What a beautiful and easy-to/manage train station that takes you throughout the region. The Metro goes right there and there's even lockers on the bottom floor to store your luggage.a large locker that fit four suitcases and six bags, cost 9.50 Euros for the day. Not a bad price at all!

This station was pretty awesome, and I'm still somewhat surprised that it isn't connected to Gare du Nord. It could have been, but I suspect that they never got around to doing it, and now it is just too difficult to actually do that. Anyway, it's a short walk to the other station. Actually, it turned out that this was the first station I arrived at when I came to Paris for the first time. It's a pretty cool, and pretty large, station as well. Oh, it services all (or most) of the lines that head out east from Paris.

This train station is also called Paris-Est. The train at station is in the 10th arrondissement. You can walk from Gare du Nord. It was opened in 1849 and was first called Gare de Strasbourg. This is where the Orient Express used to go from. Trains going East leave from here for example, to Reims, Nancy, Metz, Strasbourg, Stuttgart, Frankfurt & Munich.

One of my favorite stations here in Paris. There's plenty of stores, very clean, easy to catch taxis and Uber, and there's even electric bikes you can rent right outside the main entrance. Oh , don't forget to visit the Cafe de l'Est, it's really good food with excellent service. Bonjour!

Took the fast train from Germany into Paris France. The ride was a breeze and well appointed as we were in the first class train. I highly recommend you not skimp on the ticket and go first class. The ride was about 3 hours and made several stops but it was the fastest way in. We are ben had the food which was a typical fast gas station type of fare but not bad. Every cart has its own bathroom- if you're in first. Again don't skimp

Very clean and easy to navigate. I like that the entrance to the platforms seem to be very close so that it doesn't take much work or worry in order to get to your train.

It's really too bad that one has to catch the Eurostar from Gare du Nord. I'd really much rather catch a train here at Gare de l'Est. It is a much more sane station! We took the metro from Les Halles to Gare de l'Est to catch the TGV to Reims. We had a little time to spare, so we did some window shopping before boarding our train. We also used the Pay Toilettes for 1€. The toilet cleans itself before you use it. Nice. Don't mind paying for clean toilets! As soon as the departure screen showed our train's platform number, we headed to our train. We got lucky that our car was the first car. If you haven't had the chance to ride a bullet train like the TGV, do it! Our train to Reims was new and the ride was very comfortable even though the train was going as fast as 197 miles per hour! Really cool since we have nothing like this in the States! Oh and the train station has free wifi for 20 min! All you need to do is watch a short video.

Just arrived on the train in Paris.

This station is huge! They offered us complimentary water upon our arrival, we assume as a kind gesture to help make up for the hour late arrival. I expect we will spend more time here when we leave Paris tomorrow, so I'll update my review if they have WiFi available. For now we just headed straight to see the city sights and didn't linger at the station.

I think Gare de l'Est is cleaner and friendlier than Gare du Nord. I love the heaters that are outside for waiting passengers to stay warm in the winter. The associates at the SNCF office are very helpful. I just wish smoking was not allowed in the station. Easy access to the Metro. There is a nice selection of shops to grab a coffee, book or magazine, electronics, cosmetics, chocolate, or clothing.

La gare de l'Est is, for me, the most beautiful parisian train. It is majestic and reserved, beautiful and discreet. Unlike the other major stations in Paris, the Gare de l'Est looks like a train station of rich provincial town. It lies in the tenth arrondissement, near from Gare du Nord. This is a pleasant idea that walking from one to the other. From the Gare de l'Est, travellers go to such cities as Reims, Strasbourg, Mulhouse and Germany by using TGV East or TER.

Excellent train station. Open, easy to find the way and the trains leave on time. Travelled to Annecy and everything went fine!

Did you, dear reader, know that there was an actual abbey in this location during the Middle Ages? 300 feet below this station, there actually was. Gypsum (a soft stone) mines were ubiquitous back in the day. There existed a vast network of quarry tunnels, which, in time, did need to be filled by the city by high-pressured concrete. Needless, the mines closed in 1840's, The actual metro platform was built at bedrock, 285!! steps below Place des Abbesses (where the station is located).. yup! I wish I had read the wikipedia entry earlier, as I would have known that this is one the last remaining original Hector Guimard entrances. There is a lift ("elevator" in American) from the platform to the ticket concourse level and then a flight of stairs to street level. At 118 feet, it is apparently one of the deepest stations in Paris. If you're feeling healthy, consider taking the windy stairs and enjoy the murals of the area. I didn't know, so I missed it. *sad face* When you get to the surface, follow the tourists to the left along Rue Yvonne le Tac towards the base of Montmartre. The station is on Line 12, between Pigalle and Lamarch-Caulaincourt, in zone 1.

The kiosk takes credit cards and cash. There offer several languages. If you are in the city for several days, I recommend the T+ ten pack. The pack makes each ticket $1.80. My last recommendations- try to avoid rush hours, and load the Paris RATP app. It's easy to use and was a great help finding the lines to take. Rode it alone without issues.
