I scheduled an appointment, which did not have to be same day, but they mentioned there was openings as early as 11am today (06/08/26). I ended up waiting over 70 minutes to be seen by the doctor. A 30 minute wait I would understand, but an hour and 10 minutes is crazy. Especially on a weekday that I need to be at my job. When the physician, Dr. Catherine McDoniel, entered the room, she acknowledged I was at the window looking out. I politely mentioned I was checking out the views because I've been waiting for a little bit. Instead of acknowledging the concern, she responded in a way that I felt was dismissive and confrontational, asking, "What did you expect? You booked the appointment same day?" and suggested I go to urgent care instead. I remained respectful and simply explained that I had expected to be seen closer to my scheduled appointment time. The interaction continued to feel defensive, and I ultimately left crying without receiving care. I asked the front desk to refund my copay, which they were able to take care of and apologized for what happened. After I left the building, the front desk called me again apologizing for what had happened. The front desk staff were kind and professional, but the physician interaction was upsetting and left me feeling unheard and disrespected. And I left without the medical attention I needed. I believe the multiple apologies I've received over this incident is important to note as it confirms this encounter was problematic. I do not recommend Dr Catherine McDoniel.

There are so many doctors out there doing the "Ah ha. ah ha ...". They aren't listening to our needs. I had been going through hell for years. I was at my primary care physician's office and, again, going through all of these ailments. She told me about this Dr who had recently opened his office in Joliet. She went and made a call and that doctor would see me as soon as I got there (WHAT?!?!!!!). That was Dr.Cheema's office. When I arrived to his office, his staff was so kind and truly cared for my well-being. I saw Dr Cheema within a couple minutes after completing the necessary forms. Dr Cheema LISTENED and we developed a plan together to treat each issue as we could. I felt as though I was his only patient (which I definitely was not!!!). I was on my was to feeling better, whether it was with medication, acupuncture, injections and more. If you are experiencing ANY kind of pain: Headaches, knee pain, back pain, cervical (neck) pain, lower back (lumbar) pain, numbness, whatever it may be, please do yourself a favor, and please stop suffering through pain, even being uncomfortable, and call Dr. Cheema's office and get the treatment that is perfect for YOU. Everyone is different and everyone needs to be treated differently. My chronic pain is, most likely, completely different than yours. Do one thing for yourself, make an appointment And see Dr Cheema. I would strongly advise anyone who reads this post to stay away from this man and his practice. His…read morenegligence and unprofessional behavior almost cost my mom her life. This happened about 3 weeks ago. My mom (74) went in for a routine colonoscopy. During the procedure, some polyps needed to be removed. When she got home she noticed that there was significant bleeding. She called his office and they told her "bleeding is normal". When the bleeding worsened, the office was not able to be reached. The bleeding was bad that she had to call an ambulance and go to the emergency room. It was discovered that during her routine colonoscopy, he somehow managed to clip an artery which caused internal bleeding so severe she needed a blood transfusion of 2 units and emergency surgery. She ended up spending 2 days in the ICU. There was no follow up call for over a week from him or his office. They eventually called to tell her the biopsy results. If you value your health and safety, I advise you stay away from this man and his practice and tell others to do the same. He's careless, irresponsible, and dangerous.

7/5/2024 This is not…read morea review by a disgruntled patient, but about an irate doctor. After today's visit, I would advise seeking "care" elsewhere. I certainly will be. Dr S. Vemareddy practically had a meltdown, when asked to issue a return to work letter and complete a FMLA form for me. Instead, I was told "the life you're living isn't a life worth living." She further went on to state, "I'm not the doctor you need. You're in need of a psychiatrist. I will give you a referral." I was then repeatedly yelled at in exam Rm 1, and again in the waiting area. I advised her that I would no longer be requiring her so-called professional services. And that I wanted my 5 prescriptions not to be refilled by her. Instead of my $20 co-pay, I ended up paying $115.01. The temp assistant refused to resubmit the bill. I was then yelled at for allegedly throwing my credit card at her. Despite she intentionally dropped it, after having placed it in her hand. Despite my using the desk to literally hold me up. Despite having 5 badly, arthritic lumbar discs in my back. I was made to reach over the desk, retrieve the credit card, and hand it to her again. After third time of being yelled at, I advised her that I would be filing an official complaint with the medical board. She merely replied, "okay". In this instance, I will do what the doctor advises. I'd rather go without my lifesaving medications, then to seek her form of "care" of this individual ever again. This is the very reason why people do not go to the doctor's office. How this individual is even allowed to practice is disconcerting in itself. Update - 7/14/2024 Despite informing this individual she was fired as my physician, I received a certified letter from her today. In it, she stated that due to my violation of some office policy, she has determined to no longer being my physician. Nowhere in this single paragraph letter, did it state what alleged office policy I violated. Initially, I thought it was a letter of apology from her. I found this to be funnier, then Jill Biden, I mean Joe, deciding to run for office again.
