This market is open year round on Sundays and in the summer they add Saturdays. The covered pavilion hosts a variety of vendors. Beyond farmers selling fruits and veggies there are vendors selling seafood, cheese, baked goods, coffee, jewelry, pickled veggies, jams, and illustrated note cards among other local items. The parking lot can be busy, especially in the summer months, but spots turn over quickly.

The elderly woman who runs this farm stand is such a sweetheart, and she has a great sense of humor. We love getting the sweet corn here as they are naturally sweet, juicy, and just quite lovely with whatever grill-out you plan to have. they also have cantaloupes, watermelon, squash, zucchini, and other fresh produce available. While the market is on the small side, they maximize space and have quite a few vendors and plenty of parking. Despite being able to conduct a rather brisk walkthrough of the market, I was also able to pick up several items along the way before I headed to another market. Overall, if you're in the area this market is worth a visit. It's also worth considering if you're not in the area but keeping in mind that it's small would be prudent.

Pretty respectable-sized establishment! There were a lot of vendors selling things that were not food/produce. I think I saw more people selling soaps, creams, and body butter than any other product. Great selection to choose from if that's what you're looking for. I ended up having a nice chat with one of the guys who had a nice variety of soaps both scented and unscented. Several vendors were selling potted plants. I imagine the produce stands are more represented in the peak of summer and fall. There were a few when we went (early May) selling some cabbages and other leafy greens as well as some apples and root veggies. At the one end of the parking lot were several trucks hawking food and drinks. I had been told to look for a donut truck, but none to be found the day we went. There was one selling coffees, another selling cold-pressed juices, and another selling pizzas. Bonus: there is a port-a-potty available to all. I've been to bigger markets without one and I think it's brilliant that one is available.

The crab was from Alabamaif I remember and we threw it away because it was not edible. The oysters were tasty but not very big. Today I just bought 20 oysters in the Shell. Not only are they small, but they sound hollow. They also don't take much effort to open. So I doubt that I will drive by Little River anymore. I pay extra and get my Seafood there from now on. It's a shame, because Kellums used to be very dependable and fresh with consistency.
