The staff from the JAA have been amazing. They are patient and kind and really knowledgeable. They really listen to us and my MIL's needs and really take care of her. I can't recommend them enough.

It is not a lockdown facility like some places like Highland Park that reminds me of a jail. Evrryone at Manorcare works hard. We recently had 2 nice cookouts (one with ribs). We go to Walmart regularly and sometimes have musical performances of all types. We have also made jewelry, we have a garden club and more. The nursing staff is nice and thorough. The wound nurses are great! I have been in this facility twice. I have had a diabetic foot wound for 10 years and this time it healed! Thank you to my dr., Dr. Jessica Sciulli and the woundcare nurses at Manorcare. It would not have happened without them. The rehab team is great. I had not been walking for awhile and it was hard for me. They helped me by putting electronic stimulation on my legs to increase my muscle strength and it worked really well. I am walking again now. I had broke my ankle also and was in a cast for a long time (several months) I am so grateful to Manorcare for all the wonderful care they have given me. I honestly feel that if I had been at another facility I would not be doing so well. What else can I say about Manorcare? The food is good. It is better than what is served at most facilities. They really make an effort to do well in the kitchen. The only area where they could be doing a little better is that they are a little understaffed. This puts alot of strain on the aides and nursing staff. I know how hard it can be to keep everyone in the herd happy but they make great effort. The only other comment I might make is that Manorcare takes on some difficult patients and it doesn't make their jobs easy. Sometimes there are problems but they work through them. All in all, Manorcare is a good place to be, definitely better than most nursing homes. I am happy to be here. I would definitely come back again and my family is happy I am at this facility. My family feels this is a very nice place.

Don't trust your loved ones with this organization. We hired them to watch our mom a few days a…read moreweek. They were fine for a few months and then all of a sudden, they would call us half an hour to 15 minutes before a shift was to start to tell us they didn't have anyone available to watch our mom. The last straw was when they left my mom home alone for an hour before calling to say they didn't have someone available for that day. You hired an agency because you want the peace of mind knowing someone will be watching over your family member. You are looking for reliability. This organization doesn't offer it. Highly unprofessional. Steer clear.

We could not be more pleased with the care, service and attention he receives in his home with each of his aides. Those aides are a part of our family and our father really looks forward to being with them each day. I would recommend them highly. Without them our dad would be unhappy and his quality of life would not be as great as we have seen these past few years. They are the best!
