      We picked this place largely at random -- a waypoint on our drive on the Alpine Highway between…read moreSalzburg and Innsbruck. We sat on the porch on a nice day and had a nice lunch. The menu was largely German food, and mostly heavy -- not a light of light choices like sandwiches or the like. Service was good and the server did the best he could with very limited English. They did take credit cards, including American Express, and had a menu in English. Parking was free and easy -- just across the road from the restaurant. Be careful crossing the road as traffic flies through there. The rest of Wallgau was kind of a dud -- not much shopping or things to see for a drive-through tourist. It seems like the area had a lot of bikers, so that might be one attraction of the area.

Our first night here we come for dinner on a rainy night after driving about 5 hours. We are tired and hungry and this place truly lifted our spirits. There was local music being played and the service was so warm and friendly. I had my first German beer and it was the best beer I ever had. The food was excellent. We came back for lunch 2 days later and had an even better meal at lunch time. Again, service was excellent. If I lived locally, this would be my go-to place.

A small family was hard at work…read moreserving us a delightful 3 course meal: a bright fresh salad, perfectly moist and flavorful meatloaf with papas and sautéed green beans, only to finish with the perfectly ripe strawberries under a scoop of strawberry vanilla gelato. They were quick on their feet and incredibly appreciative of our eating there. A++, thank you for a wonderful meal!

      We found this "gasthaus" on the way home from holiday. We needed to stop to take a rest. It was…read moregood luck to come 10 minutes before 10 pm because ten minutes later we wouldn't found anybody:) The price for one person and night is 35 euro. Have to say it is lillte bit more than we expected (it seems to be small village in the middle of nothing) but it is still ok. WARNING: THEY DO NO ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS ( but there is a bank with ATM nearby). The room was clean, quiet, with private barhroom, minibar, tv and wifi connection and the price includes breakfast. The breakfast is served untill 10 am. Do not expect something special like bayerishe "würst", just usual breakfast - ham, cheese, jam, some fruit, juice, cofee. Maybe this part of German has something to offer, but we just needed to take a rest, so I can not evaluate it more. Give them just three stars for the price and breakfast which could be at least with eggs (maybe we came to late;) Check out is at 11 am.
