So we tried to go to the other indoor playground, but they were closed. We were loitering in the parking lot and I asked a mom if there was any other place we could go. She suggested the Community Center and she took off super quick; I think she suspicioned that I was hitting on her. Anyway, we came here to find a friendly statue of Abraham Lincoln on a welcoming bench. Then we went inside to find friendly customer service at the front desk. It seems they have a lot of other facilities in the building, but we were there just for the toddlers playroom. It's for kids up to 5 years old. They welcomed us for our one-year-old and also let in our 6-year-old as long as she respected the other kids and the toys. It's a small fee for all-day use, with come-and-go privileges. They have a bunch of different kinds of toys that are best suited for kids 5 years or less. They have cooking sets, baby sets, toy cars and ride-in cars, balls, play mats, a couple small play structures, and small book shelf. There is a diaper changing table with wipes, bags for dirty diapers, and trash cans. One room has a tiled floor where people can eat snacks. The other, connected room is carpeted with no food allowed. Extra wipes are there for parents to clean toys after use. It seemed like the other clientele were regulars. They were nice enough and outgoing at times. I highly recommend this place on rainy days for locals and visitors alike. I'm sure there are bathrooms, but we didn't check them out. He was A LOT and seemed very much wanting to be a bit in your face. I was trying to be nice and that did not seem to have an effect on his snatchy nature. Me and the other two I was talking to were just chatting and he kept coming back and looking around as if we might be shooting heroin together. It was way weird because the office is small and you can see the whole room from his desk. But it is like the DMV though I guess you can make an appointment. I do not know if that is helpful - one of the people waiting said he had done that and it was not helpful. The person working there was a sweetheart and even gave me a heads up about the person working on my stuff so that was appreciated. It has been a long time since I had to have them do something. Again, like the DMV, once you get a person they are usually quite lovely and just doing their jobs but appreciate a smiling friendly face so try not to take your wait time out on them since they are overworked just like the rest of us.

They are also taking requests from the public for new books. They are an independent library, therefore they are not funded by the county or state. They are completely volunteer staffed and volunteers are friendly and ready to help! All together a wonderful library.

They have PO boxes. they sell limited boxes to send items in. The staff is OK, not exactly outgoing, but do take care of your needs. Bring proper identification and prior to driving to redeem it make sure you sign the back of the ticket as soon as you realize you have won. The few times I've been there I've noticed winners throw away a carbon copy of their claim notice into the lobby trash can. The form has your name address date of birth and social security number on it. I mentioned what I saw to an employee and showed him the 20 customer completed forms in the open trash can. This would make for an easy id theft. The employee politely told me he was aware of it and locking trash cans have been discussed but it didn't sound like it's a high priority above his level. It's the oldest structure on the Mall, and looks great for its age. The experience did not disappoint! After going through security, I approached the beautiful staircase. Hanging glass sculptures of feathers went up each side, leading to glass wings on the third landing. I peeked into the law library and that's when the education began. Emily, the Lawyer/Librarian who gave me a most excellent behind the scenes tour, made it quite memorable. From the architecture to an intricately carved donated wooden chest, to the women and men making a difference in Oregon's politics, I learned so much. Seeing the handwritten notes inside the Courtroom drawers was a highlight. This visit absolutely made up for missing the tower tour at the Capital Building. I can go back when construction is finished.

There was no 1 else inside the post office at this time so they were not busy. after asking her twice to mail a package return receipt insured she argued with me and told me there was no way I could send this package and get a return receipt and was quite unprofessional about it. After asking her the third time to do what I had asked originally she finely mailed the package the way I had asked. The other woman that was standing there with blonde hair was also quite rude when I asked to help me find a box that would accommodate my package she told me I have no idea look for yourself. This type of customer service is unacceptable in our government offices in especially during the holidays. As I said earlier there was not 1 single person in line or inside the store at that time there simply no excuse for this behavior I will never use the aurora post office again.
