A review written in haste, or in anger, for example, won't be helpful to the patient who trusts it, and could even be harmful. I have been to this hospital several times from the mid 90s (excruciating and unstoppable headaches) through the mid 2000s (gallbladder removal, unstoppable headaches, mammogram, blood work, hiatal hernia surgery). For the most part, everything went off without a hitch. In a nutshell, I can say I have always been treated successfully, politely and attentively. I can not say that all my combined experiences were without issues. My gallbladder removal surgery in 2005 went fine. My recovery was not the simple 'out-patient' experience. I went in on a Thursday and came out Sunday evening. I could not get over the sickness from the anesthesia. That wasn't the hospital's fault, but my body's inability to overcome quickly. While recovering from that surgery, a nurse in training and her supervisor came to give me a shot for pain. She rolled me onto my side and I was prepared to fill it stick my butt. She did not. She, instead, gave it to me on the side of my leg, hitting a nerve over the side hip bone. I spent almost a year in physical rehab to regain the ability to walk properly. I was subjected to endurring a 'nerve damage test', that involved having a needle inserted under my skin and electrical pulses sent through it. The needles weren't inserted locally to my damaged area, but a variety of places from top to bottom, front to back, of BOTH legs. That was torture. According to numbers you find online, the 'readmit' (readmission within 30 days) for coronary, pneumonia, and heart attack is on average 25%. Put that into perspective, Regional Medical Center in Memphis, Tn averages 19%. They have several events throughout the year that benefit the community. I've had doctors that exhausted every effort to pin down the cause of my problems and there have been doctors that see me briefly and walk away. I was even referred by one to see a mental health specialist to determine if it was "in my mind" not in a hypochondriac way, but keeping stress and such inside and it tearing me down. The Psych people determined that I have Sjogren's, but the meds to treat have side effects worse that the symptoms of the disease. I had a very bad experience one morning several years ago and as a result have become a patient of Dr. Edmondson. I arrived at work one morning feeling fine and just before the employee meeting I went to the bathroom to tinkle. I was washing my hands and for no reason got very weak and sick. I was in the bathroom for just over an hour vomiting, sweating, crying and freaking out a little. I dried off, cleaned up, put my shirt back on and returned to work as if nothing happened. I was white as a piece of paper, felt 10 lbs lighter and knew I would be seeing a doctor to determine why that happened. Tests couldn't find a reason, but that bout of distress resulted in me getting a hiatal hernia. That brings me to the office of Dr. Edmondson and his surgical skills to put me right. Dr. Edmondson falls into the small group of doctors that exhausts all efforts to help a patient. His bedside manner is always quite, attentive and concerned. I've been through many tests via Dr. Edmondson and as a result have had a couple laparoscopic procedures performed by him and one procedure has left me unable to vomit again. I think that is a good thing so far. Of course, I haven't had the need to test it out and hope I never do. Since my operations I will be required to see Dr. Edmondson yearly for an endoscopy peek of my stomach and esophagus to ensure all is still good. I still have issues cropping up but nothing that Dr. Edmondson isn't willing to talk to me about and work on. I always get emotional and cry when I do see him for my follow up because the symptoms I deal with in public settings are embarrassing and emotionally draining and telling them to him makes me cry. He is always sympathetic and quietly listens to me and I don't get the feeling of being rushed through. ****Update: 5-1-2015 he prescribed a powdered medicine for me to use when I have flare-ups of cramping and diarrhea while eating/shortly afterward. This has made a HUGE difference in my life!!! I can make it through a meal in public now! Anyone suffering these debilitating and embarrassing episodes should consult a doctor and ask for a prescription for CHOLESTYRAMINE. It is for cholesterol, but the side effect is beneficial to people suffering stomach and colon issues.

Burnsville is located just a hair past Corinth west of Memphis/Olive Branch/Southaven and a really lovely straight drive right through. We've literally packed a large sized SUV floor to ceiling with our finds and all of us have had custom work done there by a man I swear is an artist his work is just so wonderful...so if you find you have a mind to travel a ways (100 miles one way) then this trip is definitely worth it!!!
