brought him in for his 1 week, 1 month, 2 month, etc. checkup his pediatrician has NOT been there, except one single time. The very first week the doctor was on vacation...(off to a great start here) so we had another physician for his appointment. Then for his one month appointment his primary physician was again not there. Now for what should have been his most recent checkup, the doctor is out sick. Of course! As someone else mentioned the patients time is just as important as the doctors. And they tell us, we've rescheduled his appointment for Friday. Oh you did? Because we've had this appointment for weeks and had to make arrangements just to be able to get to this appointment. And you decide to pick a day that you think would work for us to come back, but doesn't. Why did we even choose a primary care physician for our son when he's NEVER there. You would think he'd want to make a good impression since he is the newest physician in the GCP team. So far I'm far from impressed. read more

My son has been coming to office since he was born. But the staff at the front desk who makes appointment is very rude everytime I call to make an appointment either it be urgent and the dr.'s order or a follow up. The lady's at the front desk just dont care. The nurse and the doctor wanted to see my son because I had called about a concern, but the lady at the front desk was not accommodating and was very rude. I had no choice but to transfer my son out so he can be seen by a doctor asap. After all this they will charge be 15 cents a page to to transfer his records!!!! read more

I've brought my child there many times. They have Courteous staff and they are Very dedicated to children. It's clean there. Parking is difficult sometimes. I only gave them four star because there was an occasion I waited about an hour. I hate that. Patients time is just as precious as the doctors time. They have same day appointments available for sick visits. Hold times on the phone in the morning are very often long waits. Overall, I do recommend them. read more

We Love Dr.Kriteman! He will be retiring soon I'm sure, but we will be very sad to see him go! We will definitely stay with the office though. Open 365 days a year and nurses are always on call for advice etc. Same day sick appointments. Couldn't ask for much more in a Pediatricians office. Helps that it's right across from Beverly hospital too(in case you need to be sent there after your appointment in an emergency) I went to doctor Kriteman as a kid, so did my brothers and sister, a few of my cousins, and now my son sees him too!
