I had walked by this shop so many times and ironically, on my first trip to Amsterdam I stayed two doors down from it and never noticed it. I mentioned this to the owner and he said, which I agree, that part of the charm of Amsterdam is there are so many things here that you are constantly stumbling upon amazing shops and more every time you walk down the street. He couldn't be more right. The shop itself is so unique. I knew immediately that I would love it here. The items were cool and not like anything else I'd find while shopping. It's definitely not a tourist shop; it's not a t-shirt or postcard sort of place, but it features really cool home decor items from suspended butterflies to really cool metal displays. I knew immediately I'd find so many things I'd love and couldn't bring back to the states with me because I'd have no room and I was right, but I did find some cool metal keys to bring with me to decorate in my living room. I asked the owner if they had a story to them and he replied, "everything has a story" and that was good enough for me.

Exquisite pieces of decor, for sure! They have very "weird" pieces too, and simpler ones. For those who call themselves collectors, you might find something here for you. The owner was nice and helpful, and so far to me this store has the best layout of all the vintage stores I've reviewed in Amsterdam. She had this great old air conditioner, and other antique furniture to help display the clothing. Most of the clothing looks to be from the 50's-70's, lots of lace, leather, fur, cute jumpsuits, vintage swimsuits, dresses, and other great color contrasting clothes, accessories, boots and shoes, hats, purses, a few blankets and glasses frames. She offers quality over quantity. There is a good amount of items to look through, but you don't feel overwhelmed shopping here. Price wise, just to give you an idea, the boots I tried on were 19€ and a really nice top I tried with lace details was 35€. Customer service goes a long way, and I think that added to the good feeling I had while shopping here.

I was in Haarlem checking out a potential rental and on the way back to the bus stop, spotted this…read moreplace and something just totally compelled me to go in and I'm so super glad I did! Once walked in, realized it was a second-hand shop and there were tons of shoppers in there. Everything was very neatly labeled and grouped together accordingly and everything also had a price-sticker which was totally great! There was also a small selection of English language books (mostly thrillers and chick-lit) and an enormous toy selection as well as tons of tableware and home decorative knick-knacks. Plus also really great selection of table lamps. I ended up purchasing one lamp myself and it was only €5! Hurrah - it was my first house purchase in the Netherlands! (I tried walking away at first, but the design was just too appealing!) The staff were super kind too. Since this was a somewhat impulse buy, I didn't have a bag, and so the lovely lady at the counter gave me a cloth bag, gratis, which was really cool of her. There are many of course, so this quest will not end soon. Last week I went to Vind-It Vintage. It's a cute little vintage store. They sell some nice items in here for very decent prizes, so when you are in the neighborhood this place is definitely worth a look. The shop is not big but, like with so many vintage shops, the place is filled with so much stuff. You can definitely spend some time hunting for treasures in this place.

What I also like about this place are the spacious and nicely decorated fitting rooms. I also like that they have a café! With quite a lot of seats. Found a unique one that is brown leather with a gorgeous buckle with tasteful rhinestones. I love it! I thought I was liking for a black belt, but when I saw it and tried it on, I suddenly could imagine the outfits with brown instead. 15 euros. I might've been able to find a less expensive one somewhere but perhaps not one I liked so much, so thank you!
