The only other place in Leeds that I could find looks like it's basically for kids, which is a shame as they have the proper big trampolines. Anyway. This place? So much more than just bouncing. There is trampoline basket ball, trampoline jump in a foam pit, trampoline dodge ball... there's even a tight rope thing you can practice balance on. I love it! They've got a parkour thing in the works too, which is super exciting. Although, the guy didn't really seem to get me when I checked if there would be lessons and if those lessons would be cool for a not-teenager. Whatever I want to run up things. Staff all seem to be about 18. It does smell a little bit like boy and Lynx. But, forget that and just get your bounce on. My friend and I actually spent the first five minutes squealing and bouncing as high and/or as fast as we could until we both collapsed. How do kids DO IT?! Pro tip: warm up a bit. The air in there is super cold which makes your chest hurt if you go nuts like we did. One last question: what is it with alternative exercise places, lasers, and nineties dance music? I mean, weird. But I guess I like it too. DO IT. It's a tenner an hour. Don't go on weekends if you don't want to be surrounded by childs.

There is also a Starbucks here, although it didn't look too welcoming. It felt so uncomfortable that they openly admitted they did not trust customers to have food items in the fridges, and kept them all in the back - I totally understand loss prevention but I've never seen any Starbucks locations do this other than this one. The car park is HUGE, it felt way too big, but I'm sure due to the varied things to do and eat here, it can get quite busy, especially in such a peak location, being right off the motorway it makes it easily accessible through all points of the country. PRO TIP: If you're going on a longer journey, make this a stop off to get a bite to eat or something to drink, you have a selection of brands and you're not paying the high prices of motorway service stations. There is a small selection of shops here too, but nothing too special, this isn't really a place you'd come to shop. There's a sporting goods store and a WHSmith Travel location as I could recall, that's pretty much it. 4* - I like this place, it's pretty cool and certainly a good spot for a family day out.

Childrens parties: We had a bouncy castle which was a great hit with the kids, and then went into a room in which there was a full platter of finger foods and a birthday cake. They do offer different kinds of kids party such as roller disco's. Swimming: There are two pools; a small heated childrens pool and a larger pool. The small pool is brilliant for bringing babies and toddlers swimming and is regularly monitored that there is only a certain number of people in the pool to avoid over crowding. The larger pool is often sectioned off into two ares, a lanes swimming area and then an open pool area for the people who don't wish to swim in lanes. The changing rooms are normally quite clean and tidy although the air conditioning can make it a bit cold. There are 4 showers in the female changing rooms as well as a couple of toilets. Lockers are provided for everyone to use and cost £1 which you get back at the end of your session.

I was previously using the Lightwaves Leisure Centre which has now been replaced by the Sun Lane Centre and I am so impressed by the massive upgrade to first class which I feel we now have within our Community. Many of the Lightwaves Staff have transferred across and i am pleased to see some new faces have joined the now sizable Team. The Staff are highly trained and experienced, knowledgeable, approachable and very keen to assist, support and encourage you. The Staff here are very used to all manner of abilities and shapes and sizes and they really are experts and sensitively deal with those of us who are very unfit and GP referrals. Please do not expect to find a Gym full of young trendy skinny beauties, this Gym really has a mix of ages and everyone is friendly and welcoming to all users, it really feels like there is mutual respect for all here. Sun Lane Leisure is fully accessible for people with disabilities, with a lift to the second floor and gym so all floors are accessible. There is also accessible changing, level access and hoists into both pools. A key feature to be included in Sun Lane Leisure is a Changing Places facility which offers special access for the disabled and will mean carers can assist those with a range of needs to change in safety and comfort. Features include height adjustable adult-sized changing benches, a tracking hoist system, space for the user and up to two carers, centrally placed toilet and screens for extra privacy. Its all brand new and up to date and has over 100 stations and its nice and cool to so you don't get too warm when your working them muscles! Outside they have a fantastic synthetic turf ground for 6 a side football which is popular with many people. Not only that but they have dance studios, squash courts, spas, saunas and a relaxation area!! It is amazing. There is tables and seating and food can bought here from the cafe. Its the usual kids menu burger and chips, nuggets and chips and so on. Large jugs of juice can be bought for a £1. There is plenty of free parking outside. I have found that this place is either really quite durning the week or packed out on weekends and school holidays. I've been at times and my son has been the only person in but then gone on weekends and struggled to find anywhere to sit.

We come here quite regularly with the Mini MacDoos, Little Missus' school is just down the hill from here so most of the kids in her class seem to have their birthday parties here - in fact we had her 5th birthday party here earlier this year too. I think this guy thought he was impressing a group of mums as he came over and directly at my son raised his voice and told him to stop swearing. Under no circumstances would you go up to a child in the middle of an autistic meltdow n and be confrontational with them, especially with a less than sensitive attitude. It takes me a lot to not only get my son out of the house but to actually have the courage to take him somewhere. I did complain to the manager and said that this man had no right to speak to my son directly like that and if there was an issue he should have spoken to me quietly about it and not confront either of us in the way he did. The manager was no help saying she couldn't believe her member of staff had done this and that she wasn't there and over he came again all obnoxious saying that he did have the right to speak to my son like that. Wonderful customer service - NOT. From either the manager or her staff. All he kept saying was "there were babies there"! As the group of other mums left it was all "bye and thank you for coming". You need better training and to be more inclusive! My son can no more stop his autism than I can stop the rain from falling.

Jungle Gym mini classes take place all across Leeds at various leisure centres. The classes have to be booked in advance and you pay up front for the term. I decided to sign up at Kirkstall leisure centre they have a enrolment morning. It best to get their early as classes seem to be very popular. It is a bit of pain queueing up and sorting get your kid signed up as it took us nearly an hour and much of that was spent queueing to pay. Anyway once sign up for the term you just arrive for class day and time you've chosen. They run both morning and afternoon class various day of the week so should be one to suit everyone schedule. Basically parents/guardians work with their children under the guidance of a pre school gymnastics coach using hand apparatus and larger apparatus and soft play equipment to learn the basis skills of gymnastics and try to work towards attaining the six badges of the jungle gym rewards scheme. At our first class I was surprised how many children were their roughly 20. The class take place in a gym hall. Around the edges are larger apparatus for the children to climb and walk along. In the centre was soft play equipment for the children to crawl through and jump on. The instructor was very friendly and was wonderful with the children constantly encourage them and praising them. I was surprised how much was crammed into a 45 min class. My son played on the larger apparatus, got to try swinging which I have to say made me very nervous at first but the instructor held his hands while he held the bar of the swing and he loved it he was smiling and laughing while he was swinging it was great to watch him. She also got him started on forward rolls. There is also a time for singing songs and dancing. All the kids seemed to having a great time. I would suggest making sure you take a snack for little one afterwards as they are likely to be hungry and thirsty afterwards. It a fantastic was of getting them to excises and wear them out so they'll need a nice long nap so you can have so time to yourself. Also good place to meet and chat to other parents and carers everyone attending my class was very friendly and chatty. However, it's a fun place to take kidswho'll enjoy splashing about, and there is a reasonably impressive slide. There is also a jacuzzi and a small pool for swimming lessons. The changing rooms, whilst nothing special, are quite adequate - it's mixed sex but in cubicles, and there are also family changing rooms. The leisure centre has lots to offer in addition to the pool - squash and badminton courts, a small gym, swimming lesson, various aerobics and martial arts classes and a cafe which overlooks the pool, its smell of chips whetting the hunger od the swimmers. I think you can hire out the hall and a bouncy castle for kids' parties, and they do a roller disco which is pretty fun. I can reccommend the Rookies life saving classes, which children and teenagers can attend to learn about water safety and badic first aid. The first part of the class is theory, followed by practical work in and around the pool - and you can work towards a recognised qualification.
