There are so many bed and breakfast choices on Pilrig street its hard to determine where one ends and another begins so it was by mere fluke that some friends of mine chose Garlands.
We are greeted with a warm friendly Scottish welcome - although there was no kilt involved and the grand tour. The breakfast room was small but neat and the breakfast itself was huge with all the Scottish trimmings.
The basement room we had was huge and clean especially for a twin room and they even provided a bottle of that antibacterial soap stuff you dont need water for which was a nice touch but also made me think what do they think we are gonna do in here!
There was also 500 different teas and hot chocolates provided with a water jug which was a nice homely touch and of course biscuits which is always the first thing I look for when staying away from home a nice cup of tea and a biscuit.
It was really central as well which was great cause it wasn't expensive at all compared to what you could pay so close to the centre of town, so yeah all up pretty impressive really, clean, friendly and central. Its not a palace but its clean and cheerful enough and quite a good standard of accomodation when you dont want to spend heaps but still want somewhere nice. read more
