Oh my where do I even begin? Julie is the reason my wedding was everything I hoped it to be. My now husband and I walked into the venue last July in awe of this hidden treasure on Dickson street already prepared to book just based on the aesthetic! But then we got to meet Julie and immediately asked where we needed to sign. Everyone in this world needs a Julie (but let's be real, we don't deserve one). From the moment we signed our date (Oct 23, 2021) Julie became our right hand lady. She was there to help us plan as much or as little as we needed assistance with. She showed us all of the amazing decor pieces included with the venue (don't worry about buying table clothes, vases, table markers, signs, ANYTHING. Julie has it ready for use!). All costs were upfront (and let's be real, way below the CRAZY wedding costs were all used to). The week of the wedding Julie acted like we were the only couple she was working with (despite having three weddings before us that week!). She called our vendors, confirmed all drop off times (and even put a few grumpy people in their place). No stress on this bride and groom! When we arrived Saturday morning everything was already set up. The tables, ceremony chairs, everything! Julie was also ready to get the floral arrangements arranged herself before I asked to out of excitement. Every hour or so she checked in on us to make sure we were okay and didn't need anything. When it was time to get down to business (aka photos and guests arriving) it was like Julie was in 5 places at once. She was handling it all! When we had a person who was not invited show up and try to make a scene, Julie was there ready to fight (well not actually fight, but make sure they didn't take one step into the venue). So on top of a wedding planner, coordinator, best friend and venue owner you also are getting a body guard! The whole ceremony and reception was perfect. Julie made sure everything stayed on track and was just a joy every second. When it was time to wrap it all up she gave us (bride and groom) some togo boxes and sent us off on our way (after LOTS of hugs). I miss the flowers and my pretty dress from that day, but I miss Julie the most. I can't image doing that day over without her. So run now to Dickson Street and book any event you can think of at The Garden Room. You will have the best day and night of your life and work with the most amazing person to exist. We were planning a wedding on a less than 6 month timeline and considered many venues around town. I'll be honest, I have lived in the area for over 10 years, and was not aware of the Garden Room. When I contacted them initially, they were quick with providing all the information needed to assist in a decision even before meeting with them - availability, accommodations, and pricing of everything from facility to catering. I found others to not be quite as forthcoming with that in advance of the meeting. When we met for the first time, I could see the potential of the beautiful venue, even though we were in the dead of winter. They were very thorough in asking about our vision for the day and providing suggestions. They have a crazy amount of decor available at no additional cost, all the table centers, candles, all types of candle holders and glass items, easels, etc. that takes a great deal of worry and cost out of decorating. They offer many option for linens at a reasonable fee, and have beautiful dishes, serving pieces, etc. for your use. The catering options were very extensive and reasonably priced, compared to other locals. They were super flexible in allowing you to select from all the different items, and were good to offer up suggestions. We had heard from others that the food was always excellent, and when we showed up for a tasting nothing disappointed! Everything tasted fresh and homemade. That sealed the deal for us and we put down a 50% deposit for the venue. In the lead-up to the wedding, we met a few times, and they were gracious about us "popping in" to the venue in the afternoon hours to take a look at things for our planning. We finalized the menu a few weeks out and head count 2 weeks before. Julie provided a super detailed timeline to ensure every detail was covered, down to what we preferred to drink that day so that the staff could keep us in beverages. No bride should have to fetch her own drink! The day of our wedding went off perfectly. We had secured the office as a bridal suite/lounge early in the day and had decorating hours in the morning. We had designated parking spots for all our vendors and later for wedding party and family. The location allowed close by lunch options and the Chancellor hotel was our guests' hotel. It rained from 1:30 pm to almost 5, and I kept my cool, as we had planned for the afternoon showers and everything was managed. When the rain passed, the staff quickly had everything dried off and ready for our first pictures at 530 pm. Julie ensured everything for our ceremony and reception went perfectly as scripted, down to managing the background music herself! We had decided to have an intimate dinner in the bridal suite while our guests enjoyed the buffet and it was perfect, to sit down to beautifully prepared plates and have a few minutes of quiet reflection and time together before we party!! All the guests were very complementary of the food - spinach/artichoke dip, beautiful mixed green salad, mini muffulettas, smoked pork tenderloin with fresh yeast rolls and horseradish sauce, bacon wrapped shrimp, new potato rounds with ricotta and parmesan and fruit salad. The entire reception was managed beautifully. The Garden Room in a beautiful venue for any event. But what made it extraordinary was Julie and her staff. Their engagement from the very beginning, attention to every detail, and quality of product and service provided was really so much more than I expected. We visited Fayetteville this past weekend for the Bikes, Blues & BBQ Rally. This place made me speechless and frankly, that is hard to do. Cindy rang us up and was very sweet, she should quit her job, she clearly does not belong here. Apparently this is a wedding type venue that only opened up for the weekend to the public to get in on some of the cash flow coming through town. They were NOT biker friendly. Heck for that matter, they were not PEOPLE friendly. Look at our picture - do we look like biker trash? They had bathrooms but refused to let the public use them...... again, NOT PEOPLE FRIENDLY. The portalets were out the back door, up steep concrete steps that had no hand rail and completely disgusting . Oh but they were labeled male and female - like that makes a difference. Wonder how those smell during weddings or if they remove them for such occasions. There was no public sink for use.... I asked if I could use the sink behind the counter in the kitchen and was told no, that if I did it everyone would want to. Um yea all 3 people in here are going to swarm over!!! They did have hand wet napkins that are about useless when trying to remove turkey leg remnants from your hands. The other lady behind the counter, I didn't catch her name but I'm still floored by what she said to me----- I asked, "How long have you guys been here?" Her reply, "If you lived here, you would know, now wouldn't you?" Hey lady - if I lived here you wouldn't be open & trying to make a buck off of me, now would you? Seems you "Garden Room" are in the wrong business to open up for 400,000 bikers to come in town to treat them like 2nd class citizens that don't belong in your town. read more

My husband and I were blown away by the attentiveness and skill of the people who make the Garden Room special! Julie, our planner, went above and beyond helping us prepare for and execute our special day. Melanie helped make our vision come to life, and the staff were top-notch during the event. All my husband and I had to do was show up in the morning, give the decorations our blessing, and gather our personal belongings at the end of the night. They take care of the rest! This venue has something for everyone: smaller seating sections inside for quieter conversations, a lush outdoor space that can double as a dance floor, and plenty of room for guests to navigate. It's bursting with charm and a welcoming atmosphere! I would recommend the Garden Room to anyone who needs an event space in Fayetteville. read more

We have photographed numerous wedding ceremonies and receptions at the Garden Room. The year round greenery always makes for beautiful photos indoor and out. The catering service they provide is hands down the best in the area! Very delicious, I recommend the tenderloin and chicken. Everything is made in house, presentation is beautiful, severs are kind and diligent. Bar has beer on tap, stocked well, tenders are quick and generous on the drinks. Julie the owner is very sweet and helps take care of everything even on the wedding day she is there making sure everything is running smoothly. I would highly recommend The Garden Room to anyone looking for an all inclusive wedding venue in the Fayetteville area. read more

We visited "The Garden Room" on our recent trip to Fayetteville for Bike, Blues & BBQ. It was obvious they were just open to "cash in" on the masses of people (bikers) in town for the long weekend. The food was actually ok. Everyone knows that a good sauce is a large part of the overall BBQ experience. Yes - it was from a jug. LoL I was very surprised to learn the place was an event center. It looked as though it had been closed for quite some time and just re-opened for the weekend. I am curious if the port-o-potties that were full and out of paper are used for the weddings also. Nasty! We are the kind of people that can go anywhere and have a good time and never complain. After eating an $8.00 turkey leg, a request to wash your hands is not out of the question. It was made clear that "The Garden Room" was providing Clorox bleach wipes from Sam's Club and nothing more. When asked, "How long have you guys been here?" The response my girlfriend received was, "If you were from around here, you would know that. Wouldn't you?" Seriously? Who says that? We will go back to Fayettville in the future, many times. We had our wedding reception at the Garden Room, and our experience here was, by and large, excellent. Sheila was our event coordinator, and she met with me at my request several times in the months and weeks leading up to the wedding to help me figure out my vision for our decor (I had no wedding planner and did everything with my mom and my new husband). She was extremely accommodating to our wishes, considering that our wedding was a bit offbeat and that our timeline for the evening had to be adjusted a couple times, because we changed our minds about whether to do certain wedding traditions and what order we wanted to do the ones we chose. We emailed documents back and forth, rather than long emails, which was a relief to me; it was nice to work with someone who is organized and technologically savvy. (My wedding "binder" was Google spreadsheet with about 12 tabs, including the seating chart...) We made changes even the week of wedding, and Sheila made adjustments as needed without complaint or hesitation. Everything at the reception was on point and just the way we requested it. The staff was wonderful and prompt, keeping our reception (mostly) on schedule so that guests did not get antsy and bored. I received a ton of compliments on the service and the beauty of the venue (and our laidback DIY decor, woot). They also made clean-up a breeze and were such friendly people, even as they were ending their shift. I never felt like they were pushing us out the door. Highly recommend. read more

My daughter's wedding was held at the Garden Room last month and I have nothing but good things to say about this venue. The owner, Julie, was very helpful during the whole planning process and provided a lot of last minute coordination for us. The staff, too, was quite accommodating as well as efficient and friendly. The food was very good and we received many compliments on it. This venue has a patio with lots of greenery that lends itself to an easy indoor/outdoor experience. It rained right before the wedding but the staff had it handled and the seating was quickly readied for the outdoor ceremony as soon as the rain stopped. The Garden Room has a rustic, vintage charm that makes for an intimate, comfortable event. In the pricey wedding market, this venue offers a beautiful setting with excellent food and terrific service at a reasonable price. read more

Absolutely awful, UNPROFESSIONAL and problematic. When you don't tell your own customers/clients that parking lots near your business are NOT FOR THEM they will get TOWED FROM SAID LOTS. These parking lots are for RESIDENTS not CUSTOMERS. The owner of this business has been told MULTIPLE times that this will happen to the cars that park in these lots and she refuses to tell her clientele. Residents in these complex's have took it upon themselves to let her customers know they aren't allowed to park there to help them from having to pay a hefty towing fee. It would be lovely if the owner could let her customers know upfront (aka do her job) where they should park! Very tired of fighting! read more

We just got married at the Garden Room, and it was a delight. The staff at the Garden Room accommodated us every step of the way, from initial meetings to the Big Day. Not to mention that the venue is absolutely beautiful, and is a great space for a wedding. Lots of space to dance, mingle, and take pictures. And the food was great. We had a great time! We decided to move my daughter's wedding to another facility seven (7) I repeat (7) whole months prior to the event date. This was after we put a deposit of $500.00 down with Julie at The Garden Room. After I told Julie we were not having the wedding there, she was quite rude stating that unless she rebooked an event on this same date, she would keep our deposit. I even offered to let her have $100.00 of it for her time (about an hour) and she said she sent us her policy (of which we never found it) and that she didn't have to return our deposit. She made us email and/or call her every month to see if anyone booked an event on this date. I asked her how would I know if she booked an event on this date even if she did and she accused me of calling her a liar. (of course I would think this as she was so rude in the beginning). I DO NOT SUGGEST ANYONE HAVE ANY EVENTS AT THIS PLACE. JULIE IS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL IN HER BUSINESS ETHICS AND I WILL NEVER SUGGEST ANYONE TO USE THIS FACILITY OF HERS. I AM ALSO GOING TO REPORT HER TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. My prayer is that her keeping our $500.00 deposit almost 7 months prior to this event cancellation will cost her a whole lot more than the $500.00 that she stole from us. Lori Johnston read more
