As much as we stop here for gas, drinks, snacks, lotto tickets, etc., etc., etc., well, it's about time I finally wrote a review for the place. Even though I have a high number of check-ins here, it still doesn't even begin to reflect how much I actually stop at this store because half the time I forget to check-in because the stop is so quick. Gas is as cheap as it's going to get in this area of town. There are plenty of pumps and enough space between the pumps that you're night right on top of another car. I've never had a problem with any of the pumps working properly. The store is always clean, as are the restrooms. Tons of snacks can be found here in this large store and everything is always well-stocked. The cashiers are nice and friendly. Buy one of their 64oz plastic "jugs" (it's either 5 or 6 bucks and comes with a fountain drink) and then you can come in whenever you like and fill it up for a buck. You don't even have to have one of the Gate "jugs" ... you can have one for Hess, 7-11, etc... they'll still let you fill it up for a buck. They have an air pump and it's free. I don't have any issues with this GATE gas station. I've stopped in for beer a few times but mostly I come here for the gas. They could clean up the pump area a bit better but not a bad place to stop for some gas. read more

Not sure how everything else is but I stopped by to get my tires filled both machines were broken and looked like they had broken for a while so avoid this place if you need air in your tires. ‍ read more

This is a typical gas station, but it's a lot better than some of the others around town. It's located right off of I-295 so it's super convenient...just hop off get what you need and hop back on... The store is kept clean and orderly.... There's a good selection of snacks here, as well as, other necessary items. The staff is friendly and helpful...This is a good station to stop at as you're passing by. read more

Manager was yelling at another employee. Very unprofessional. Manager told employee if she doesn't want to work there she will find someone who will. Customers like me could hear and this was offensive. I gave a (3) instead of (5) because of poor management. After the manager realized I was watching the adjourned behind the employees only door. read more

I stopped in today for some gas and a famous Gate hotdog. Now thistle has really changed over the years. When I first started building gate store in 1988 thistle was a Starvin Marvin store with a couple 3 gas pumps. They even had an ATM when they came out built into the wall facing the front of the store. Then we torn it down and built this new store. Much bigger and a lot better. The old store was really in bad shape. Now this store has maybe 20 pumps and much larger and a lot more modern interior. They were of the first to have the new style cash wrap and rolling cigarette displays. Now they just got the latest new hotdog roller grills. I used to eat a Gate hotdog almost everyday since I was in a store allay everyday. I really don't know how they make them so good. maybe if I get a roller grill I can make them as good as Gate. read more

I went to this gas station today and purchased a 12 pack of coke, a fountain drink, and 3 scratch offs. I got back into my car and started scratching my scratch offs and as I was scratching the last one, I hear a knock on my window. I rolled my window down and there was a lady asking me if I had stole her wallet out of the bathroom. I said I had not been in the restroom and she says that the cashier, Lakiya, told her that I was the last one in the restroom. I had not used their restrooms. I told the lady that the cashier must have me confused with someone else. Thinking that this may be some sort of scam to get me out of my car and inside, that way they can steal from me, I gathered my phone, purse, and keys and went inside with the lady to talk to the cashier. I asked the cashier if she told the lady that I was the last one in the restroom? She says yes. I told her i hadn't been in the restroom, the cashier said "I saw you over dere, and knocked on the door and nobody answered". I told her I was next to the restrooms grabbing my 12 pack of soda and she shook her head and poked her lips out incenuating that I was lying. The lady proceeded to take my picture, take a picture of my car, and my license plate and called the cops. All of this was done because Lakiya doubled down and said I was the one who was last in the restroom. This gas station has cameras and nobody offered to watch the film, and if they had they would have seen that I had not been in the restroom. I feared for my safety because this lady was extremely upset about her wallet being stolen and Lakiya blamed me and told her that I had been in there. I always stop here when I am in Jacksonville visiting my grandmother and I will never return read more
