In December, 2010 they had helped us with Mom's service as well. At a very difficult time, Paul and staff were kind, caring and very professional. They took care of all the details from getting flowers taken to share with nursing facility after the service to putting together a lovely memory CD with pictures that played during the viewing. They periodically are sending us bereavement information which we appreciate. We are grateful for Paul and the staff at Jamison-Schmitz.

I was not part of the selection process so I can't really comment on that. As someone attending I thought the facilities were nice and functional for holding visitations with a private side room for immediate family members if needed. The funeral director was very helpful in making sure things that needed to be done were arranged and taken care of in the right order. As much as funerals are sad and often stressful times, they are necessary and a good funeral home and director can help alleviate that aspect. As I said above, I had no involvement in or knowledge of how Kendall Funeral Services is to work with. I am only rating what I experienced as an attendee.

Grandpa and Grandma were both in good hands there. The funeral home is family owned, and all the staff there were very caring. They are all very responsive to all of our needs, even after the services has ended. The funeral home facilities are modern and quite comfortable for family members, and easily accessible with everything being on one floor. I would have no reservations at all about recommending Leonard to others. The funeral home is the only one in the area that has a crematory on site, so for those of us who desire that option when our time comes having a funeral home that can take care of cremation on site and not having to send remains to a third party is a big plus.

We called Leonard and they were able to meet with us the right away, took care of everything as far as transporting, and walked us through everything at our own pace. They gave us all the time we needed while setting up all the arrangements. Nice space for the family to bring food, kids to hang out, and allow family a break when needed. Allowed us to bring what ever we wanted as far as pictures, keep sakes, fishing poles, had a tv to play a picture slide show. Allowed us to have our private time but was available if needed during the viewing. They gave us all the time we needed, was very respectful of our family member and of everyone grieving, communicated well, and took care of everything. Even offered to drop off the flowers after everything was done. Made us feel like family. I hope I don't have to use their services for a long time again, but will definitely work with them when the time comes.

The caskets are made of hardwood and fulfilled the desire to stay as close to nature as my mom had described back in the Caribbean. The website allowed me to see such a serene atmosphere where the monks create the caskets as their stewardship and as their trade. The caskets are blessed before being shipped out and a memorial tree is planted in that person's name! Aside from that beautiful thought, a removal wooden cross, inset into the cover can be removed, as a keepsake and other crosses are included and may be ordered to give to others. The top cover of the casket can be inscribed and a biblical verse added. Everyone remarked at the physical beauty of these caskets, but also at the very spiritual dimensions that made this inevitable episode that much more consoling and serene, I pre-ordered mine too.
