A surprisingly nice family restaurant on the Czech-Austrian border, in the small St.Stefan am Walde village, very close to the Lipno Lake.
Especially nice during summer, when you could sit on a big "terrasse" and admire spectacular views to the Bohmwald valley.
The menu is suitable for a family lunch or dinner, and it seems to be quite popular by the locals: Frittatensuppe, Leberknoedelsuppe, Knoblauchrahnsuppe ... Wiener Schnitzel ...
We have ordered a very good Wiener Schnitzel for 8,50 Euro, which was accompanied by potatoes, rice, and salad, ... as well as a Schlemmerpfandl, a delicious pork stew with vegetables and spaetzle, served on a nice black pan at 12,90 Euro.
And for drink, we enjoyed a 0,5l Kaiser Marzen Beer (3 Euro) and 1/8l Gruener Veltliner Reinhard Waldschutz Esarn Kamptal white wine from Austria (4,40 Euro).
Their Wine List is nicely done, with 3 + 3 Austrian wines by glass/bottles, all from good Austrian wine regions.
Wish such a standard could be typical on the other side of the borders, at Lipno Lake.
