The team of the knowledgeable staff at the visitor centre were FANTASTIC! They were very thorough and provided us with many options on the different site seeing tours. We decided to take a zodiac boat ride into the St Lawrence river for a day of whale watching. It was incredible. They made suggestions of where to eat and best places to shop for the local artisan souvenirs. Most of the representatives are fluent in English, Spanish, and of course, French! :) I feel like there is so much more we didnt get to see and I'm planning on another trip to Vieux Quebec next year. I highly recommend a visit to the tourist centre on Rue Saint-Anne as soon as you arrive to this beautiful historic city. They will help you plan a memorable and magical stay.

Cars are allowed on the ferry. There is plenty of seating inside and out, and there are two levels . The day we went it was a bit overcast, but the views of Old Quebec City , Governor's Promenade and Chateau Frontenac were wonderful. Most of the travelers on the ferry were tourists and riding the ferry for fun. It was well worth it to sit and enjoy the views.

Having read in more than one place that the Quebec-Lévis ferry is something one should do I did it…read more I won't say it was bad but neither will I say it's a must. A few days earlier a guide at a place in Old Quebec had mentioned hailing from Lévis and literally described it as a place with nothing to do and no reason to go. My readings had indicated that the sole reason to go was to see the view of Quebec City from the ferry so when the ferry landed in Lévis seeing Lévis wasn't amongst my desires. The ferry is inexpensive and tickets are purchased on site before boarding. Crossing the St. Lawrence to Lévis takes less than 20 minutes and the ride is pleasant and stable. With lots of outdoor (and indoor) seating, feeling the breeze is as good a reason as any for a ride. At Lévis one must disembark the ferry regardless of whether a return trip is planned. Taking only a brief look at the town - from the ferry terminal - provided ample information that there was no real reason for me to hang out there. If I'd missed this ferry ride - and the view of the city from the river - I'd not have been disappointed but having done it, I have no regrets.

We were impress by the modern design of the cars specially the restroom, something from Star Wars. It was bigger than most restrooms in planes or trains that we've seen. The doors curved open and close. The seats were comfortable and the scenery was enjoyable! The train stations of either end of the ride are beautiful, lots of shops and clean, lots of stained glass and ornate. The outside of the building was even more beautiful! Compared this train to Amtrack, this is MOST IMPROVED!

We ordered a few wines and beers and enjoyed the tour. We had prepaid for lunches, so grabbed those on the first floor and sat in the luncheonette area. It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. We especially appreciated having a parking lot on site, so we didn't need to pay exorbitant prices or look for parking elsewhere. What also amazed us was how quiet our stay was considering that we were only half a block away from a very busy street. Honestly, we would rate this Hotel an A+++.

The bikes were great, but where this shop really shines is the service. The staff was just incredibly friendly. We had stopped by the day before to make sure they had availability, and they took the initiative and got our bikes set up for the next day before we showed up. We were ready to go in minutes. Every single person that works here was helpful and welcoming. If you're considering renting bikes in Quebec, this is the place.

We reserved ahead but staff were flexible when our plans unfortunately had to change (I rode a single the first week when my partner couldn't get away). Staff went all out to make sure we had a wonderful visit. Cyclo provided well-fitting helmets, a lock, and bungie cords. Cycling is a great way to see this beautiful part of the world. Located in Old Quebec City, across from Château Frontenac, visitors to the bureau can gather information on all Quebec destinations. Very well maintained, brochures, pamphlets of tours, and excursions are there. folks will help you out with any questions. the tours meet right outside the office which is very convenient (across the famous Chateau Hotel). As every place is nearby, it was our go-to place for restrooms. By the way, there are many restrooms in this area. like 5 minutes of walking, loved it.

NOT MUCH INFO AT TOURIST INFORMATION CENTER…read more The Information Touristique center is located in a large corner building on Rue Sainte-Anne across from Place d'Armes (near the Monument to Samuel de Champlain and Chateau Frontenac) . It was an odd visit to a tourist information center where one expects to find racks full of maps, brochures and restaurant flyers. The stark and empty room suggested that the information center was winding down after a busy summer tourist season. I saw a few posters on the wall but no brochures. Although I was the only visitor in the center, a woman gave me a number and directed me to stand on a non-existent line to speak to a representative. The representative gave me one map of Old Quebec and when asked, she had no brochures or flyers to give me. Note - some visitors might find the stairs and the heavy front door a challenge when visiting the tourism office.

The Hotel is very old so some rooms have a bathroom in the hall way while others have a shower in the bedroom they also have a few with private bathrooms. But hey this place has character and is in an amazing place in the heart of Old Quebec. Parking is not available on site but can be purchased for 15 dollars a day and you can park right around the corner in an underground garage. The ticket allows you to leave and return once each day. Odds are you wont need your car being that everything is right outside your door. Overall this old Quebec hotel is full of character and is in an absolutely amazing location. A great place to stay to truly get the feel of Quebec City.
