I am writing in regards to your company's failure to perform simple required functions of your job that as a result of your agent's ineptitude have created unnecessary harms and additional expenses to me. Your company has exhibited a number of unacceptable mistakes that have caused excessive delay in starting the work needed to repair my vehicle. This has both created preventable hardships for me as I have had to be without my vehicle while it has been in your possession, and increased the costs of the overall claim as it needlessly sits in a parking lot in the direct sun while gasoline remained poured over the vehicle (at the detriment to the paint). I have tried to expedite this situation as much as possible including providing all requested information expeditiously and accepting to have the repairs done at a GEICO repair facility. I have had to call repeatedly to check the status of the repair only to be given incoherent answers and inaccurate information. For your information, my car was stolen and then recovered on 11/3/17. The electronics were torn out, the interior trashed, and the vehicle was slathered in gasoline - apparently to hide fingerprints of the thieves. On 11/6/17 the car was moved to a Geico lot where it has apparently remained since. Three weeks after the incident, despite more than 6 outgoing phone calls from me, those incompetent puzzlewits failed to authorize payment as they were "waiting for a police report". When I called the 7th time, Jon Quinto, my "agent" finally looked up the report in the police database. MAGICALLY, there it was. I was then told payment was authorized and repairs underway in the shop GEICO had towed it to. Two days later, 11/29, I called the adjuster, who told me he was STILL negligent in getting that work started, and would contact the shop. Come to TODAY, 12/5 I call the shop for status, as my adjuster Mr. Dang told me to do, and they told me the work had not been authorized to start. My car has been covered in gasoline for a MONTH due to gross incompetence, negligence, and profound lack of professionalism. The rental has run out, and I'm livid. I want to know specifically what is going to be done to remedy this situation both in regards to addressing the incompetence of your office and to the losses I have incurred as a result. There must be some basic performance standards for your company, and I need someone to explain to me how such incompetence could happen over such simple duties. You are legally obligated to provide coverage under our agreement, and I am insistent on enforcing that obligation to ensure that the repair of my vehicle is done in a proper, complete, and safe manner. If I do not see immediate and satisfactory responses to your company's negligence then I will file a complaint with the California Department of Insurance and consider hiring legal counsel to recover damages. Please know I have also been documenting this process on multiple social media accounts, and have an audience following how this unfolds as a representation of your business. I will also consider reviews and filing with the Better Business Bureau. I've been with GIECO for more than 15 years. Never. Again. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. My "adjuster" (in charge of the Menifee area), named Holly Garcia completely failed at doing her job. She ordered my mechanic to remove new parts they have replaced and already put in my vehicle and put in the old smashed up parts from my crash so they wouldn't have to pay as much. WHICH IS ILLEGAL, they were deemed unsafe parts to be placed back on a car!! She refused to fix my hood. Refused to fix cracked mirrors. She even refused to approve getting my frame checked for damage even though I was crashed into going 70MPH. She gave me a rotten attitude the entire time and it was extremely difficult to get a hold of her when I had questions. I have never had to deal with such a difficult rude person before. Horrible treatment and horrible service from Holly, Geico should be ASHAMED. Hollys supervisor named Carma Dillard also FAILED at doing her job. Another rude person that refuses to help. Carma decided one day that she didn't want to fix anything else on my car and decided to say issues were from previous damage out of nowhere. I sent a picture of my brand new 2016 car to them showing them it was brand new before this accident and she is still refusing to help. Horrible service and treatment from Carma Dillard also. I own my home and we have a rental property in back of us. I recently switched insurances to Geico. An inspector came out ( without notifying us) to inspect both properties. The inspector told us we needed a spark arrester fpr one of our chimneys for our home. It actually was an air vent that was disconnected! After a few phone calls and sending in pictures, we were cleared. This inspector had NO CLUE what he was doing. Next, he inspected our rental property and we had to make ridiculous adjustments to that. We thought we were in the clear, UNTIL.... I received an email saying that BOTH our properties needed to be with the same company and it was going to cost us another $450. Definitely a "bait and switch!" The man who sold us our policies was ignorant of this fact and signed us up with two different companies. It is his job to know better! I am furious and do NOT recommend Geico for anything. I would rather pay a bit more and get an ethical insurance company!!! read more

I was involved In a three car accident where a Geico client driving a Mercedes ran a red light, crashed Into a Prius In front of me, causing the Mercedes to spin completely around, and hit me on the passenger door as well as cause my car to hit the Prius. The accident occurred November 17, 2016. The CHP came to the site and took statements from both myself, the Mercedes driver as well as two unidentified witnesses to the accident. Luckily, I took photos of the crash as well. The driver of the Prius was taken to the hospital in an ambulance. Despite the CHP report which stated unequivocally that the Mercedes was at fault, Geico at first refused to admit liability, then claimed that the Prius driver was 25% At fault. Geico refused to repair the passenger side door until I finally sent them a photo of the accident. I hired an appraiser to determine the diminished value of my car and sent that notice to Geico. They completely denied my claim of diminished value so I had to go to small claims court to litigate. I won a default judgment on July 3, 2017. After waiting 30 day appeal time frame, I called Geico demanding my settlement. They then said the judgment had not been signed by the judge, even though It was certified by the clerk of the court. I finally received my diminished value settlement on August 22 2017 more than nine months after the accident. Geico stone walled me the entire time, and I will never recommend them To anyone In the future. Whenever I see an advertisement for Geico I immediately mute The TV read more

GEICO sucks. Never mind the cutesy gecko in the commercials that flood the airwaves all day long. I was a customer of theirs for about 27 years and when I filed a claim they screwed me. They hook up with disreputable body shops that don't get the job done to save money. When I complained that my repair was not done, they tried to lay a bullshit story on me that it was a preexisting condition. So, I paid my $500 deductible and was left with the damage. After arguing with the adjuster and someone in the main office, I was told "Well, you can always file another claim." Sure, and pay another deductible. Screw that. read more

I rented my home therefore I had to change from owner occupied to landlord. Katie told me that I had to cancel my policy and write a new one. She quoted me about $750 which was about the same price that I was already paying. I sent in a check and after weeks when a refund didn't arrive I called back Katie. I was stunned to hear that she didn't order a new policy because the quote came in higher than expected ( $1400) because I had a claim two years prior on a different unrelated property. She said that she called but she never did and she held on to the check. I called GEICO directly and purchased the policy for the original quote of $750. I volunteer the information of a prior claim and was told that it didn't matter because it was a different property. My disappointment was the fact that the agency didn't keep me informed, held on to the check and failed to get me a more competitive bid. read more

This review is about the quote process. I started shopping around since my premium on my current company dropped by 186. That made me extremely happy and started shopping around to see what other rates I can get. Most companies quoted me lower than the next renewal of my current company; geico quoted me the same as last quarter when I applied. A previous agent six months ago told me over the phone to try again around this time and guaranteed me my rates will drop, it did not. I asked an honest question on why my rates are so much higher, or why they stayed the same. They say it's due to my driving history... I've been driving since I was 16. Granted I do have DWI in New York, but in California after three years they evaluate your driving history (some insurance companies) and will give you better rates if clean; which I was. no moving violations since 2007, or at fault accidents. Long story short, if you don't "qualify" and start asking questions, the nice customer service turns into a rough ordeal. She assumed my rates would be the same, and it would cost them money to scan my license at the DMV; great. To be honest, if you have a potential customer that is interested in your company and even called to have a second thought in changing, why shun them away? That fee could provide you with a potential new customer whether it be a short or long term. Especially when that customer tells you that other companies quotes have dropped significantly. I had a vibe that the representative was so sure of their job that they refused to listen to my opinions or concerns. You know what I got out of that conversation? "You have a record, a history, even if I run your California license your rates will be the same, I don't believe your rates are that low from other quotes with other companies." You know what? Another company is saving me 402 dollars over your premium for six months. Thank you for doubting your customer, and I hope to never deal with your company again. My son was involved in a four car collision and in he middle -not a fault and geico informed us that there insured, may be "underinsured". And we would get a proportion amount of he claim. Incompetent jokers. As a promising new client, I offered my business to them on a silver platter and they blew it. I did an initial quote online for a car I was about to purchase. I also own another car, a home and I have an umbrella policy. Instead of inputting all that info in online, Geico emailed me and suggested I go into a local office so they can prepare quotes for everything. I called the local office and they said I could drop off all of my current insurance declaration pages to save everyone time and be as efficient as possible and they would beat the price. I had all the declaration pages, VIN # for new vehicle to add, copies of drivers licenses. Long story short, the newbie agent and his "manager/mentor" dressed in unprofessional faded t-shirt and jeans, attempted to lock me down and keep me there while they worked on the quotes. I gave them EVERYTHING needed to obtain an accurate quote (more so than most clients would), yet they wouldn't let me continue my day while they worked on them. Too, the associate came across very clueless when attempting to read simple insurance declaration pages even though he works in the insurance industry!!! To make things worse, the guy said he gets off 5 o'clock and might not have time to get to it even though I got there about 4:00 and had already called in and the receptionist said "come on in, we'll be able to get it done and most likely beat your current insurance's price"; even if he didn't have the time, there were no clients in the office and about 8 associates standing around gossiping and wasting time. As noted by the other reviews here, there is no doubt that these associates are very incompetent and clueless and love to turn away new clients. read more

Part 2 of my first review: He told me that they would not work on my car any further because I had not reported any damages. I told Marc Bowman that when I first reported the claim that I was not asked to report damages and that not one Geico representative had contacted me after they towed my car away. So I was not given the chance to report any damages or go over the damages that Marcos Palafox had found before the shop began working on it. Never being in this situation, I am of course telling everyone about the situation and have been told by numerous people that their insurance companies always call them to go into the shop to go over all damages with the insurance estimator. Obviously, this is Geico's sneaky way of doing the bare minimum and getting away with lies. I then told Marc Bowman that I was completed disappointed with Geico's customer service and that I would cancel my insurance with them. He said "ok". Five minutes later I called Geico. The woman was helpful and told me that I was being treated poorly and that I should file a complaint with Marc Bowman's supervisor and the Geico complaint department. She found out who Marc Bowman's supervisor was and gave me that information and transferred me to the complaint department. I left a message on the cell of Craig Hampton, Marc Bowman's supervisor, because he didn't answer. I also received a very rude voicemail from Marcos Palafox that day telling me that if I didn't pick up my car, they would charge me $25 per day. So I went after work to pick up my car. No one walked me out to inspect my car. They just swiped my credit card and gave me the key. On the way home I noticed that the front, inside of my door looked off. I compared it to the other side and the driver's side was horribly misaligned. I looked back at the rest of the door and the part where my seatbelt comes from was totally out of place and cracked. I immediately called my husband to tell him that we had to turn around. When we got back to the shop they were closed. So I went home, took pictures of the misaligned door and called marc Bowman, telling him that I was going back to the shop. One day later, Craig Hampton returned my call. Geico representatives seem to like to wait a day to call back. I told Craig the whole story, but stressed that it wasn't even the dent that I was most disappointed about. It was the rudeness and passive aggressiveness, and poor customer service that I received from Marcos Palafox and Marc Bowman. He didn't seem to care about that part at all. He of course wanted to defend the dent and told me that Geico would not pay for it. Seems like all three men were cared only about the money it would cost them. After three years of loyalty to this insurance company, they couldn't be there for me when I needed them. I also explained to him my new findings of the inside of the door and how I believed that the inside and undercarriage were not inspected at all. He told me that Marc Bowman had already informed him of the situation and that marc had inspected the inside and that there was a lie somewhere, but he could assure me it wasn't with his Geico representatives. So basically he was calling me a liar. He also told me that since the outside of my door wasn't damaged, then the misalignment of the inside of my door must be attributed to something else. I told him that I believe it to be common sense that when the front end of the car is smashed in, then it's more than likely to push other parts of the car inward, causing the misalignment of my inside door. He again told me I was wrong, but if I wanted to take it back to the shop they would be willing to fix the misalignment. Gee, thank you. Again, poor customer service from a third Geico representative. Had they had done a full and comprehensive inspection none of this would even be an issue. Or maybe if they had involved me like other insurance companies, I could have brought these issues to the table during the first week. My car is back in the shop, for a total of one month. Toyota could have probably built 10 brand new Yaris cars by hand by now. I have put in a request to cancel my Geico insurance at the end of my bill cycle, which bot Marc Bowman and Craig Hampton knew about, but didn't seem to care that they were losing a loyal customer of three years. I will continue to spread the word about Geico's horrendous customer service and how they didn't even fix all of the damages from my accident, which is what I thought I was paying them for throughout these three years. I am also missing my car sun shades, which they say I must have lost. Why would I take out my sun shades after the accident when I didn't even have a car??? Geico insurance representatives are liars, unfair, and very rude! Shame on Geico for the way they treated a loyal customer (who was never late in any payments at that)!!!! read more
