In front potato pancakes with mushroom gravy. Directly across is the Cordon Bleu. Wiener Schnitzel to the left and right!

Authentic Austrian food prepared with care! I had the potato pancakes with mushrooms and it was delicious! Friend had Cordon Blue, I had a bite and it was very, very good! I felt like a locale having a late lunch and watching older gentleman play cards and drinking beer. Our waitress only spoke German, but she was patient and we figured it all out! She was just lovely!!

Regular snitzel with boiled buttery potatoes, and cranberry sauce..super good

Found this place on yelp..had a lot of good reviews with pictures. I wanted a snitzel so this was the place. Its on a corner with a big " no dogs allowed" sign on the door..ha ha, good for them. The waiter spoke perfect english and super nice. I had the snitzel, and my wife had the cheese snitzel. Super, super good. The place was big but pretty quiet inside. I had a beer with lemonade mix..also good. And for desert, apple strudel. Big meal with desert and drinks, the tab came out to 52 euros..cheap by u.s. standards. Ill always eat here for dinner if im in town again. Thanks Gasthaus Anich

Pilsner von fam (on tap), dunkel in bottle....very good!

We decided to try Gasthaus Anich even though it was a short walk out of the old town and the tourist shopping area. The building looked more like an old bank than a restaurant so we weren't sure as we approached it. Once inside we were pleasantly greeted and shown to a table even though we did not have reservations. The interior was a bit Austrian, but a 1990's vibe mixed in...not overly Bavarian or Tyrolian character. Menu features classic German / Austrian dishes. Although it sounds more French than Austrian, I really enjoyed my hearty serving of chicken cordon bleu, which is chicken schnitzel with ham and cheese stuffed inside. It was served with boiled potatoes in a light butter and herb sauce which I really enjoyed. The clientele seemed to be a mix of locals and tourists, and all were well treated as if they were regulars. I recommend Gasthaus Anich!

    Blood sausage and sauerkraut

The pancake soup sounds kind of strange but wow was it amazing!! I ordered the blood sausage entree and it was... different. I thought it was going to come out as a sausage but it was presented as more like a corned beef hash. It was interestingly tasty but I wouldn't order it again. The sauerkraut was good! Food came out fairly fast. Waiter was nice but he could have been more welcoming.

A nice place if you are craving Austrian food and are really hungry! You will not be disappointed:)

    Adult Sized Schnitzel

The overall vibe of the restaurant was comfy. I really enjoyed the schnitzel and have heard great things about their potato salad. The only flaw this restaurant has is the positioning of the restroom, which is quite difficult to get to. Overall great vibes and great food! Would Recommend !

5 stars here as others have mentioned. I'm a fan of the Tirol and this is close as you'll get without driving down to one of the skiing areas. Typical Austrian fare, cheap prices, great quality food. I went with the goulash soup and Tyrol gröstl and could barely finish a third of it. Was just that much and I love this food. Yes, it was super heavy. But splurge. You'll sleep better for it. Enjoy the people watching here and the super-size portions.

    Roast pork!

Really good food. I walked in on a beautiful day. I wanted some ribs but they were out so I opted for the roast pork. It was delicious. Love this place and will definitely be coming back.

A typical local Gasthaus with decent food. (And there is no price for admission, as someone mentioned here ;-). We go there regularly.

Id say this place attracts the locals. Away from the main tourist area. The food was really good. I'd definitely come back.

I had the tomato salad starter - the tomatoes were so sweet and the dressing was mind blowing! I counted about 45 guests that they had to turn away due to lack of a reservation. Good for them to desire to maintain excellent service for those who intentionally make this restaurant a destination. The pan fried gnocchi was excellent, blending innovation with vibrant sauces and beautiful presentation. Very balanced flavors that blended on the plate and did not interfere with other flavors. The pork neck tasted tender with a crispy exterior to create a satisfying mouth feel. Well paired with roasted and seasoned potato. The ginger mousse was unique. It is a savory finish that may not appeal to some. I expected a stronger ginger flavor. I definitely want to return

I, on the other hand (unclear why) ordered a generous portion of their Caesar's salad, which turned out to taste great, but I decided to add the smoke chicken breast on it, which was not the best decision. So I'd recommend just ordering the salad without the add-ons because it's delicious just the way it is. In addition, for those of you who appreciate wine come by this place, try the gelber Muskateller. Delicious.

I dined here twice (both dinners). I got the steak as my entree both times. Their menu is limited, but they do it pretty well. The first night I had the tuna appetizer and the second night I had a salad. They were both good, but again, nothing to write home about. I think this is one of the best restaurants in Innsbruck (from what I've heard) and it definitely gets the job done. I would eat here again over any of the other restaurants I tried in town (except Wirsthaus Schoneck but that is a special occasion meal for sure).

It's on a narrow side street with a few tables outside. Inside the dining room has well spaced tables, and is artistically decorated, stylish and interesting. We both had the day's special which was sea bass on risotto. Perfectly cooked fish, well presented, the skin so crispy ate it all even though I usually don't like to eat fish skin. A bit pricy (entree at 32 euros) compared to some of the other places but it feels quite upscale.

I loved the food here and the service was also excellent. They have a 5 or 6 course degustation menu for both vegetarian and non vegetarians. They also have an a la carte menu with modern Austrian dishes as well as a few traditional Austrian dishes like schnitzel and so on. The a la carte menu also has quite a few choices for vegetarians. They will allow you to also select a dish or two from the degustation menu and let you order it as starter or main. The wine list is extensive and they have a good selection of Austrian and International wines. The waitress we had was very helpful and spoke good English. She also modified the menu slightly to fit a couple of people's requirement. We started with a smoked saibling with lentil and plums as well as a venison carpaccio to share. Both dishes were exquisite, subtle and packed with clean flavors. I absolutely loved my starters. For main I choose the beef cheeks which came on a bed of polenta and veggies. The beef cheeks were cooked to perfection and I loved it too. For dessert we shared a chocolate cake, chocolate mousse and a semolina schmarrn. The chocolate mousse was disappointing and the rest was great. The wine we had was amazing and the coffee was also quite ok. This place is more expensive and the wines are priced on the more expensive side but, not over the top. I would happily pay to eat here again. The flavors are amazing and the ambience and service is excellent. I look forward to my next visit. All four of us enjoyed our meals immensely and would come back here again anytime. A great restaurant in Innsbruck :-))

Mildly jet lagged from a 10 hour flight & 2 hour drive, we found a place we could walk to, as we needed to stretch our legs. This place was hard to find, simply because Google maps was slightly off on how to get there, and the Yelp page had it listed as a hotel. In general, the online review world is much more limited in the Innsbruck area, so let's see if I can help that. Menu here: https://www.gasthaus-bretterkeller.at/speisekarte/ We stumbled into a smoky bar full of a few groups/family's having meals and the general feeling was overwhelmingly positive and happy. With our extremely limited German, and the waitresses limited English, we were able to navigate the menu and get a recommendation easy enough, and got our meal & drinks ordered. New to us, we asked about a bowl of breads/pretzels and were told we could pick and pay for what we wanted. Our meal was fantastic. Not light or the most healthy, but delicious nonetheless. Zwiebelrostbraten mit roestkartoffeln (Steak with Crispy Onions with roasted potatoes): The Steak with crispy onions & potato is apparently a pretty traditional dish, it was indeed a hearty and filling meal, the flavor was definitely great, the meat wasn't the leanest cut possible, but that's fine, to be expected. Steirischer Backhendlsalat mit Kernol (Fried chicken salad): The salad was very good too, fried chicken pieces over a green salad (over a potato salad). Once again, not light, but all tasted great. Not a huge place, but definitely felt like it could have been there for 100 years. The patio had a great view over the valley to the north, but it was a cooler evening so not many patrons out there. Only warning I give, as a visitor from another country, smoking indoors is still very common in Austria, so be prepared to walk into a smoky bar/restaurant/shop, otherwise we absolutely loved our meal here! Had we not wanted to try more places, we would definitely return again!
