The teachers are truly special -- many of them have been there for 20+ years, which says so much about the school and the care they provide. The facility is always clean, organized, and welcoming, and the environment is developmentally appropriate and nurturing. Because of how positive our experience was, we sent our second child there as well -- and he absolutely loves it. The teachers genuinely care about the children as if they are their own. My son has a food allergy, and they have gone above and beyond to take it extremely seriously and make me feel completely comfortable and confident in his safety every day. For starters, the facility is clean and inviting, but the staff and teachers make this place go round. Jade and Tarika are incredible directors. They are always available for a chat - about both good things and concerns - and take the time to get to know each child. They are also extremely vigilant about when a child might be sick, which I appreciate. Additionally, they are responsive via email. I know that if I have a quick question, they are ready, willing and able to help. Lastly, our son loves his teacher, Miss Gia! He has never cried once when we drop him off and a huge smile comes onto his face when we walk into his room! The kids are kept busy (we love the art projects that come home!) and are cared for well. All of the teachers there have really impressed me. Now really the last thing - there's an app that we follow along with each day. It logs everything that is going on with our child, which for a parent, is a god-send. And there are cute pictures sent throughout the day. As working parents, we were eager to find the best care for her during the day. (Due to Covid, finding in-home care was challenging, so we had to look for daycares.) After extensive research- we enrolled our daughter here and could not be more pleased that we did! The hours are amazing and flexible. The teachers are an absolute joy and it is obvious how much they love each child. We get pictures throughout the day, and they also let us know which skills they are focusing on during their daily activities. We have an app that allows us to communicate with the teachers. This is where we can request they focus on a specific developmental need (more tummy time, etc), and inform them of anything they should be aware of (like teething or a rough night sleeping). No matter what time of day we pick our daughter up, we always are thrilled with what we see when we peek through the door. It is also great seeing every teacher in the school greet our daughter by name even if she is not in their classroom specifically.

There's no stressing about traffic or double-parking at the start or end of the day. We took our daughter out after five months but only because of lots of family engagements that would've kept her out anyway. We wouldn't hesitate to go back in the future.

My husband works in education, and we're both very focused on the impact of an educational environment on the development of young children. After seeing several daycares and preschools in the area, we visited BMS and knew it was the program for us. Our daughter, almost 3, just made the cutoff to get into the mixed age classroom. BMS has almost a magical quality about it - The head of the school, Deborah, runs an excellent operation. From having kind, passionate, well trained teachers, to fostering a secure, collaborative, learning environment for the children, we could not be happier with our experience at BMS. While I could go on about the different best practices I've seen there, I think the most important proof is in the pudding... Since starting at BMS, our daughter has grown wonderfully. She's become more thoughtful, conscientious, and engaged. She's excited to go to school in the morning, and models the behaviors they foster there, outside of school (curiosity about the world, empathy, cleaning up after herself, and more). To us, Bronxville Montessori maintains the perfect balance of lots of play (creative and physical), some traditional classroom instruction, and character focused activities/norms. Of course there's work on the parents' part to help foster a similar environment at home, but we feel BMS has helped lay an excellent foundation for our daughter. We recommend the school to all our local friends (one just enrolled their toddler in the 2s program). We have also been very happy with their ability to reopen for the 2020/2021 school year, and with all the precautions they're taking to ensure a safe environment amidst COVID-19. The 3-5 age class students wear masks inside and outside, are screened every morning, practice frequent hand-washing, follow social distancing measures inside the classroom, and more. The pandemic has been extra challenging for all our children, and since returning to BMS after the pandemic school lockdown, our now almost-4-year-old has has been progressing back to her more normal state - happier, less anxious, fewer meltdowns, etc.
