Dr. Tom Munroe is an amazing Denitst and so professional, I just had three root canals and crowns done and they look and feel brilliant, but more so he is such a nice person who gave me plenty of options and was detail in how he would solve my issues, and Laura who is his Dental assistant is amazing and so good and explains everything in detail. I would highly recommend Finglas Dental practice to anyone looking for a new Dentist or change of Dentist. More recently I have even been able to get a teeth whitening treatment which has worked out very well for me. What's more, his dental nurse is really lovely! Clean and clinical as any dentist surgery should be in this day and age, it comes at a price to the customer. €50 for a scrape and polish which used to be free when you paid PRSI is not a nice bill to be given at the end of a visit. Sadly with these prices no wonder Irish people have teeth like Jaws off of James Bond.

From the moment I walked in the door I felt cared for and in good hands. Helen the receptionist is extremely helpful and overall Just a lovely person. Any appointments arranged were simple and often Helen would call be back to fit me in at a time even more convenient. Dr.Cahill himself was very thorough and explained the whole process in an easy and stress free way. I felt he really took his time to give me the right treatment and felt listened to. The dental nurse (whos name I did not catch) was also very lovely constantly checking I was ok and providing outstanding care. He was rude & condescending towards me, bordering on contemptuous, when I couldn't bite down with my front teeth aligning with the bottom teeth (I have an overbite which made it impossible.) Also I didn't like that he kept touching my belly during the x-ray to get me to stand up straighter as I hadn't given him permission to touch me there and he didn't ask. I left feeling disrespected. I called the office afterwards to give feedback about it, and his receptionist said he was not available to receive it. My advice is, find a nicer dentist.

Instead of concentrating on the job at hand I'm trying to remember the words to that poem from my youth "oh I wish I'd looked after my teeth..." My entire head felt like a huge spot about to burst and the tip.... the white bit that does the nasty exploding bit was somewhere on the bottom left of my jaw.. women might tell you that childbirth is a painful thing but to them I say, pashaw! ...and also, ouch. So, a long overdue appointment was applied for on the smiles.ie website... I heard nothing from them after 2 hours (not being overly patient) I called and no, they hadn't received my application. I made an appointment over the phone for the next day. I suspected I had a long list of ailments so asked for them to do an exam and work up a plan (which I shall be taking to the VHI dental people!). Yup... the list was loooong, including 2 root canals, lots of fun ahead but having met the dentist and gone through the 1st exam and treatment I am happy that (wait for it.....) ...that I'll be smiling in the end crap... did I really go for the cheap pun at the end?, yes, yes I did. I am a chicken when it comes to dentists and doctors. I am really afraid, even an idea of doctors…read morein my had made me feel anxious. I KNOW, RIGHT?! I was taking the bus from the Waterloo Road and I saw Smiles Dental, I book an appointment for the check-up. I am trying to do check-ups every year. In Smiles Dental it was free with PPS number. The doctor said that I need to do 3 FILINGS. Ohh noooo! I made an appointment for my first one! It was the funny one :) I was waiting when I will feel pain but it was okay, and then I heard - 'It's done!' REALLY??? I couldn't believe, It was painless. Next time I will be less afraid doing my other 2 :) Just letting you know the next day I was laying down with the madest a headache and a toothache. The painkillers like 'Anadin' didn't help me, the stronger one was better.

I am deathly afraid of dentists but the staff here are so friendly and reassuring that you feel…read more(almost!) at ease. The surgery is in an old Victorian building looking right out onto the seafront in Bray so there are amazing views from the chair to distract you. Dr. Smith recently won an award for being Ireland's most sensitive dentist and it was definitely well-deserved. She's friendly, easy-going and sympathetic to nerves. I'd say it would be a great surgery to bring children to. What I found most helpful was that she explains everything that she is going to do and what the different tools are so that there are no unpleasant surprises or unexpected torture instruments appearing in front of your face. There is also the option of sedation available if you really can't stick it.
