This place is the LITERAL DEVIL. I have PROFF that I attempted to cancel their services almost ONE YEAR AGO. And WITHOUT FAIL. Multiple times per month...they send me more bills. They have been charging me for services that I denied and have explicit proof of such. Once I finally think the issue has been resolved and they agree to refund me...not only do they NOT refund me...they send me a new bill! Disgusting. No matter how many times I call...email the requested proof...call the corporate office of which they are a broker for (Mercury Insurance) they continue to point the blame elsewhere...just a big game to them. Will they send me bill to collections? Probably. Will they ever refund me what they have ALREADY agreed/understood should have never been charge? Probably not. I call and leave messages. PLEASE READ this! This is a "wow" review. I received a notice 2 months prior that my homeowner's insurance agency will discontinue service. During my two months of calling from a list of fifty, filling out the online quotes, and calling each one individually, only Melva M. Kiser from Garrison Insurance Agency had the patience to work with me and gave me options. She was very understanding, friendly, and prompt in responding to my questions via email and call-ins, where all but one other seemed too overwhelmed with calls. Some honestly and outright say they cannot help me. (I do note that there are many people in my situation and people in a panic to be insured). She was the one who helped me get the California Fair Plan insurance right away and continued to work with me to extend the limits beyond basic Fire. THANK YOU so much Melva! Simply Disgusting. We requested cancellation of a policy, sent in the appropriate paperwork and.... they simply didn't cancel it. Allegedly they submitted the request to the insurer (Travelers). When we got renewal paperwork several months later, we found out that it wasn't in fact cancelled. We called in to Garrison and complained and they literally told us that they "did [their] job" and that Travelers does this to people all the time. Well, if their job is to represent the company (insurance companies don't even want to speak directly to you about policy issues - they push you back to the agency), then no, they did not do their job. Especially if they admit to knowing that there are problems with an insurer cancelling a policy. They don't seem to have any issues continuing to cash their commission checks, though. What a bunch of lying, cheating, thieving scam artists. [UPDATE] - I was contacted later by someone who promised to have this resolved within a few business days and we'll see what happens. That being said, she told me that they had only found out about the Travelers cancellation "glitch" when I called in. Which simply can't be true, because I had only spoken to a person once, and they immediately gave me that answer off the top of their head. Pro-tip: when caught in a lie, for crying out loud stop digging]. [UPDATE 2] - In response to the owner's comment: The person who initially answered the phone could not have possibly cared less, and made it exceptionally clear that your agency feels that its role in dealing with insurers ends with submitting paperwork to them, and that any follow-up or fall-out is the customer's problem. And yes, I hung up on her because I was very upset and she was laughing at me. Go ahead and say whatever you want and make whatever donations you want to charities that don't interest me. Bad people get bad reviews, and you people are the worst.] [UPDATE 3] - One month later, Travelers insurance is still taking money out of my checking account. Requested inquiry as to where the bills are generated from. It took 3 emails to get an answer from Melba. Be very leary of Melva's business practice. Absolutely terrible customer service. I don't understand how a business that runs purely on customer service & relies on its customers is only open 9am - 5:30pm Mon - Fri (which is normal hours people work) so it is impossible to get a hold of them! How does a business close at 5:30pm every weekday and then doesn't even open up on the weekends to help the average working. consumer. Then when you finally do get a hold of them Alma is rude about it, she is very unhappy and very unhelpful. I have called in three times to change my address on the account and everything keeps getting sent to my old address, even after they have "confirmed" that it really has been changed. I have called Alma to make changes to my policy to make it more affordable but she sounds annoyed and refuses to saying that there is no cheaper option every time. I got a cheaper quote from another company so I called in to cancel & then finally Alma decides to try and lower my policy. At this point I'm over it & I'm changing to an insurance company that is more customer service based with better hours to help their customers. Bye Garrison & Alma, we won't be back. read more
