As such, it feels wrong to say anything bad about Adel club, however, the clientèle must be mentioned - there are a few grumpy old fellas who won't look favourably upon you unless you're on their side of fifty. If you venture into the snooker hall (which is actually very reasonably priced and well maintained), you are likely to get a few comments from the elders if you do anything remotely out of line. It's a good place to hang out on a lazy Sunday afternoon, with plenty of sports teams to watch (cricket, football, hockey) on the pitches by the social club, yet the appearance of the club, both in and out, is unappetising. Luckily, the fact that you can get a pint of bitter for a scandalously cheap price means that you soon forget about this.

Despite the club's youth, it has grown into a popular place for beginners and advanced players alike, with the challenging course and interesting views seemingly drawing the crowds - the club's entrance has a huge banner informing you that the place is 'the fastest growing golf facility in the north'. A round here will cost you upwards of between £20 and £25, putting it somewhere between the council courses such as Wike Ridge (£18) and the more upmarket courses such as Headingley (£40), and this reflects the standard of the course - rather middle of the road. The driving range, putting green and club house are both excellent additions to the main course, although somewhat overpriced (£3.50 for a bucket of 50 golf balls at the range). Overall, Cookridge is an enjoyable course, but does suffer from slightly infated prices - there are other courses where you get more value for money, and I would suggest Wike Ridge or Horsforth over Cookridge. However, if you do play Cookridge, I suggest using an iron on the 18th tee - or drive the green and go fishing for your ball.

The place appears to have been very well planned and designed and am sure it will appeal to all. they really have thought of everything and the variety of equipment and machines will impress even the most experienced Gym bunny! Sun Lane Leisure has the following facilities: A six lane 25m pool with adjustable depth ( A 13m x 7m studio pool with adjustable depth (this has a floating bottom so the depth can be brought to zero, this in effect covers the pool and it looks invisible) A 100 station fitness suite A multi-use activity studio A health suite with steam room and sauna which are pool side There are dedicated changing rooms for both pool and gym, on separate floors and they are top class with lovely finishing touches. The pool offers family changing rooms or separate cubicles. 130 capacity spectator viewing area Café and spectator area refreshments vending machines. I was previously using the Lightwaves Leisure Centre which has now been replaced by the Sun Lane Centre and I am so impressed by the massive upgrade to first class which I feel we now have within our Community. Many of the Lightwaves Staff have transferred across and i am pleased to see some new faces have joined the now sizable Team. The Staff are highly trained and experienced, knowledgeable, approachable and very keen to assist, support and encourage you. The Staff here are very used to all manner of abilities and shapes and sizes and they really are experts and sensitively deal with those of us who are very unfit and GP referrals. Please do not expect to find a Gym full of young trendy skinny beauties, this Gym really has a mix of ages and everyone is friendly and welcoming to all users, it really feels like there is mutual respect for all here. Sun Lane Leisure is fully accessible for people with disabilities, with a lift to the second floor and gym so all floors are accessible. There is also accessible changing, level access and hoists into both pools. A key feature to be included in Sun Lane Leisure is a Changing Places facility which offers special access for the disabled and will mean carers can assist those with a range of needs to change in safety and comfort. Features include height adjustable adult-sized changing benches, a tracking hoist system, space for the user and up to two carers, centrally placed toilet and screens for extra privacy. This changing facility will be available for anyone visiting the city and not just users of the facility.

First-Hand Experience: I have only seen York play away from home (at Oxford United), and it was a fantastic game. We thoroughly enjoyed it. David and I had planned to go to the away game but we didn't make it (his mother was ill). I've been to their home stadium twice since then but I haven't seen a game. York are a great team and I respect them a lot, but I don't have a real personal affinity and the crowd is always a little small, so I will stick with a 3. So anyway. This is the last team I'm reviewing outside the top 3 divisions of English football (circa 2014-15 season), unless I find some other ones I've watched play, been to, etc, along the way, which I'm sure I will. Speaking of which, would you like to make out with me? York is one of the prettiest cities in England, it's utterly historic and gorgeous and sensational. Which is why this little red-adorned 1922 team with a tiny 8k capacity really doesn't get the love it should get, because the town is just too awesome and fancy and collegey, and so it really never feels like a proper northern footy team atmosphere. Plus they're going to be demolishing the ground. And both reviews of this team need to be moved to the stadium Yelp page (which I'm about to review), because both are specifically about the stadium and not about the club, which will be leaving the stadium soon. They were outside the league for awhile by the way, but came back to the footy league in 2012.

After watching the Masters last week I had high hopes when arriving at Conyngham Hall that I could play a nice few shots and while it was a combo of one good hole followed by a few shankers, it was a nice enjoyable experience while making me think I probably shouldn't give up the day job. Tucked around the back of the nice arts and crafts centre, the leisure park is a great day out for family. There's tennis courts, pitch and putt (fairly decent sized course), crazy golf, putting and a nice outside seating area. The pitch and putt course is challenging and £4.10 for a round which was petty good value. Overall a nice place to hang out for a couple of hours and enjoy the lovely wooded scenery!
