A friend referred me to Gardner's Mattress & More and am so glad she did. We walked in with a sale flyer from a big chain store with a banging sale on Tempurpedic mattresses. Little did we know that these stores mark up the price of the mattresses substantially and then have an occasional "big sale" in which the sale price then becomes the standard price Tempurpedic sets on all the mattresses. Gardner's always sells their Tempurpedic mattresses at price Tempurpedic sets so it is always the "big chain sale price". They also give you $200 spending dollars which covered their $50 delivery free and a special mattress cover that is recommended for these mattresses thus getting free delivery like the sale flyer from the big chain store. And the great, personable service did not end. The mattress arrived at their store well within the time frame they said it would and they didn't dilly dally scheduling the delivery in turn (it came in late in the afternoon and the delivery was set for the next day within a 2 hour time frame). In our case the prior delivery had an unforeseen holdup and the delivery person called way ahead of my time frame of delivery deeply apologetic as they knew they would make our 2 hour window. Their professionalism in their sincerity with their apologizes was very commendable. They in turn updated me 2 more times to keep me updated of their ETA. When they arrived they were so apologetic again. I was amazed at how quickly they worked to set up the bed frame, box spring and mattress and go over the details on what to expect from this new mattress. I in turn will highly recommend Gardner's to my friends. The last experience in buying a twin sized mattress from a big chain mattress company was a disaster in my eyes and don't know how they are still in business. First off, the salesperson seemed agitated that he had a customer to wait on. We were in to purchase a bed that was in-stock so we could take with us. To my surprise the salesperson told us he was not allowed to touch the mattress we just purchased and he would have to take us back to the storage room, show us which mattress we purchased and load it ourselves. I was in total shock. It felt rather awkward wondering through their back stockroom to get to our mattress and load while the salesperson held the back door for us. With Gardner's we had already received an email when we got home welcoming us to the Gardner's family and information on "You have your receipt, now what?" with great detail of what to expect time wise with our order and detailed deliver information with our sales person contact number should we have further questions. It was a totally awesome and professional experience from John, our very informative and pleasant salesman, to the two delivery personnel that were just as informative, pleasant and professional (and quick - they were in and out of our home in less than 30 minutes on a job very well done). read more

My mattress shopping experience was excellent from start to finish. It started out with an informative website which provided me with a wealth of information on how to go about selecting the right mattress for me. My next step was a trip to the showroom near Park City Mall. A patient and kind employee helped me to narrow down my choices to a few mattresses within my budget. I tried them for about 5 minutes a piece and talked to the employee. He was a sleep consultant and definitely NOT a sales person. He seemed to be genuinely interested in meeting my sleep needs and budget needs. He suggested an appointment in the Dream Room. I happily scheduled an appointment in the Dream Room. One day after work, I tested out my top mattress pick in the Dream Room. I loved the experience and purchased the mattress after a 45 minute rest on my future mattress. While my mattress choice was certainly on the lower cost end of mattresses offered at Gardener's, I was treated as a highly valued customer. One month later, I love the mattress set I purchased and I would recommend Gardener's to anyone who values finding the right mattress at a fair price. Hi Ben, I just wanted to take a minute, and say how impressed I was with your company. I had originally planned on buying a bed from Amazon, had everything in my cart for check-out. But something stopped me, and I decided to check Gardner's first. From the minute I walked in, I felt like they were there to help me find what I needed, not sell me something. Because the bed was going up to the 2nd floor in a city row home, with steep and narrow stairs, plus a sharp corner, I knew it would be difficult. But after talking to the sales person, I found out that I actually had options. A split queen box spring, and a platform bed, so I wouldn't need a box spring. After asking a lot of questions of the poor guy, I decided the split mattress was the way to go. Now I asked the price. Not only was it LESS than amazon, but you offer FREE delivery, and you would carry it up the steps and set it up. But when would I be able to get it, well let's say 2 days later it was in my room! I was also so impressed at the delivery guys, not only did they come in, carry everything up the stairs and set it up, they did it in record time. Amazing!! We had a fantastic experience with Gardner's! We first noticed them with their advertising in the LNP. They highlighted their customer service and their consecutive years of Lancaster's Best Awards. So we figured we would check them out, as we didn't know where to start when it came to mattress shopping. Our Salesman was informative, professional, and personable, and we ended up buying a King size mattress on the first visit! At this point they proved to us their advertising hype, and we felt great about the experience. BUT that is not even what sets Gardners apart. Upon installation of the mattress, we realized after a week or two that we maybe should have gotten a full King (we got a split king). Knowing that returns are probably not an option, we reached out to them to see if there was anything that could be done. Ben McClure, Gardner's President, got personally involved and provided us several viable options. We selected one, they followed through, and we couldn't be happier!! One of our dogs.... well, had an accident on our spare bed, so the mattress had to be replaced. Because the bedframe is antique, a regular mattress is a super snug fit. I was delighted to learn that custom mattresses are not big deal in the industry. I really appreciated that Ben kept me apprised of the manufacturing schedule and expected delivery dates. Know what's cool about locally-owned businesses? They care not only about their customers, but they care about their employees. The day I was to take delivery was the day after a horrendous snowstorm followed by freeeeeeezing temps. It was too difficult to get delivery trucks onto back roads, and it was just too dangerous to be schlepping mattresses into homes. Ben called and asked if we could reschedule the delivery - made total sense. The guy who delivered the mattress (at a time which was convenient to me) was clean cut, polite, personable, wasn't freaked out over two dogs going wild and wanting him to love on them. He helped me to compare my options, but allowed me to make the choice with which I was comfortable. Great selection and competitive prices. The delivery team was also great. We purchased our daughter's mattress from Gardner's about 2 years ago. She still loves the mattress and we really liked working with Ben who put no pressure on us to buy. We also like to support our local/small businesses. Another great selling point for us is that the mattress we picked out was made locally in Lancaster County! We returned last weekend to purchase a new bed for my husband and I. We worked with Andy who was very knowledgeable and he really wanted to make sure we found the right bed. Read reviews about Gardner's and thought that all those people can't be wrong. Glad I decided to visit because I was blown away by our experience. The salesmen seemed more like educators and consultants than sales people. On our first visit, the gentleman stayed past closing time to speak with us, not rushing us in any way. On subsequent visits, a new salesman helped us, and was already familiar with what we wanted! In other words, we were important enough for them to communicate to the whole staff our names and needs in finding a new mattress. Upon installation, we discovered the mattress pad was not on the delivery truck as it should have been. The salesman brought it to us that evening!!!! Wow, this place is the real deal. For the past fifteen years I have been struggling to find a mattress that was fitting for my ongoing back problem. The concept of a latex mattress at Gardner's caught my attention so my significant other and I stopped in to take a look and try the product. Betsy even stayed in their sleep room for a few hours. We found the sales people very well informed, polite, patient and at no time high pressure. We ended up buying a latex mattress and so far the sleep experience has been very positive. Both of us have a different degree of firmness and Gardner offers the option of changing the level of firmness at any time. I bought my bed from the guys about a year ago. I was referred by my chiropracter when I was having back and neck pain. Customer Service was incredible.
