Once again, thanks to Flippie for helping me discover this place.
Amsterdam Fashion Week held many of their fashion shows here and I was lucky enough to get a ticket to Dennis Diem's show and also a backstage tour. How awesome is that?
I arrived a bit early as it was snowing quite a bit and managed to make my way into the info area and got a pass to go backstage. Never mind that I didn't find my Yelp friends until much later, but I did manage to give myself a tour of the back lol. It isn't true, they do feed the models. LOL. I was able to sit in their lounge area for a bit and have a latte and just watch the beautiful models come and go.
This venue is very cool. It used to be an old coal factory, but now a venue spot. The gas produced here was used for street lighting, but as that became obsolete, the factory closed in 1967. But so brilliant that the Dutch turned this into a place for events and festivals.
I had a great time here, and seeing the snow fall on the park and then later seeing a wonderful fashion show made my stay in Amsterdam all that much sweeter, all thanks to the Amsterdam Yelp community! read more
