Doctor Cooke - rating 5 of 5. He is great, and great with child athletes…read more The DMC and office processes around him 1 of 5 at best. My latest was to arrive - 4-5 weeks after our last appointment with a "we have to redo forms, scan insurance card, drivers license, etc as it's a new year.". Nothing has changed? "Yeah - it's our policy." Really? Policy or complete inefficiency? Inefficiency for sure. I then had to sign 3 printed sheets - (is this 2023? Or 1993?). I received a 3 page receipt which I didn't even need a printed receipt for a $15 copay. Why waste the paper and tree? Why not at least ask me if I wanted or needed? Or even better email if I need it (doubtful). Doctor experience ?- great. Office experience? - terrible.

I tried doing interval…read moretraining on the treadmill and worked out too hard .. thought I was untouchable and getting in shape for the summer. Being as smart as I am ;-), I knew not to go to my primary physician because they would just send me to the hospital for x-rays. I also knew that if I went to a sports medicine Doctor, they would have an x-ray machine onsite and the doctors specialize in injuries such mine. After some research, and calling around a few places, the DMC Sports Medicine office was accommodating for same day service. The receptionist who answered the phone was so so nice and said she could get me into the office to see Dr. Kakos in the afternoon. As many as you have experienced, the receptionists usually think they are doing us a favor by allowing us to be seen- not a this place. Everyone, including the nurse was very pleasant and helpful. Moving on to Dr. Kakos! He was amazing! He had a great attitude, listened, and very thorough. He explained the pros and cons and how he came to his diagnosis. I am so glad I found a good Doctor that specializes in injuries related to the gym/sports.. etc etc. Also, I was very happy that I didn't wait at all.. I was in and out with a x-ray within 1 hour. If I had gone to the ER, I would have been there for 5-6 hours.

My husband went to Dr. Khalil two years ago for a spinal fusion L1S4. After years of suffering pain…read moreand then nerve pain, he was fixed...100% fixed. Recovery took 6-8 weeks as expected but has been pain free since. During his recovery, I started experiencing hip pain. I learned is had a deteriorated SI (sacroiliac) joint. I treated it with steroid injections every 90 days for a year and a half which helped but never quite got me out of pain. We went back to Dr. Khalil and he was able to schedule me for a bilateral SI fusion where they bolt the two joint together from each side to avoid the unnecessary movement in the joint. Although fairly noninvasive, I was back to work in two weeks and now my pain is also 100% gone!!! Dr. Khalil is literally the best surgeon!!! We were both scared making surgery decisions and our only regret now is that we didn't do it sooner. His PA's are also amazing and helped with all our questions and help explain things in normal terms. If you are in pain, we would highly recommend him or at least consider him for a second opinion. He is not one to rush you into surgery which is hard to find these days but definitely the surgeon you want when the time comes!

They did absolutely nothing. I would post a picture but it's far too graphic. I would rate them a ZERO if I could. During the appointment a second person came in and looked at his finger and told him maybe he'll be one of those people where the finger will grow back. Really? Then I guess we wouldn't need incompetent surgeons like those who my Grandson was referred to by the hospital.

Unisource was the facility where Dr. G did my surgery and it was great. Dr. Guettler was such an amazing Orthopedic Surgeon. He walked me through the process and was very good with explaining what I needed and what to expect with my recovery. He also was great when it came to my post care follow up. He made sure I was 100% before sending me back to work. I'm so glad I decided to go to the Michigan Orthopedic Surgeons Group and Dr. Guettler! If you're dealing with a sports medicine injury you Definitely should consider going to Michigan Orthopedic Surgeons Group and Dr. Guettler!!

I notified the front desk that since I would not be present at his appointment that I'd like to speak to the new physical therapist to get to know her and ask how the session went. I never received a phone call. After speaking to the therapist, my response was "Well, we don't give out patient information." I reminded her that I'm the patient's parent and he's 5 months old. Speaking to the office manager led to me being told that we missed three appointments (we missed two) and that we would no longer be able to come back. Not happy.
