As soon as we were settled down, we look for a Catholic Church where we would feel welcomed and peaceful. We searched, and finally, our daughter took me to St Catherine of Siena and we are so grateful to God and to her. We love it. In Houston, we were parishioners at Saint Mathew The Evangelist Catholic Church located in Hollister Road, for many, many years and, needles to say, we were very happy there. St Catherine of Siena is so beautiful, but the thing that we like the most, is Rev. Patrick Coakley's sermons. They are straight to the point and he tells it like it is. On our adult life, we have never, ever, as a couple, enjoyed and touched by other homilies, as we are now. He talks about current events and how we are behaving as human beings. He teaches us the gospel values and emphasizes that is never to late to straighten our lives. Little by little, we are becoming more involved in St Catherine of Siena's community outreach and mission. Deacon Jesse Casares was so helpful when he provided me with the application to become parishioners. I will never forget his welcoming smile and his joy. Gracias!! The choir is splendid and we enjoy the music, the lyrics and their voices. I thank God for leading us to our new catholic church in this beautiful Austin.

One of the things we missed the most when we moved. In all the churches we have been since, none can compare to St. Catherine's. Something just so magical about it. The wife and I recently attended a mass since we were in the area. It is still the same. The christmas decorations were just right. We were excited to now see a school on site and the expansion of the hall. The saddest part of the visit was not seeing Father Oliver. He is now in heaven. So many fond memories of him as well.

You'll see a sign that says if you're a first time guest, to turn your hazard lights on. From there, the team will lead you to front-row parking and will escort you to the first-time guest booth. We were warmly welcomed and received a welcome gift--which, interestingly, was a book by the pastor... I've received beautiful mugs and tumblers from other churches as first time gifts, but to each their own. We attended the 10:30 AM service (second service of the day), and were surprised with how packed The Connection Church service was. The program of service flows perfectly, 2-3 worship songs, and church updates followed by the sermon wrapped up in an hour. For those seeking communion for the day, they have it laid to the side as optional. Parents with children can drop off their kids during service in Connection Kidz. If your child needs you, their number will light up on the monitors to the side of the church. While I enjoyed the experience, it can be very intense for some. For new guests, they follow up by sending you an invite for a special dinner with the pastor and his family via mail and email.

Located…read moreon The Drag in Austin, it seems to have a good connection to the University of Texas campus having plenty of fellowship with the students. The Father who led service was very kind-hearted, friendly, and made the entire ceremony special. In addition, the guy who was cookin' up on the organ and the lady who sang the hymns really added to the ceremony as well. I am not Catholic so I felt a little disconnected at points, but the entire experience was great and made me genuinely emotional and moved.

It allows Gary Job Corps Students to participate in services and functions as well as Texas State students. It offers free coffee, cookies, prayer and hugs every Sunday morning and throughout the week. Pastor Robin Steel is really connected to God, and he allows God to speak through him to connect to others. They meet for service on Sunday's at 9 AM and 11AM and Saturday's at 6PM.
