The photos attached are the most dramatic areas of improvement, but even in the kitchen counters and cabinets that looked decently clean to me before, are now absolutely spotless and look brand new! The pricing was very fair for the exceptional quality of service provided. The cleaning turned out to be more work than expected (I likely hadn't fully conveyed the condition of some harder-to-reach areas in the "before" pictures). But the owner, Patricia, promptly texted me to let me know it would take longer and therefore cost closer to the higher end of the quoted range. Yes, they did a great job the filthy refrigerator and stove but as they were about done they started to work on the cabinets. It was only at the end that they showed me what was done. They removed grim but missed a few silverware drawers. The dispatcher had allotted 2 to 3 hours for the job even after I told him my tenants had trashed the place. The next day I call the rep and he sent me pictures of their work. He told me remember them for any additional work. 271 dollars later it was done. I might not use them again..... I requested they return to finish that section. In the dining room, after they left I noticed that the chandelier hadn't been touched. There was a plumber in that morning that went over time, so I don't fault them at having a delay but they asked for another half hour to finish the kitchen. Many things were cleaned but the floors where they dipped under the cabinets for a few inches looked untouched. The lead said she sprayed degreaser but didn't have time to clean the area - they left 10 minutes earlier than what I paid for. I would prefer they finished the job. The bathroom windows weren't cleaned even though that was a request. I feel like the job should have been quoted instead of an hourly. The team seemed to want to get out of there in lieu of finishing the job properly. When I complained they told me they sent a team of 3 instead of two that was quoted and that had I gotten 2 or would have taken a longer time so I should be happy. The 3 rd person was clearly a trainee or newer as she didn't have initiative and had to keep asking what to do and just standing around waiting for an order. Lastly, I speak some Spanish but there was no English and there was a lot of photo taking and laughter that felt like they were judging the state of my parents home. I had cleaned and organized for a month before hiring them so felt it was in better shape but needed a DEEP cleaning - that to me means getting under the cabinets in the kitchen floor.

So everything is literally covered by layers of dust, cigarette tar, saw dust. I probably did not stress the level of messiness clearly, and they were surprised by the amount of work needed. But even so, they managed to bring in more people and held up their guarantee to complete the work same day. The house is 10 times better after the cleaning. The clean was so detailed everything is sparkling and even old unfinished wood is much cleaner (which I didn't think you can effectively clean). Price is reasonable and communication is easy and fast. Downright the best cleaning team I've used.

So I didn't ... and surely enough, despite my efforts to try and tidy up here and there, the mess built up. At first, I didn't really notice it, but then little by little, the place became unmanageable. It got to a point where I hated going home because I felt like I was walking into pigsty and it depressed me. After trying to ignore the issue, I reached a point where I decided I needed to do something because ignoring the problem was not going to fix it; and if I wanted to change the way I felt about my messy home, I needed to either spend the time cleaning or spend some money hiring a professional to help me. I'd never hired a professional cleaning service before and practically speaking, I initially had three concerns: (1) where do I find one? (2) can I even afford it? and; (3) can I find a trustworthy company where I feel safe entrusting them with my keys to come in and clean my place while I'm not home. As for my first question, I literally didn't know where to start. Eventually, I managed to find my way to Yelp and looked up services that are near me. I'm in Edgewater and based on my location, it recommended 4 places, so I requested a quote from all 4. Express Cleaning Team was the last to respond to my query but I'm really glad they did because it solved my second concern: cost. I originally had an idea of how much I wanted to spend but after receiving quotes from the first 3 services, I was left feeling disappointed because it was WAY beyond what I wanted to budget for a weekly appointment. It turned out that ECT's rates are so reasonable and affordable, my only regret is not having looked into this much sooner. All I had to do was to fill out their booking form on their website. Once I completed their dozen or so questions, I was quoted less than $100 a week to clean my two bedroom/one bathroom apartment. Now that I knew there was a service near my home that fit my budget, the only thing I had left to determine was whether I could trust them enough to give them a copy of my keys to clean the apartment when I'm at work. I wanted to make sure, so once I got an email confirmation from Jimmy, I asked him if it were possible to meet someone from the company on a weekend when I was home. Despite being outside of their business hours, his wife Fary graciously agreed to come by on Saturday to meet me and personally clean my apartment. I mean, how amazing and awesome is that?! It was her day off, but she still nonetheless took the time to come to my home just to meet me, give me the peace of mind, and did a truly AMAZING job. I didn't stay the entire time she was there but when I came home later that night, I was left speechless. I was so stunned and grateful for the care and attention that was clearly spent because everything was perfect. Honestly, it was like every little thing was carefully put in its place and every surface was expertly cleaned. You could easily tell how much care and attention was spent making sure I came home happy. If you're reading this review, you may be interested in hiring a cleaning service but have similar concerns about actually hiring one like I did. If so, I hope this helps in your calculus for reaching a decision. I was very pleased in my decision to hire ECT and I'm certain that going forward, I will actually want to come home instead on being depressed whenever I walk through my door.
