Always appreciate a well lit, clean gas station. Plenty of parking, easy to get in and out of here. Hubby likes the food and pastries they sell. I can't say I'm terribly impressed with this particular Gate. There are plenty of pumps and it's a larger store, so those are good things. The restrooms are also clean. But the floors were sticky throughout the entire store. The coffee area was a huge mess. It was later at night, they were not busy at all, there were plenty of employees (none who were friendly), so I just couldn't understand why the store was such a mess. When I'm in the area, I'll continue to stop here for gas or to pick up a soda, etc. But it's certainly not up to Gate standards, especially since they pride themselves on being "The Publix of Gas Stations." read more

October 23rd, 2021 around 10:00pm I walked in and simply asked if they accepted debit for lottery, they said no and explained who did. Thought nothing of it, told them I asked because one gate gas station accepted it before, not a problem! Then a female working registers as I'm walking to the ATM walks over purposely to her coworker just to tell them no gate gas stations take card acting like I'm supposed to know this universal policy of theirs.... I asked her "did you just talk to him about the debit for scratch offs?" She replied yes stating it's "literally in our training not to accept it" meanwhile my card is already in the ATM since it wasn't an issue to me.... Based on principle I canceled my ATM transaction due to her extremely inappropriate and unprofessional behavior... I brushed it off like nothing was wrong! She wanted to snicker and gossip making customers look like an idiot? Not someone I'd want on my staff. I'll be sure to spread the word of this issue with the folks I work with as well, just as she did. It's a gas station, and one of the few ones in the Tinseltown area. Sure there are a couple others on down the street on Southside Blvd., but this one has a large lot, lots of pumps and a decent selection of food stuffs inside. It also can get extremely busy during rush hour traffic times, so be warned. There are times you may have to wait for a pump. read more

This and all of the Gate Gas Stations are always "Top Notch" in my book. They are very safe and clean. They have good hot food, when you are on the run. I know the Owner of Gate Stores. He's a pretty nice guy. It's a tight operation. When I do, "Ride-a-longs" with JSO, they always stop here for a bathroom break or for a cold drink, in return makes it a safer place to be with the Police presence. read more

I came in today at 7:23, purchased gas and a couple other things and the cashier in the front was being EXTREMELY jittery, talking SO fast and basically threw my change back at me, I tried not to really think anything of it and went outside and pumped my gas, I needed a cup to split some water between my boyfriend and may I remind you the cup was completely empty, I was walking out of the store with it upside down and she was extremely rude about telling me their cups were 27 cents :) so I kindly turned around and placed it on the counter and walked out, when I know she had to throw the cup out due to COVID right after I just made a large purchase at the station I was just dissatisfied with the way she handled it over a whole 27 cents, I won't be returning any time soon due to this employee, I hope in the future if I need to stop in again the employees will have better manners and not throw my change at me read more

Short review today, but here it goes: 1. Super convenient Southside location. 2. Plenty of pumps! 3. The inside is large, has plenty of room. 4. Typical Gate variety of items, for anything you need in a flash. 5. Always seems to be pretty clean, and not one of those places you pull up to, then drive away because it looks scary, or has one of those horrible outside restroom setups. 6. Be forewarned! Always construction going on here and always for months on end. This got to be one of the worse gas stations. Always prices way more than any other gas station. They definitely price gauge everything when it's a hurricane or bad weather. Workers are generally nice but always understaffed for such a busy location. I frequently come to get my jeeps gas at this Gate station bc it is so convenient for me as it's less then half a mile from my home, plus they have a prepaid gate gas card that you can buy and reload that will save you money on your gas at all Gate stations, instead of just paying with your credit card or cash, sure it may seem like more of a hassle to buy a money saving gas card, but it's worth it when you start to see how much your saving. I also like the fact that this gas station is so close to a lot of restaurants and shopping areas, someone was thinking on their toes when they picked this location for a gas station! Another added bonus is the amount of pumps that they have at this gas station, I go here a lot and have never had to wait for a pump to open up, or for that matter a parking space if I need to go in and get something from their convenience store, I would have given them five stars but I'm one of those people who loves the new coca-cola freestyle soda fountains that offer over more then 100 different beverage options and while I've seen them at there competitors gas stations, they are still using the "ancient" soda fountains that say they have flavors you can add in, yet every time I go the flavor buttons don't work. If they can update the soda machines I will gladly update my review and give them their 5 stars, until then I have to stay with four. read more

I get my lottery tickets here every week. The location is clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. They have great 2 for pricing on soft drinks weekly. It is located close to my office and I can get in and out quickly. There are lots of gas pumps so no waiting to fill up. read more

Why review a gas station? Gate is consistently clean, has friendly staff, and the price of the fuel and goods is in line. This location is convenient to Southside Blvd and Touchton Rd. This is the first ever Star Gate built. It was a fun store with it's suspended micro-lite system. I really enjoyed building this model. Very big open with a lot of space for everything. This store is pretty well maintained also. After all it's a gas station with a lot of other goodies too. read more

Friendly staff. Always higher gas prices than anyone else in the area. Beer prices are on par. Obviously busy times are not as obvious to whoever manages it. After work lines are, frequently, very long and strung thru the store. read more

I have been to this store many times and have always found the staff to be very pleasant. However, yesterday's experience way truly exceptional service. When I went to cash out my 3 year old was playing peekaboo with the cashier and he was entertaining him back ( some find toddlers to be annoying lol). As i was wrapping up my purchase my son discovered the donut packs at the register. He kept begging for donuts and I kept declining his request. The cashier said "come on mom they are 2 for $1." Not that I wouldn't let my son have donuts ,but I told the man behind the register that he just had his birthday the day before and had enough junk for one day. The man said to hand him 2 packs of donuts, "it's his birthday mom let me buy them." He took out a dollar from his own pocket and handed my son the donuts. My sons eyes lit up and said thank you with a grin from ear to ear. This was such a nice gesture i couldn't help but melt. I left and was sad I never got the mans name. You don't find random acts of kindness much these days let alone friendly customer service. It wasn't that I didn't have the dollar, but this man made my day. It would help if the sales clerk wasnt rude while checking out things. I always come to this gas station but this one specific time, i was checking my phone for a text when she yelled at me about my receipt and then dramatized the situation by saying she had asked four times, which she didnt. Then she had the nerve to go "mhm uh huh okay bye bye" . As someone who works in customer service, she did more then need be off of someone answering a text message on their phone. Her name was selena and you would think that her old age wouldve made her nicer and wiser. If you dont like your job, do the customer a favor and dont urilize them as a punching bag. read more
