I peed in the woods and began my journey through the swamp. Things started out smoothly until the path became flooded and a wild snake attacked my buddy. He threw a stick on it. My feet became moist and I felt squeamish. After several days of walking I finally made it to the lake. I saw one alligator and one woman was attempting to force her child to swallow a worm. I would've eaten that worm if she'd asked me to. A cool man caught a fish right in front of me which almost made me scream. I am glad to be in Louisiana and not Arkansas. Arkansas sucks. Ours had 2 bunk beds in one room, 1 queen bed in another room and a pull out couch. Very spacious with 3 parking spots right in front! It was so clean and stocked with all the essentials. The staff here are also amazing! We knew we would be driving in after hours and they made sure we could access our cabin and check in the next morning! We even rented 2 kayaks and they made that process was too! We had easy access to the docks and were able to get some fishing done! The kids loved the park and we even hiked on the nearby trails! This place is kept so nice and felt private! We had such a great experience we would do this again and recommend staying here!

Neither were very inspiring. I definitely spent more time picking up trash than enjoying the park. They have a pool, but it's not in service and the visitor center was also closed. It would have been nice to know these things before paying for a complete waste of time. My favorite part was the spigot in the picture. Instead of using a frost-proof setup, they littered the landscape with fiberglass and duct tape. Unreal...

We came with a group of three families who all arrived separately in three RVs...and three separate versions of the same story: rude, flat, and unaccommodating. We also had a prepaid 2-night reservation made for a friend that we needed to cancel. But despite our multiple efforts to call ahead and cancel (NO ANSWER...three different people, various times a day, multiple attempts), she would only refund one night with no explanation as to why we couldn't get refunded for both nights when it was not our fault for not being able to reach their office before actually arriving. Just sad that a beautiful place like this has such a grumpy gatekeeper. Would be quite a different experience with someone who liked their job and working with people.

This is coming from someone who has had camping experience for many years all over the country…read more Have also been camping here several years in spite of the following flaws; most importantly is the very dirty condition of the nearly new bathhouse. Floors and showers have not been cleaned in weeks and there is probably half an inch of dead bugs on the outside patio. Your feet crunch all the way in. Plus the outside doors do not lock and the bathroom and shower stall doors can't be locked either. Also, eliminating some of the signs at the entrance would afford a more welcoming atmosphere for campers. It's like a slap in the face when you drive in! Great fishing, lots of room, trails, beach, boat launches but hardly anyone here . This place could be a great campground and a really moneymaker if someone with experience would pay attention to some of these details and make some pretty simple changes.
